Pirog is no joke. He's a good fighter, very awkward, moves his head well, had composure. This isn't a Prescott thing. He'll likely give a lot of guys trouble.
That said Jacobs really let him dictate the pace of the fight from the opening bell on, and he looked scared to commit to his punches too. Pirog's movement had something to do with that, but you have to make the guy respect you.
JCC Jr. doesn't hit that hard it seems, and he hasn't shown the chin of Margarito against top fighters. John Duddy is a journeyman. Cotto might end up being way too skilled for him.
Dawson fought a horrible fight. Nothing tells me he can't win a rematch with Pascal. And Pascal is pretty scrappy he could beat Cloud, but Cloud would likely KO Dawson. It's an interesting division at the top for sure.
He already tried Sr. That didn't work out. I'm about to watch the fight now. When I saw the result I was very surprised. Everything I saw out of Pascal showed me Dawson was a lot more skilled. I can't wait to see how it unfolded.
and how did you get to that? nobody has said manny agreed to random ost---------as a matter of fact nobody has said what fannypac has agreed to at all-----NOBODY. SO I'LL ASK AGAIN, how did you get to that assumption?
there has been nothing but a bunch of uninformative and contradictive media commentary in the last few weeks or whatever.
its not roids exactly, but peds. reminds of those people that still call mma, ufc.
He agreed to the test cut off days if not weeks go. That's not an assumption, that's fact.
No, he didn't. It's dumb to think that someone would attempt to tarnish another man's legacy. Pacquiao did all that to himself, and in my opinion he deserves the backlash.
What needed to happen was
1. Pacquiao accepts to take the full.
2. His team shuts the fuck up about it.
Neither happened. And again, how do you know whats on the contract?
Why did he do it then? Why did he go through something like 40 fights without demanding for steroid testing then all of a sudden demand so? That makes no sense. Especially when Manny had no failed tests in the past.
I don't know specifically what's on the contract. But I'll know in a day.
Mayweather never intended to make Pacquiao look scared or on roids. All he ever wanted was for Paquiao to agree to take the full, be real now. A lot of you guys really do see things differently.
Why would Floyd all of a sudden think up a test for Manny when he hadn't done so just months prior for JMM? He had a hidden agenda. It's obvious to me.
I thought it was a little random. He should be calling out JMM, Khan, Alexander, Maidana. He's been beating good fighters consistantly for two years now though, if Clottey can get a fight with Manny then Bradley should.
I got Bradley by decision. I like his foot/head movement in there. Alexander will probably catch him in the exchanges because of Bradley's wide left hooks. Other than that though I can see Bradley controlling the fight fromt he outside. His right hand over top Alexander's southpaw jab all night.
After all the shit he caused with the blood testing thing, Manny finally agrees to a cut off date and he doesn't want to fight. You'd have to say he's avoiding him.
Jacobs showed he's a fairly easy fighter to "read" I think.
He''ll have to improve on disguising punches, he's like a middleweight Vic Darchiniyan but perhaps not as drastic as Darchiniyan.
That was his main problem. Pirog is awkward and somewhat difficult to hit. He's not THAT hard to hit. Jacobs made him look like Mayweather in there at times because he kept throwing 1-2, 1-2-3, 1-2-3-4.
jacobs is only 23yrs old it was to early for title fight like that.
you cant take nothing away from the other guy he came ready for war.
and at the end of the day it worked
It might have been a little early because he's been fighting tomato cans. He looked intimidated to me very early on. I missed the Ishe fight and that was his only real "test" so I don't know if he's usually like that. At some point you have to step up. Maybe Pirog was a lot better than Golden Boy expected, but that was for a belt. At that point you have to be ready for anything.
This is what happens when you talk too much. Manny having to skip meals to make 140 is complete and utter bullshit. Why would he have to stuff his face with 8,000 calories to make WW then?
I like how the talk comes after the fact. Was Dawson an American hypejob when he embarrassed Adamek?
I'm not sure where the hype was around Jacobs either. Alexander had hype though...
I disagree. I think it was a close Pac win. JMM did a good job coming back. people act like Manny lost every round after the first two, and that's just not the case.
The second fight was a lot more difficult to score. I can see JMM getting the nod.
He beat Cintron X2, Cotto, Clottey, Martinez, and a few solid top 20 WW's. The Williams fight was pretty close and competitive. His resume is pretty good. It's the hand wrap issue that ruins everything. He'll be more competitive than Clottey, Hatton, De La hoya, and Cotto were. And this is the biggest opponent of Pac's career. I'm looking forward to it. There's not much else for him other than Floyd. Maybe Marquez.
Khan is much more skilled than Bradley. Bradley is less skilled than Khan and Alexander. He just wants to win more than them and will do WHATEVER it takes to do so. That's why I think he is the best.
That's what I've been saying. Bradley has more dog in him than any of these guys. Bradley's right hand is on the level of all these guys though
Exactly,Kotelnik would land two, three SOLID punches a round, and people think that grants him to win the fight? Cumon man, even if Alexander is missing alot, hes still outworking him,u gotta take the title,if this was the case,Margarito beat Paul Williams then? NOpe
This would be fair if Kotelnik landed maybe 2 or 3 solid punches, but he landed several each round. Every jab seemed to flush on Alexander's face.
Even in the rounds Alexander won early, Kotelnik was landing well timed jabs that snapped Alexander's head back.
Kotelnik won this fight. He landed more clean punches consistantly. I have to wonder what the hell Harold Lederman was watching. It was obvious to me that Alexander's punches were landing ont he gloves, and by the end of the fight he was looping weak arm punches that had no effect. Kotelnik won. I knew the whole time he had no chance to actually get the decision though. It was still a close fight, but one I felt Kotelnik won clearly.
Yo Webb did you see a lot of the weaknesses I pointed out before? Devon ain't bad man, I love the dude's character but I feel that we all have to come back down to earth. People need to carefully study him and see that he has far too many flaws, flaws that he can fix though.
These flaws were in the Urango fight too where he was hit over and over with looping left hands. He's hittable. Not really a pure defensive boxer as much as a guy who throws a lot of punches.
