Whyte has been the mandatory for Wilders belt for a while now so that fight is a matter of time. In an ideal world they should have already fought but the usual suspects are to blame fore the delay. Hearn wanting to give Dillian more time, tried getting the rematch with Chisora, different tv networks, WBC granting Wilder more voluntaries, step a side money - boxing politics BS
Browne's last fight before Whyte was a 16-20 scrub.
Browne is terrible. Two old crusty old timers on his record, never fought anybody that was a threat.
Chagaev turned pro 19+ years ago and 45 year-old James Toney.
True. Completely agree.
I see why he's saying it. Attention. But you got to draw a line somewhere, especially given the recent tragedies in the sport. Classless statement, and I like Wilder.
Really looking forward to this one. Mad respect for Cotto, followed him for years. Im a fan of his, but Canelo is a monster!! Too young, fast, and strong. I say Canelo takes it. Maybe even a late stoppage.
Jennings rudimentary movement gave an older Klitschko fits. Its harder for him to establish his prodding jab, and if he cant do that then he struggles to land the straight right or the left hook. It was similar in the Haye fight, though Haye has such bad balance he could never turn his movement into decent punching opportunities. Everything comes off the jab for Wlad.
Fury when he is in shape and disciplined has pretty good movement on the outside and he wont be bullied on the inside either. He can also jab and punch on the move which a lot of WK's opponents cant do.
The key for him is staying disciplined for all 12 rounds, if he can do that he has a pretty good chance IMO.
Big if though.
Very true what you said about Wlad's jab, his whole style and arsenal is centered around is jab. Having said that, he def has slowed down last few years, granted his age and being a big guy with a big frame takes alot more out of you. Hence the ridiculous amounts of clinches. He holds wayyyyy to much and for the most part gets away with it. Heres where I think Tyson can capitalize he cant led Wlad hold, must control the pace/tempo of the fight. Also his jab needs to be on point, frustrate Wlad. Make the "old" man look old.
On a side note I agree that Fury def hasnt faced anyone of Wlads caliber yet, and being hit by a Klitschko is a whole different ball game! Its a tough task, gonna be interesting to see where he ranks at the top level.
13 straight KO defenses is not enough?
Look at the opposition. 13 defenses against who? mostly mandatorys. Granted he's a monster and heavily avoided but until he fights and beats an opponent of real caliber ( like Canelo) Pac def ranks higher hands down!!. Pac is an 8 division world champ! Never been done before. Golovkin may be undefeated but Manny has fought and beat legends. KO'd Morales, beat Barrera, 4 WARS with Marquez, made De La Hoya quit and retire from the sport, Mosley, beat the living **** out of Margarito who is a giant in size compared to Manny. When you take all of this into consideration I dont see any other way. Pac has to rank higher than GGG.
That's the only fight where he took a continuously sustained REAL beating. Plus he fought him with one arm (torn bicep) and Vitali still couldn't KO him or even drop him. Talk about a granite chin.
I had it 3-2 Khan going into the 6th. The judge that had it 4-1 Canelo WTF was he watching.
Something has to be done about BS scoring and crooked/incompetent/dumb ass/blind judges, happens way too often in the sport.
Brook is busy fighting Bizier, JoJo dan & Gavin
Actually i'm surprised he didn't fight Algieri instead of those guys....
Algieri is like the better American version.
He had no choice in fighting those guys. All mandatories, either fight or get stripped of the belt. IBF are pretty strict when it comes to that, just ask Tyson Fury.
Fight was very close but Kovalev was the aggressor most of the fight. Kovalev threw more punches, landed the more effective punches. Ward did come strong in 2nd half of fight and Kovalev was getting tired, output dropping, but Sergei still just edged it.
IMHO scorecards were correct but for the wrong fighter. Call it a robbery, corruption, local fighter getting the nod, bad judging, whatever. Sergei should have won.

Wilder has a punchers chance but thats about it. Skill wise Fury is on another level.
To be honest id be surprised if Wilder survives Povetkin
Completely agree. When it comes to boxing and the sweet science Fury beats Wilder any day of the week. He can simply keep range jab him all the way to a decision.
However Fury does like to clown around and even engage at times. Also he does tend to get hit. If that happens with Wilder there's no getting up from that. Its game over!! Wilder is no Cunnigham. If a cruiserweight can drop him he def can't afford to play games in a Wilder fight.
Povetkin will be a test. I still have Wilder in that one but regardless looking forward to it.
Floyd would make Khan look like an amateur if they fought. I'm talking schooling on another level, borderline humiliation. Worse than Canelo.
I think Khan knows he's got not chance of winning. He's simply up floyd's ass for a payday and the recognition the fight would generate to up his profile.
Kirkland's a warrior for sure, but he has ZERO peripheral defense :). Looping, wrap-around, uppercuts, he can't see any of that coming. Good news is that he's a guaranteed, "make me look good" opponent for the next few years. Cotto, GGG, Thurman, Porter...he'll keep getting gatekeeper fights as long as he can stay out of legal trouble.
I agree SHO, even Kirkland's corner was screaming at him to keep his hands up!!l
As long as it lasted, What a fight!! Kellerman was right on the money when he said " If the fight last week put you to sleep, this is a fight where someone's going to sleep".
Kirkland has serious heart. The shots he took in Rd1 & 2 would have stopped most fighters on the spot. At the same time the difference in skill level was clear.
Aside from heart, Kirkland has absolutely ZERO DEFENCE plus no head movement, literally a walking punching bag. His only shot of winning was to KO Caenlo. Kirkland being a heavy-handed southpaw he had a punchers chance I guess, but that in itself was going to be extremely difficult, highly unlikely, and borderline impossible.
and What a KO by Canelo! WOW. The uppercut and right hand were DEVASTATING. BRUTAL KO!! The way Kirkland's body dropped was scary. Hope he's ok.
___________
Arreola would be more agressive and silly, probably his punching power isn't as much as Stiverne's and he also has worse chin and defense than Stiverne. He would knocked out by Wilder in 5-6 rounds.
Completely agree, I say Wilder KOs him in 4 rds max.
There's a thread titled exactly this on the front page
Edit My bad this ones for pac
Hey Jas,
thats an amazing pic of Floyd and Manny. Where did you find it and how can I get it?
Cheers mate
Roach wants Pacman to fight at 140lbs if no Floyd fight which would definitely rule out Canelo.
Maidana at 147lbs, Thurman at 147lbs, Garcia at 140lbs for his belts would all be good fights for Manny and boxing fans.
He is supposed to be a 147 champion so i'd like to see him face elite full fledged ww champions such as Brook and interim WBA champ Thurman.
Enough with the light hitting 140 blown up fighters. It's time for Pacquio to defend his 147 against actual welterweights.
I agree Jose. I'd love to see Manny fight real welterweights too but sadly I feel at this stage of his life and career I dont believe titles mean much to him anymore, its all about the money, plus if you believe the rumors about Manny's tax issues and drop in PPV numbers then now more than ever.
and Roach too says other than Floyd there's no money fights for Manny at 147lbs.
