So Shannon Briggs been making some noise lately, mainly in the UK hunting down David Haye saying he also wants to fight Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury too. I know he's after a payday & realize the guy is 44 years old. Also this is HW boxing, one punch can change your life forever but can he actually compete with these guys at the top. Haye, Joshua, Povetkin,Wilder, Fury, etc.
To his credit he seems to be in good shape and does have the most 1st round KOs in HW history. I feel he'd still be a dangerous fight for anyone, however I dont believe he can win a title but stranger things have happened i.e. Foreman Moorer. I read hes ranked 4 with WBA or WBO.
What you guys think?? Can he play spoiler to any of the top guys plans??
On a side note, as a character i think he's GREAT! His Klitschko stalking vids are CLASSIC! His interviews are hilarious too. Boxing needs characters like "The Canon". LETS GO CHAMP!!
Briggs couldn't beat top guys 15 to 20 years ago. He can't do anything these days. He has "won" two heavyweight championships but both wins are flimsy at best. His best showing was probably the Lewis loss and that was 18 or so years ago.
What was flimsy about his WBO win?
No. He's boxings clown, people want him to take a beating to laugh at him.
I really don't think they do, they enjoy the show. It's entertaining.
It would be great if he could stop Haye, but he'd be more dangerous against the inexperienced Joshua imo.

He could be dangerous for 1 or 2 rounds then he gasses and any top HW knocks him out. He is entertaining though and is funny but hes going to get hurt if he gets in the ring with Haye.
Hell no. He almost never landed a single punch on Vitali the whole fight so he couldn't fight much then and that was many years ago. He cherry picks guys so bad only boxrec ranks them because they rank all the pro boxers in the world. His opponents are so bad boxrec ranked some of them 400th or 500th in the world. Briggs can no longer beat any top 10 heavyweight. Haye will give Briggs another vicious 12 round beating unless the referee mercifully stops the fight. Briggs is very difficult to knockout.
Yes and no. Briggs game plan is to fight just often enough (vs less than stellar opposition) to stay relevant and show up wherever world class hwt fights are and talk smack in an effort to get a big money fight he doesn't deserve and won't win.
Yes because he might land that big fight and no because if he does, he's gonna get butchered.
He's dangerous for a few rounds but David Haye knows how to stay away from that.
I've got David tagging him with something late to knock him down but not out.
That's the only fight where he took a continuously sustained REAL beating. Plus he fought him with one arm (torn bicep) and Vitali still couldn't KO him or even drop him. Talk about a granite chin.
