Mayweather could never fight anyone considered to be Pacquaio's leftovers (and that includes Marquez who has a good claim to having actually beaten Manny on each occasion!)
Amir Khan I know you'll read this. I want you to look back at a recording of the fight, not at into the crowd or any place else, but the action in the ring. Then place your hand on the Holy Koran and I defy you to deny that you fought like a rank amateur, who ran backwards when attacked, who pushed like a schoolgirl and was truly beaten by the better man on the night.
To be fair it wasn't Mayweather who called out Martinez's name so let's not put it out there that Mayweather is calling out people he knows could never take up the May 5th challenge. As Martinez is preparing for his Macklin defence in March you can be sure his training is geared to getting down to 154. In my opinion it would be impossible for him to lose a further 4lbs and remain effective for the May date. Further, Macklin is not going to accept step aside money because whoever won in May would not be giving him a fight. So don't lose sleep worrying about Mayweather fighting Martin anytime soon.
If everyone were to relate what happened in the last 'street' fight they had, rather than what they think they'd do if they were in a 'street' fight then you'd get their real answer. I bet a good few people commenting hear would say they had their arms stretched out in front of them with their palms facing their aggressor as they repeatedly pleaded 'I don't want any trouble here'.
It really is difficult to throw a proper punch in a street fight, if you do hit someone in the face the chances are they will open their mouth and you end up getting cut knuckles. I've always found it better to take a boxing stance, feint a low kick to bring your opponent's guard down before quickly performing a solid turning kick to the unguarded head.
I get tired of some folk who come on here whinging about fighter A being overhyped and fighter B being overhyped. Come on guys get over yourselves. There were no question marks surrounding SRL's chin so more power would not have helped Kalule unless you're talking about the power from a higher weight and that would be plain dumb!
Witter WAS good & in all likelihood he would have beaten Hattom if they ever fought. His problem was that he was a dangerous fighter without a fan base that could sell-out arenas on Hatton fashion so if he ever beat Hatton the promoters and money makers would stop cashing in. In a lot of ways he was like Herol Graham who Alan Minter ducked. More unfairly Witter continues to be criticised for his Zab Judah fight probably by many who never actually watched it. Witter was nowhere as bad in that fight as people claim. Unfortunately Witter's time has passed so if he is ever given another chase I would expect him to fail and his critics will say he was always a bum. For the record he was a World Champion and is deserving of respect.
Ortiz is a punk, no question about it. But that won't make a difference to those hating on Mayweather because they'll find a way to look past that and decipher something honourable about what he says in explaining his actions even if what he says changes in every interview he does. Much is made of Ortiz's back story and I think that same back story explains why Ortiz is such a gawdam piece of 5h!t that refuses to go away. He's like that piece of 5h!t that gets caught up within the tread of your boot that you can't remove with a stick, or a tissue or even rubbing on a patch of grass. There's always gonna be something stinky about that one foot of boot that's got the 5h!t on. Ortiz's is that piece of 5h!t that gets caught up in your butt hair and no matter how much you wipe it keeps clinging on until you get fed up and say to yourself 'now that piece of 5h!t is gonna leave skidmarks. Damn, I can't make my wife see those drawers, I'll have to throw them in the trash can'. Ortiz is that piece of 5h!t that when you done flushed comes bobbing back up through the water and is all like 'hey man, so what you up to when you're through washing your hands?' I was up at 5.00 a.m to watch the fight after looking forward to it for a couple of months or so. So naturally I was disappointed that it did not last longer but can anyone seriously blame Mayweather for throwing a legal shot and knocking the Billy Goat out early for that disappointment?
Deepest condolencses on the loss of George Benton. The lack of news on his demise only goes to show why so many boxers don't give a 5hit for fans. Far too often these so-called fans are too quick to label a boxer a bum or a hype job when they take a loss. You've got to give massive respect to anyone who steps into the ring and puts their life on the line to support their family and attempt to make a better life for themselves. Even more respect shuld be given to the likes of George Benton who took many punches in their time then make a career teaching boxing and life's lessons to those who come after him. I watched the fight and I listened to Ortiz's excuses from it being an accident to him retaliating against Mayweather fouling him. The guy really sounds like he believes what he says - now that's the scary thing about him together with that ass-like smile he's got. It really wouldn't surprise me if we find out that he still lives with his mother and father to this day and his hard luck story is nothing but a figment of his imagination.
