Anyone heard him in his post fight interview? He said he thought he won the fight, hometown decision and crowd helped, he said he landed more power punches and clear punched while it couldn't be more far from the truth.
I never thought Glen was delusional like that. Yeah, he was robbed a couple of time in close fight but there is no way that fight was one of it.
Whats next for Glen Johnson??
I've said this for a long time, he has a way of speaking in post-fight interviews that make it seem that every close fight is a horrible injustice. What he doesn't realize or care about is that every time he does so, he takes a swipe at the confidence of fans in the sport.
Johnson did the same thing after the first fight and had convinced some fans that it was the worst decision of all time, when in reality it was a pretty close fight.
Sorry to say it after supporting him for a long time but I think he's just in it for the money now. He puts up the usual effort and claims to have gotten wronged in order to get another payday against a younger man looking to impress.
I would wish to see him retire and not be a stepping stone. Nobody's going to knock him out, we know as much, and nobody will even look good against him despite how old he is. He can still handle himself in the ring, it's just that he won't win any of the big fights against younger opponents. He no longer possesses the old ability to pressure and outwork his opponents which led to him winning his biggest fights.
He can still beat the Allan Green's and Yusaf Mack's of the boxing world but stands no reasonable chance against Bute, Froch or Dawson who are the top fighters in those divisions. Considering that he used to be a champion, there's no real point in continuing if you aren't at that level anymore.
Glen believes he only lost one fight in his entire career; his stoppage defeat against Bernard Hopkins! For sure Glen can be a bit delusional immediately after fights he's lost but it might be a bit strong to call him dishonest - let's leave that de scription to the likes of Margarito, PED users and Zab Judah.
