I don't see it at all
Ward might irritate him a little but I see him walking through all of them, Dirrell's speed might give him a little puzzle to figure out. Bute ? Froch?
man, ward gets ko'd as soon he puts his chin/head on roy's chest
or whenever roy lands a punch, which would be early, and would end it
roy would go merqui sosa on his ass except ward doesn't have near the chin sosa had
Bute, Froch or Ward would of given a good fight. RJJ was very fast and had great reflexes, but made a lot of technical mistakes; He was not unbeatable.
Agreed, and Montell Griffin was giving him fits. I think he finds a way to beat them all with Ward possibly giving him his hardest fight. I don't see Froch or Dirrell being blown away either. These are very good high level super middleweights and after it was all over, i think Roy would feel he was in a good one with all 3.
in his prime?
his actual prime? y'all musta forgot about roy jones man.
he had speed that was basically unmatched at that size. he didn't have a lengthy tenure there, but 168 was his weight class.
none of the fights would be competitive.
andre ward is the best at 168 in the world and he'd be reduced to scratching and pecking for single shots.
he couldn't catch roy.
dirrell has the fastest feet and hands in the division today, and has some length as well, but he'd get chin checked quickly and probably run away for however long it took roy to catch up to him and knock him out. he'd only survive for rounds because he'd be on his bike.
he'd make froch miss by feet
literally. a foot or two. dirrell and taylor gave him problems with their speed. what's he going to do with roy jones?
and bute's got a punchers chance, but it's not going to pay off.
and would likely get his face wrecked and get stopped within the first half of the fight
kessler has a very good chin, like froch but he's not going to win a single round, especially at this point in his career.
I don't even like Jones but the guy was a monster in his prime and I can't see anybody beating him in that current division today. The key IMO to beating a prime Roy would have been a guy with one punch KO power, great defense, and precise accuracy and I don't see anybody today with all those attributes.
Agreed.........
I think Ward would have the best chance...if he gets inside and just makes it an ugly fight.....if he can
Not really a fair match up the way they are now, I don't believe either Ward or Dirrell have reached their respective peaks yet. But yeah Ward would have to get inside and try to rough Roy up. Dirrell would have to move and work his jab, stay on the outside.
Griffin had some success against Roy, but judging by the rematch, I think that had more to do with complacency against vastly inferior opposition. Which I don't think would be a problem against these two.
Roy would beat any Super Middleweight in History in his prime.
The Super Middleweight Division is probably the strongest it's ever been but he would beat them all with ease.
And  @ arguing Froch could beat him.
Roy Jones would destroy Froch. Beat him from pillar to post.
no i think he would dominate them all at 168 in his prime for that weight.
i also think toney would handily beat froch and ward.
i agree with jones beating him, but i think toney would have a hard time with a fighter like ward.
Ward and Dirrell would give him the most trouble. Abraham would have a puncher's chance. But I would favor Roy over all of them.
