With respect to the great fighters of the past...I believe they had to earn that contention in order to face the champion of the division. They couldn't just knock on the champ's door and say "Fight me, I'm new here, but I deserve it more than these other guys."
I think there were fighters out there from long ago that had hundreds of fights, but were never given that opportunity to face the champ.
then that will be one of the mystic of pacquiao why was he allowed after all he was just moving up. if you must look back almost nobody gave manny the chance to win, nobody believes in him at first except for his die hard fans, those who follows his hometown fights and his forage in asian circuits. he was probably given the chance probably because he is exciting and he wanted it and his opponents thought they can easily defeat the small guy from asia.
Pac doesn't give a **** bout nothing but his Top Rank checking account. Since the moment Pac moved up from 130 all the talk from his own Island Nation has been about fighting and beating Floyd. While Pactards are defending Pacquaio's right to not face Floyd, Pinoys on the other hand should feel rejected and bamboozled. This guy isnt going anywhere near Floyd, Pac and his entire team has been ducking, dodging, making excuses, and doing everything possible to stay in the Arum stable.
In my opinion if Pac never fights Floyd then all this hype and momentum created for Filipino boxing is a waist. In the end Pac will be known as the Mexicutioner and thats It!! If you can't beat Floyd then what good are you, none in my book. Pinoys asked you to beat Floyd, not Oldsley!!
i disagree as of this moment floyd is irrelevant, people will easily forget about floyd than manny pacquiao. when pacquiao retires there will be farewell celebrations to the Greatest of this era. floyd will be just like a passing fancy.
I expect a nonsense post like this from someone named pacfan
and it is also expected that it will be nonsense to a TS named Code Red and red all over... nyahahaha
Idiot , Floyd agreed to 50/50 , it was Manny that pulled out of the negotiation because Manny dont want to be tested and looks like a royal cheat in the process ,, Manny ran out of the fight while Floyd was signed , thats a fact you cant live with .

there is a group of people that will really look forward to ordering that fight, hell they may do it individually, these people have ordered all of mayweathers fights recently as they find it suited for their needs they are members of the I.A. (INSOMNIAC ANONYMOUS).
I am not a big fan of the massive stadiums. Literally 30k people in those things can't actually see the live fight- they only see the large screen.
They are there yeah and part of the event, but it just seems silly to me to watch something from so far away and barely see it unless you are looking at a monitor.
Even at local events, anything in the upper decks of a big place is kind of a waste.
^^^^ this kinda killed this thread LOL!
Pac fans I wanna hear you defend this one.
you want Pac fans to defend that pacquiao will go for stopping shane because shane hasnt been stopped? whats there to defend there? that pacquiao will not knock shane out?
threads like this is a welcome development in boxing really. its indicative of how the sports of boxing has progressed. every bout of well known fighter is viewed like the nyse, at the end of the fight everyones waiting if the stocks are down or up. its like everyones turned like an investor or prospector. dang, boxing is at the forefront again, when will baseball/soccer/basketball/nhl/nfl follow suit. boxing is showing them the way yeahh. their fans should also start monitoring their teams sales.
is it true that elie was kicked out of wildcard thats why he turns his attention to the other gyms? i recall he frequents wildcard before thats why he was uploading videos only from wildcard?
Knowledgeable, LMAO. The guy who claimed to be a sharp historian only to fudge his facts live on said broadcast, apparently unknowing of when Mosley fought Forrest and believing Shane was no longer an unbeaten fighter in 1999. Who claimed Floyd was scared of Mosley only for Floyd to go and beat the sh*t out of Mosley just a few months after. Who got all defensive when his 'brave on the airwaves' act was poked at and claimed unconvincingly that he'd say the same to Floyd's face. :lol1:
You meant self-ownage, right, Ry?
At least his buddy Paz has talent and makes amazing records, that's why he gets a pass for making me cringe with his views on boxing. RA has sh*tty, unlearned 'views' on boxing and is a barely talented whore with an over-inflated sense of his worth to the hip-hop underground, so he gets nothing from me.
....and you are......?
Larry, I don't know if you have noticed this yourself, but you have actually been defending Manny Pacquiao for some months now. This "you know that, that's it, i'm tired now" has been your attitude for quite some time now regarding Manny and your new style is bashing Floyd.
I don't know who scared you into submission, how much red k you got, and what pack of Pinoys got in to your head but it's a sign of weakness when you go from a die hard fan of a boxer to bashing him and defending his rival. You don't see Pacfans turning on Manny, no matter what he does, they still lick his balls. Floyd has enough haters for you to be turning your back on him now because of a few bans and red k's. You let the boxingscene corruption get to you and turn on your own fighter.
are you crying? you sound gay. stop crying at least somebody got the cojones and reason to see whats happening and do something about it. hes more stronger to change when the need to change calls for it unlike people who choose to be blinded all their life
how do ya'll keep mentioning floyd??is he just an automated response in ya'll peanut sized minds??
hush baby, are you hurt? here :bottle: and stop whining.
si floyd, 'hadlok man sa ako yun bay, duwakang yun, ill just pray that soon hell grow cojones to fight me so everybody will be happy specially the fans. (talking to a Local reporter)
He fought DLH without any catchweights, at 147.
this^^^^^
people should stop branding the oscar dela hoya vs pacquiao fight a catchweight because it isnt.

Excluding the heavyweights as Iron Mike used to do with most of his foes. Pacquiao 17 lbs lighter than Tony beat the latter from pillar to post. Even the greats Robinson and the like had so much trouble dealing with heavy opponents...
pacquiao's punches are not like those who connect flushed, because of the speed and the angles when it connects it breaks the skin causing abrasion. manny's punches is like a whip thus the title of this threat is appropriate. this is the mistake most of pacquiao opponents made, they assumed that its only the speed and not so much the power or if ever they thought they can handle the power but they overlooked the throbbing pain. unlike flush shots rocking your body and your brain sometimes shuts all senses to prevent further damage like a computer rebooting then it resets and recovers, grazing or whip/shots that breaks skin and flesh causes searing and throbbing pains that distracts the brain which can go primarily on defense mode. thus i can only imagine what oscar was thinking during their fight, he was defending himself from inside and outside until his brain said enough is enough, david diaz went on throwing punches as his brain decided that the cause of the pain is the one to be stopped but only up to a point sans any plan until was caught and finally laid on the canvass and cannot punch anymore, cotto underestimated pacman went toe to toe but eventually decided to back off from the pain rode his bike for the rest of the fight, hatton was lucky he caught a flush one that shutdown his system he was spared of the pain but wasnt able to take the humiliation that his brain craved for the one that makes it forget after, clottey even from the beginning of the fight decided for a defensive stance waiting for the pacman to ease up and then make his move, elected to maintain the high guard waiting, but too much waiting made his brain went to stupor, it was like going to a hut for shelter during a storm and lost tract of time til it was already the end of the fight, margarito, nothing to lose but everything to gain, he destroyed all the gears except for the forward drive, he went on attack mode from the very beginning he was already in pain but he kept on moving forward with the tremendous help of the 17lbs advantage, but the easing of the onslaught was only on mannys decision, mosley, they said they will never underestimate pacquiao but do you think hes prepared for what it feels when caught by pacquiao's whipping punch? is he prepared for the surprise of the throbbing pain it will caused? i guess not but i will try to observed the expression on his face when it happens and see his body's reaction to it. when floyd and pacquiao finally fights, floyds facial feature will change there will be broken flesh and skin and i expect floyd will do a clottey too.:boxing:
yeah i didn't know he has endorsements around the world. :dunce:
pacquiao makes a ton of money. it doesn't compare to a lot of the other athletes though.
boxing is not as mainstream as other sports.
kobe outsells yao ming in jerseys in china for crying out loud.
endorsement value depends on what the athlete can sell.
there's a reason why tiger woods gets paid more in endorsements than basketball and soccer players.
basketball and soccer players can sell hundred dollar jerseys , balls and shoes.
tiger woods is selling thousand dollar golf equipment.
LOL thats funny, chinese dont buy real article, they make look alike, counterfeits, they may buy more kobe shirts but the money will never reach kobe's pockets. if you yourself are buying kobe shirts most probability its made in china, equally probable its counterfeit too LOL, and kobe never gets to be paid even a cent.
If Floyd were in there, a white towel would be flying in the ring and the ref would've stepped in to save Margo sooner.

He had a hell of a run before winning the title. After beating Balboa and then losing the rematch, he's a borderline case.
How did his career go post-Balboa?
the last he was seen was in MMA, he changed his name to Kimbo Slice.
hes gotten a little older tho'

Quote:
"The more one reflects on Manny and his performances, the clearer it becomes that he is the Bruce Lee of boxing. This athletic style is unique in boxing to Manny.
In more than 4 decades of promoting fights. I have never seen anyone like Manny Pacquiao and his Bruce Lee style of boxing"
- Bob Arum
This is funny. Manny fights nothing like Bruce Lee. Floyd is the closest thing to a martial artist in the boxing ring with the shoulder roll, counter punching, and general body movement. Arum only says that because he's asian. What a cheap way to promote a fighter.
and quite effective you may add, unlike the one who profess to be a savvy businessman and what flomos consider a marketing genius, promoting himself to be hated, chided and heckled wherever he goes and branded as coward by reporters even flomos claimed to have no knowledge on boxing. how low one can get by being a marketing genius.
