I don't have any special inside info, I just know the history and tendencies of Mayweather. Look back. When he was about to challenge Genaro Hernandez for his 1st title, many people thought it was too much too soon. Floyd fought a tall angular guy named Tony Pep, that gave him the same look Henrandez did. He handled Pep and went on to handle Hernandez. Then when he was about to fight Corrales, he took a non title fight at 135 against Emanuel Augustus. He wanted to get used to fighting a bigger man and he also wanted to see what style he should use to beat Corrales. Then he wanted to move to 147 TO FIGHT JUDAH, HE FOUGHT SHARMBA MITCHELL IN A SHOWCASE FIGHT TO GET READY FOR THE SPEEDY SOUTHPAW. Floyd does not like southpaws and so he wants the LOOK. I actually think it;s smart on his behalf to fight a southpaw 1st before he gets in with Manny. That way he train for Manny for about 6 months and that will make him more comfortable. They will sell the Spadafora mach up well. Spadafora is an undefeated ex champion, he has an Italian last name and mysteriously the footage of him and Floyd sparring will appear everywhere. Some will think he has Floyd's number and that will be the sell. I actually think the fight will happen, but it's pure specualtion. First of all, why do WE need to think like Floyd? Floyd needs to ask if WE will watch this fight on PPV. There should be a better southpaw at that weight division as a tune fight. Knowing Mayweather's recent tendencies, this ain't a tuneup for ****. Just a money grubbing exercise to "steal as much as he can from fans" with as minimal risk as possible. It can't be a tuneup if he doesn't sign to fight anyone beforehand. Just a **** comeback fight. Most likely he'll fight Spadafora, and when questions of a Pac fight arise after he'll claim he's like the Superbowl and fights once a year and go on vacation again. floyd only fights once a year, so scrap this idea that he's taking this fight as a prelude to a bigger fight. after this fight with spadafora he'll take another long vacation. he might eventually retire for good. if he's intent in fighting either martinez of pacquiao eventually, what's the big secret? why can't he commit to something? why the reluctance? time to wake up, mates. just accept floyd who he is now and just try to enjoy what he can do in the ring against an insignificant fighter. that's how i watch boxing. i expect floyd to dominate and ko spadafora. i'm not a fan who boycotts fights. that's stupid. floyd breaks his inactivity, be grateful.
