Excluding the heavyweights as Iron Mike used to do with most of his foes. Pacquiao 17 lbs lighter than Tony beat the latter from pillar to post. Even the greats Robinson and the like had so much trouble dealing with heavy opponents...
Jack Dempsey (6'1") vs. Jess Willard (6'6 1/2").
Willard was knocked down seven times in the first round (the rules at the time permitted standing over a downed opponent and hitting him again as soon as both knees left the canvas). His corner would not let him answer the bell for the fourth round. Jess suffered a broken jaw, broken ribs, several broken teeth and a number of fractures to his facial bones.
Of course this one sticks out first for me. It was the 20th Century equivalent to David and Goliath.
I was at the Pacquiao-Margarito fight, and all I could think was how this once seemingly indomitable force Margarito looked defeated and resigned to fate. He was simply plodding forward because that's what he was programmed to do. It was almost comical how this relatively diminutive boxer was pummeling this much stronger appearing man.
Why it's difficult to accept what Pac did in that fight is beyond me. The thread title is "PAC-Margarito: Have you seen a worse a** whippin' of a little man over a big man?!" It's a very simple question. Have you seen one? If yes, then mention it. Funny thing is they mention what they've seen on Youtube that happened millions of years ago. If these are the kind of fans you call real boxing fans, I'd rather be a casual fan. Shove that garbage down your a&& stupid peeps. I want none of it. Eeewww........:boxing:

Couldn't have come at a more perfect time. Thanks for illustrating my point.

We all know the Margarito was a classic win and will go down in history as one of the most amazing beatings of all times in fact. Margarito has only lost once and nobody does that to Margarito. So how does any WW, or JMW beaten him like Pac did that night?
SRR wouldnt have beaten him like what Pac did! Pac is famous for beating people like nobody else does. That is what he is famous for! From knocking hatton out in 2 rounds, to making Clottey like a tortoise, to being the only man to ever stop Morales, to controlling Cotto and Margarito like he did and make them look like grotesque elephant men. No fighter in history showed that consistency to give plastic surgery to the biggest names in the sport of boxing like Pac does and did. Not even SRR and Ali.
Pac sets precedents left right and centre. The greatest fighter who ever lived.
This is why blatant threads like this that are made by people who dont even like the sport just the one fighter gives me such satisfaction. Cause i know idiots like you will go away once he retires. #1 Margarito had only lost once before then :lol1: he'd lost 6 times before then and one of those loses was a devastating ko loss #2 I didn't say anything about beat him as badly i said any elite fighter woulda beaten him on that night. And this ones the best the GOAT ssr wouldn't have beaten margarito as badly :smashfrea go back to pacland u troll, they don't call it the St. Valentine day massacre for nothing.
That doesn't mean what PAC did wasnt impressive or he's not a great fighter. It means that there's other great fighters as well, who are just as or even more accomplished then him in eras where the fighters were much better. If fools like you really loved the sport u would learn about them and watch those classic fights. But we all know what kinda fans most of u guys are.
smaller men beat bigger men all the time, champall the time
if you look through the record of your favorite prospect you'll likely see plenty of men that have operated a weight class or two below on his ledger
you might even see a few names of guys that regularly takes fights at higher weights.
pacquiao's win over margarito was certainly spectacular in terms of the presentation of the beating. and it was a hell of a beating.
margarito was the perfect dance partner for that sort of a show
but he's been taking flush bombs for well over a decade now
he's good and shot
and many of his wins (w/ capetillo at the end of their run together) are in question
he's just not a significant win in historical terms
manny's beating of miguel cotto, de la hoya, barerra 1, morales two, ricky hatton, are all more impressive, in my eyes, because of the hall of famers on the other half of the ledger
and cotto, de la hoya, hatton all enjoyed a natural advantage of size
I have already been through this with him, bro.
There really is no point getting into it with him.
Just browse the posts in this thread and you will see what I'm talking about.
But yeah you're right, huge portions of Jimmy Wildes career sping to mind.
hey homie , my problem has always been how they down play pac's win over margo like it happens all the time when infact history states that the closest to that ever happening is from fights from the 1890's and 1920's or so...get me...and all you did was attack my character in this thread, nothing more...

how do you know? youre going by the bs rehydrate weigh ins(which incidently can be inaccurate) that those fights didnt have.
I mean hell, Duran looked tiny against Barkley, who was huge for a Middleweight and even ended his career at HW. for all we know, Duran had a 20lb disadvantage in that fight, since he only weighed 156lbs and Barkley could have easily rehydrated up 15lbs.
Those weigh ins are all off. hence the "unofficial" hbo/showtime scale, etc
those guys step on the scales wearing shoes and heavy clothes lol
some of them step on the scale with very little clothing
max kellerman might enjoy it more than the next man, but he's not going to tell these guys to strip down for an unofficial weigh in:poke:
Unrelated: were you once blackirish?
i get hungry every time i see the t bone in your avatar
6 months later is too soon??
so a fighter should lose all the time so he could learn from it??
Not lose on purpose obviously, but you will learn from a loss for sure. Thats obvious though am i right? Am i missing something?
Margarito didnt train properly for SSM as he expected to kill SSM, considering he just destroyed Cotto. But he maybe fought SSM too soon after the Cotto fight, which was a hard fight.
But he came back better after losing to SSM. Have you heard from the old saying you learn more from defeat than winning?
But when Pac was fighting at 135lbs, no one in their right mind would have believed Pac would be destroying name guys like Margarito like that.
In fact i dont think anyone could do that to Margarito, be it Duran or SRL.

we all know margarito wasn't a particularly good win. any elite ww/jr mw wouldve beaten him on that night. props to pac on winning impressively but the fight was a sham and we all know it

, Pac takes advantage of that by enforcing things that hurt the opponent Floyd doesnt , FMJ had JMM come up to him that doesnt hurt a fighter the way forcing them down does its a totally different ball park as far as health goes .Buddy look a littler deeper than the beat down , you will always find there are reasons things happen , you only ever see your boy !
Oh i see, is this why Floyd dont ever do down in weight, so he gets all the advantages?
Going down to 140 against Haton would be torture wouldnt it be for him, as would going down to 140 for JMM.
I dont supposed hed go down to Pacs natural 140 weight to fight pac as well?
speed kills..margarito has no defense..he's slow and his foot work is sh**..that fight was tailor made for him..but for the money margarito received i would take a whoopin too.
Tony was 1 round away from seeing his creator. Money aint sh*t if you're dead. PAC was on the dot when he said boxing is not for killing that's why he eased up in the last minute of the 11th and the whole of 12th.
That kind of beating should never happen again in boxing. Fukk Roberto Garcia. Margarito still cant spar 6 months after the fight.

Can you elaborate?
Then why is there no more weight divisions after heavyweight in pro boxing? If people will be of such disadvantage like the Klitschko opponents are having why is there no more division after heavyweight? We all know what happens when Vald and Vitali gets caught flush in the chin by a regular heavyweight power puncher...
load of crap.....go troll someone else...
So you cant answer lol , losers always respond the same way or they will pick on typos lol , your just a fanboy :)
Its not very common because of circumstances , this fight had more Pac advantages than any other Pac fight , CW , Small Gloves , large ring , then what version of Margo do you have after a beat down and banning for cheating coming back for a fight 2yrs later at 154 against a nobody , then straight into Pac with special conditions that all favor Pac , Manny has the commercial clout to force fighters to do anything for a fight , Pac takes advantage of that by enforcing things that hurt the opponent Floyd doesnt , FMJ had JMM come up to him that doesnt hurt a fighter the way forcing them down does its a totally different ball park as far as health goes .
