Dont have the link but I read here in BS recently. I think that if Mayweather really wont face PAC, Freddie will urge his ward to go for the middleweight title of no. 3 P4P Sergio Martinez. OMFG that'll be an awesome way to leave the sport.
Bet it would be at a catchweightz last two titles won (Cotto 145) (Margarito 150) if he fights Sergio it has to be at 160. Man the f*ck up Pacquiao. 3 titles in a row at catchweights would be some sucker sh*t.
Im tired of yours and other haters bull****.
Make up yall ****ing mind.
Now that roach is thinking about fighting Martinez, now pacquaio has to fight him at 160. Really what happen with the whole pacquaio dont need to fight martinez at 160 and martinez can come down to 154. Now they they are thinking about the fight now pacquaio need to man up and go to 160 even though pacquaio is currently at his 7 weight class while other boxers are too ***** to move up 3 weight class.
Then i see some dumbass in this thread saying pacquaio need to man up and lose weight like every other boxers and go down to 140. Outside of bradley, nobody at 140 is a threat to pacquaio or floyd. Really Pacquaio works out every day and don't balloon up. Guess who else is fit and dont balloon up on weight......Bradley, Floyd and Hopkins.
And who gives a **** about worthless titles. The only thing im counting is pacquaio lineal title record because those ABC titles lost theirs meaning along time ago. And if pacquaio fight martinez as his retirement fight at 154....then i give more props, because nobody around 140-147 has the balls to fight martinez.
He fought DLH without any catchweights, at 147.
this^^^^^
people should stop branding the oscar dela hoya vs pacquiao fight a catchweight because it isnt.
What part of the mutual agreement between two parties in a catchweight fight don't you understand?
• DLH wanted to fight Pacquiao and a catchweight fight went on, did Pacquiao force DLH (who wanted this fight in the first place) to fight?
• Pacquiao fought Hatton, Diaz, Cotto, Clottey and Margarito....was anyone ever forced fight beyond their intentions?
CATCHWEIGHT is between two boxers of different weight classes. Pacquiao, when he first ventured into WW, it was something new...Catchweight fights are the most logical way.
Now his body hast gotten acclimated within the 147 range...he doesn't need a catchweight to fight Mosley. But it wasn't that way back then.
So if it is unfair then why didn't his opponents back out? Simple, they're all fair and mutual agreements.
Maybe I would be giving you too much credit by saying that you couldn't believe the **** you spew.
Cotto protested the weight-after they threw enough money his way, then he finally agreed. He didn't want that weight stating concerns. Tony looked so lean that he couldn't break a sweat...which makes sense seeing as he fought at 154 prior.Shane will probably dry out to 147 as well, even though his recent fight was 154.See the trend? Eventually there comes a point where you can see this as an advantage for Manny or you can pluck your eyes out of your skull and convince yourself that this is a "fair" fight..
To finalize your question as to why they didn't back out is because of money-plain and simple.Of course neither you or I should be concerned with money that they make, but we should be concerned about these guys fighting without cheap advantages so that we can see a fair fight without the asterik victories.
The Oscar fight is not one that I can blame Manny for-everyone wants to fight ODLH as he brings fame, but to fight Oscar at 147 and later fight Cotto under that limit is a pure disgrace and one to gain an advantage-you would be oblivious to deny it.
To ask Shane to make 142 when Shane begged for a fight (before the Cotto/Manny fight)was also B.S...of course now that Shane is proven to be past his used by date, they want the fight. For me,Manny should be facing the better competition since he is P4P...he wouldn't even be draining down to make JWW,why not fight there (before you think I am suggesting he would lose in this division,I am not.I am implying that the competition would be better suited for him since he seems to weight in less than 144 on average)?
Why blame pac for that, it was delahoya who challenged pac and agreed on the weight. Hoya tried to bring speed by coming in light, he was just outgunned. Hoya was used to fighting a slow pace where he can think out his moves. Guess what, pac takes his opponents to a pace they can't cope with, does not give them time to think. Just shows how dense Hoya actually is. By the way that fight wasn't for a title.
Save your breath, he already pledge his allegiance to Haterz Forever! http://www.emoticons4u.com/happy/1202.gif
Yea roach sees a lots of things but what I saw was a starving oscar in the ring, what's the point of winning titles if the opponent is drained..oscar looked sick that night just go watch the video and look at his physic..I don't think martinez would be stupid enough to come in drained.

Winning another title at a catch weight really does mean nothing, the quality of the opponent is what matters and no way in hell they will risk putting Pac in there with Martinez.
Fukk the belt! Pacquiao vs. Martinez at 154! Same day weigh-in, old school. An hour or two before the main event! :boxing:

Yeah, and it was just as much bs then, as it is now. Titles should not be on the line in catchweight fights, period. If you fight for a 154lbs title, the weight limit MUST be 154lbs, IMO. Otherwise, don't make it a title fight, end of story.
I never consider Pac as an 8-division champ, not in my book anyways. As for the Margarito fight, it was a just a fight at 150 at first, no belts involved.Sort of a testing ground for Pacquiao at the higher weights. Pacquiao agreed to a 150 fight as a courtesy for Margarito, who couldn't make 147 anymore, and we all know that Margo fought 99% of his fights as a welterweight. The dollar hungry Sulaiman found a way to make a quick buck, as he happen to have a WBC Jr. Middleweight belt lying in his closet somewhere, Bob Arum took the bait. He even shouldered the fee so that he can sell this fight as Pacquiao's quest for an unprecedented 8th belt in as many divisions. Bob Arum the promoter was right all along, he's here to make money for himself first, and his boxers second. His gamble paid off. We can blame him for the catchweight fight until our lips bleed dry, it wouldn't matter to him though and he will just laugh his a$$ off on his way to the bank...
Pac's accomplishments are already so far ahead of anyone else in the sport of boxing that they should change the name of "boxing" to "Pacquiao"
And whats scary is he hasn't even reached his prime yet he shows more skill in one round than most fighters show in their entire careers.
Haters gonna hate.

any other boxing rules you want to invent?
154 is a MAXIMUM limit to fight for JMW/SWW, NOT A MINIMUM. Jesus you are so thick.
thats all fine and dandy, but, do catch weights honestly count for a weight class now???
Before you ask Pacquiao that question, you should ask Kid Lavigne, Joe Walcott, Joe Gans, Battling Nelson, Henry Armstrong, Ceferino Garcia, Whitaker, JCC, Leonard, Lalonde, Dela Hoya, BHop and a bunch of other guys that question first. They did it before Pacquiao, just in case you didn't know...
No the problem is there's too many weight divisions as is ... There shouldn't be a manny weight division which is most convenient for him as well. And with jmm it's not what manny should do, it's that jmm has proven he's not a Viable ww. Ya manny can fight him 147 but the fight only means something right now at 135lb.
I think there are too many weight classes too, and weigh-ins should be on the same day as the fight.
Even if you're not one of them, there are many haters out there that believes what I wrote before.
JMM lost a fight, to one of the best fighters in this era. It didn't necessarily prove that he can't be competitive at WW.

pac has no business at MW...
I agree...though a shot towards immortality and legacy this would be something....at least he would try and he should be given more than a credit because it is unprecedented.
But yeah, he has not business in MW. JMW, a big maybe still....unless it is a catchweight.
Haven't we already seen enough of Manny with the catchweights? Why doesn't he shrink himself down like his opponents have? Better yet,why not fight in a deeper more talented division where the opponents aren't at this disadvantage.I am sure Manny can make 140,yet chooses to fight in the weaker division.
His catchweights aren't as nonchalant as you make them out to be.He has used them as a means to gain advantage...he knows firsthand that losing weight can be a disadvantage because Manny himself was ktfo when he tried cutting weight.

I don't have any problem with catchweights...it's a mutual agreement and no one is being forced, it is right in-between two boxers' weight and then some.
I'd say, PACQUIAO - keep on fighting until you can't anymore. Let boxing sort it out after you retired.
Just go for the max....
