The Mcgregor fans had all sorts of deluded ideas before the fight and now they are looking for reasons to boost Mcgregor. The man is not a boxer and he did it for the money. Put him in with Lara or Canelo at 154, fighters of equal size and you have yourself an early dominating stoppage. Mcgregor wasn't in with the best boxer currently, as with the facts stated above - he was in with one of the greatest of this generation and the most famous, but not currently the best by any shot - at least on fair terms. Imagine if this fight was at 147?? If Mcgregor thinks he's good get in with Charlo, Lara or Canelo at 154. He fought at 145 in the UFC so why didn't he fight Floyd at 147? because he wouldn't have a 20 lb weight advantage thats why.

Commentating was pretty bad on Jones part And even outside of effective punching ( which kovalev win) he also pressed the action while Ward ran and held. Robbery in my book. The problem with mayweather is he has found a way to beat the system, but not beat the boxer in front of him. There are a couple of reasons for this: In Vegas they don't score draw rounds. If mayweather lands 3 more jabs, they give it to him. If nothing happens, he gets in by default. Running shouldn't be discriminated against since the sport is about hitting and not being hit. The real problem is when floyd buys time and kills 2 minutes of a round by staying away, then wins the round with about 30 seconds of activity. These are 2 factors why people say he dominates (on the cards) but in reality he hasn't wooped anyone. In theory I can see why pacquiao felt robbed, floyd was winning rounds by running, clinching and landing sometimes a single grazing right hand near the end to pick up a round that should have been a draw. I also question how anyone could have given floyd the first maidana fight? He certainly lost the first 6 rounds and maybe won 2 rounds near the end.

Most of the guys Klitschko fights are not even real heavyweights, they are fat middle weights. Barkley looks like one of the heavyweights of today at 229, most fools would say heavyweights are bigger than in the past as if this holds some kind of merit. For example, how is Joe Louis a small heavyweight at 200 lbs 6'2 but lean and ripped. When he retired and got soft I bet he blew up past 250 and still didn't look as fat as some of the guys in the ring today. A guy like Chris Areolla would be a 200 lb heavyweight back in the day, if he was lean and shredded. enough said. The real big men have bigger bone structure and natural muscle mass, not this oxygen sucking lifted muscle that isn't proportionate to the heart and lungs they were born with. Or all the blubber that allows these guys to come in at 250.

he'll give him a good fight, but his chances of winning have long since diminished. Rios is a guy Pacquiao would have stopped a few years ago. He was hurting Rios with every punch he threw, there were plenty of times Pacquiao spun him and could have jumped on him and layed into his face. this is how he busted up DLH and Cotto, he hits you really hard, makes you cover up, spins you.when you open up to see whats going on he hits you again and overwhelms you. Marquez figured this out and he never lets pac spin him, he caught him coming in the last time. By removing this ability out of safety however, Pacquiao took away one of his biggest strengths. A lot of fights wont be able to time that, Marquez spent 4 fights figuring that shot out..... Then again he's almost 35 and physical fighters should change their styles. so maybe its a good thing

I go to boxingscene.com and see articles like "Mayweather dominates Canelo" "Garcia beats up Matthysse" I saw both those fights too, that's pretty far fetched to call Mayweather dominating Canelo, Mayweather won and deservedly so - but he didn't dominate anyone. most rounds he won by landing 3 more jabs, jabs with nothing behind them. Canelo slipped and rolled the majority of Mayweather punches all night long, Mayweather slipped and rolled pretty much all of Canelos. That fight was a technical show down and Mayweather edged him. He didn't dominate ****. The MD didn't shock me at all. As for Garcia vs Matthysse? Garcia ran the majority of the night while Matthysse tried to make it a fight. Once again I'd edge the fight to Garcia, but let's see a rematch. Take away Mattysse's bad luck and give him a few rounds for actually making this a fight, and I'd see it going in his favor, he's the better boxer. I will say though, Garcia taking those punches from Matthysse was pretty impressive.

fanboys aside, does anyone actually see how great of a fight this could be? I hear some say domination from both sides, especially from the Mayweather side. I honestly don't see that though. The biggest argument is Floyd is a counter puncher like Marquez - who gave Pacquiao all he could handle, but people fail to see that Marquez fights a completely different style than Mayweather. Mayweather is defensive first, if you throw more than one punch he'll instinctively block as opposed to Marquez who trades in between punches. Saying Mayweather is a better counter puncher than Marquez = win is like saying Pacquiao hit's harder than Cotto = win. It's a one dimensional point of view. People also forget Marquez has now fought Pacquiao a total of 36 rounds. There is a big difference. Although Mayweather has a laser right hand which I'm sure would land on Pacquiao, there is also the huge factor that Pacquiao simply works every single round and never gives him a chance to fire back. Cotto did this for certain rounds but everyone knows Cotto fades and I called it by round 5 - he was fighting out of his element. In fact, I think thats probably how Mayweather figured he'd knock him out, only he underestimated his boxing skill and the fact that Cotto has the best jab in the sport imo. The other thing is the unorthodox style of Pacquiao, Cotto employed some interesting combinations to screw up Floyds defense. It worked from time to time. These are all things Pacquiao does on a regular basis, round after round in high speed. Then there is power, After watching Shane soak up Canelos punches for 12 rounds and not take a step back, it sort of puts in perspective how hard Pacquiao is hitting. How will Mayweathers face hold up? Pacquiao will certainly land, he's too fast and accurate himself not to. Mayweather on the other hand, has length, accuracy and an amazing set of eyes. Pacquiao being shorter and having average defense means he will possibly run into some hella accurate counters and it would be up to his chin to make sure those didn't add up. But at the end of the day, we know Pacquiao can take a punch. So I've come to the conclusion it will probably be a war. Not a domination by anyone.

the guy isn't massive. He's bigger than them, but he had to bulk up to fight Pavlik. A shot Pavlik. I don't know why either of these guys won't give him a shot it would make the general public think they are monsters for taking him down. I think Both of them can handle him. Pacquiao lights him up and Floyd lands his right cross all night long, frustrates him by avoiding all his telegraphed punches as well. I swear fools just join up misinformed about drug tests and throw it out there because they heard something on espn. Pacquiao takes a drug test every single time he fights, every boxer has too. so, "take the test" is out of the question. What Floyd wants is Pacquiao to take further testing, just because Pacquiao is so good he doesn't believe it. Other wise, why does he suddenly think Pacquiao is using enhancements? Testing that takes place the entire time all throughout camp. Who the hell would want that, getting random blood tests just because some annoying boxer named Floyd wants you to?. On top of that, Pacquiao weighs 1-2 lbs more than he did at LW. He just doesn't cut as much weight. That pretty much takes steroids off the list now. Steroids aren't even a drug that benefits boxers. Most of the boxers that have been busted for PED's usually used things that really wouldn't have made much of a difference come fight night. Like things to help a boxer make weight. Mainly Mayweather fans, but anyone with half a sense knows Pacquiao can put Marquez away inside 3 rounds at 147. The only significance of this fight is to show those remaining fools that you can't use a prime 130 lb Marquez as an example to why Mayweather will beat Pacquiao (since he wooped Marquez at 147). Just the same way you can't use the excuse that a 17 year old Pacquiao got stopped with a body shot. The only fight he's legit lost was against Morales and there is a huge cause for him being green to the max considering how wild and one dimensional he was.

it was his family that basically made him a champion, it's obvious he doesn't give a **** about proving anything. He just wants the most money and the easiest fight. He only fought Hatton because he thought he saw an easy fight that would bring in a lot of money, only turns out it was a hard fight for him. He fought Marquez at welterweight because it was an easy fight that gave him a lot of money, and some weak bragging right that he wooped the guy that gave Pacquiao such a tussle. Mayweather isn't going to fight Pacquiao because he can make money in other fights and doesn't give a **** about being the best or proving to the fans. As long as he's got that 0, lots of fans will think he'd never lose regardless (even if he almost got his ass knocked out by an old man). Pacquiao right now is a huge risk for Mayweather, the fight will not happen.

the fact is he's the slowest WW in the game right now that people know about, and Pacquiao is damn near the quickest. I can't see Margaritos face holding up. Pacquiao is a dangerous puncher and he throws a lot. Margarito looks very slow in training, they say he's in great shape but he isn't half as quick as he was even against Cotto. Just look at Margs last fight. Tremendously slow and no sign of any punching power w/o that plaster.

this will be the most brutal domination since his fight with Hatton. I always knew Hatton would go down easy to pac even when he was at 130. I know Margarito will to. It will be nothing like the Clottey fight. 3 reasons, Margarito is very slow, he can't counter punch - and his defense sucks big time. I see a knock out in 4 or 5 rounds.

Manny has just got better moving up in weight, Marquez has only declined. If he never got him with his reflexes were sharp and in his prime weight class, why would he be able to contend at 140+? Manny will walk through his punches and end him inside 3 rounds.

I wish we could see a rematch. Barrera was adjusting in that fight and actually wobbled Khan at one point. Had it not been for the clash of heads and the massive gash Barrera could have turned things around.
