I haven't started sparring and haven't started my amateur career yet, I've been training for about 2 months now... but when I'm hitting the bag I have a really powerful Right Jab, Right Hook, Left straight (southpaw)
Jeff Lacy is a real good fighter with a lot of potential... I am a fan of Lacy but I also think that he can do much better than he does... If he can just bring himself to the next level then I can see him being a real problem for the 168 weight class.
I'm sure alot of people have told this to ESPN (who is taking the show over for the 2006 season) and maybe they will show the whole fight.... overall, since the Contender didnt have great ratings last season, obviousely ESPN is gonna make alot of changes to make it more interesting... if they are smart they will completely redo the whole show to make it more intense..
As a boxer (I don't know if you are or not, but you must NOT be), it's not right at all to make the smallest type of joke about Johnson's condition... What goes around comes around.. and I find it hard to believe that your a serious fighter if your making a joke about this subject...
The fact that the fights were put off live to continue to watch a rather pointless College Football game is proof of ESPN's commitment, as well as the fan's enthusiasm (or lack there of) for the sport.
That has nothing to do with it... it's a contract issue... they can't just shut a game off the gamblers would wild out
In the ring is where it counts, I never bang a guy for who he is in private. It just doesnt do anything for his rating in my book.
What about when he gets his ass rag dolled around the ring for 6 out of 8 rounds and then not only claims the win... but won't even give Manfredo credit for cutting him open with a punch and says HE HEADBUTTED HIM!!!
Beethavean Scottland was killed in the ring by George Khalid Jones in June of 2001... he was put into a coma in the ring and died about a week later... this was also televised on ESPN...
