The peterson robbery, then the cancelation of the rematch because he was roiding followed by devestating knockout loss to Garcia majorly set him back. Realise he is rebuilding his confidence after that along with a new trainer who is teaching khan to implement a new style, give him time. Some fighters are never the same after setbacks like ortiz, berto etc so its wise to be cautious. The diaz fight was decent at the time considering Diaz in accordance to most people beat Porter the first time. The knockdown in that fight was tangle of feet, he wasn't hurt at all. I think he has come back really well and was exceptional against Collazo who is a legitimate big solid WW who came of a brutal ko of ortiz.
Personally I wanted Khan-Pacquiao but Arum didn't want any of that. Guerrero is an easy fight, he's slow, doesn't have power, looked finished vs Kamegai, Khans gonna win by an easy UD. Oh and he does crossfit :/ terrible.
Why is Kamegai a "bum"? He was 24-1 and his loss was by decision. He was sporting a KO % of 78% (21 KO's) heading into that fight. Khan struggled with Diaz just two fights ago and got dropped. He also got stunned by Collazo when he finally decided it was time to let his hands go.
This is a bad matchup for Khan. Guerrero won't give him distance, he will force him into the ropes, put his head in Khan's chest and tee off on him with head and body shots every single round. How long do you think Khan will be able to stand up to that....4, 5 rounds?
Have you seen the opposition he racked those KOs with, absolutely terrible. Khan only struggled from the 10th onwards he was in cruise control before that appart from the knockdown which was more of tangled feet than him being hurt, his legs were fine when he got up. Your reaching a bit thinking Collazo had him stunned aren't you? He won every round, knocked him down three times. THis is an easy matchup for Khan, Guerrero is slow on his feet, flat footed, has no hand speed, no power, is getting old, khans gonna run circles around him and UD him. As if this Khan is going to let him just tee off on the ropes lol. Slowbert has no chance.
Guerrero: Sole loss in last 10 years was to Floyd while traversing 4 weight classes
Khan: 3 losses in past 8 years, 2 by KO, dropped several times by lesser opposition in basically one weight class.
Guerrero is going to hurt Khan and drop him.
2 Legit losses, Peterson doesn't count he was roiding. Khans resume is miles better than Guerreros. Guerrero looked shot vs Kamegai and he has no power to trouble khan, he has no power.
Value to whom?
The only single value he has is with the UK fan base that doesn't know the difference between a valued American fighter and a valued UK fighter. Khan has Zero Value in the U.S...IMO..
PRPP:boxing:
If he had zero value he wouldn't have a contract with showtime and headlining events....
Dirk you seem to believe Hearns side of the story in the Brook-Rios negotiations even though you made a full thread slagging him of not long ago and ignore the Rios camp. Khan was never going to fight Brook this year either, he's had nothing but Mayweather in mind all year. If Brook doesn't fight credible opponents until summer 2016 dont expect Khan to face him either. Gavin was a quick tune up for a big summer showdown with a good opponent, Alexander, Algieri aren't coming to UK unless they get paid handsomely, since Brook makes 200k per fight you can forget about them. Chaves is the only option really, he is cheap but lets be honest Bradley beat him and got done by the judges, THurman destroyed him and he broke every rule in the book vs Rios and got DQ'd.
Looks like Box-Office has reigned in the troops for a re-think of strategy after that massacre they just suffered :lol1:
Meantime, does anyone actually have any thoughts on Brook's next opponent?
Realistic options seem to be - Chaves, Alexander, Provodnikov, Algieri, Guerrero.
Bradley and Sadam Ali are both in the top 10 but fighting each other. Thurman and Garcia won't be coming to the UK.
What is the situation with Marcos Maidana?
It's hard to see Alexander, Guerrero, ALgieri coming to the UK for anything under 500k minimum, Hearn can simply not give them that much imo. None of those fights are ppv worthy either. Provodnikov is a 140lber, Chaves is the only one they can bring over and pay peanuts and its not a very good fight, he's lost a few, got a gift vs Bradley for a draw and is a very dirty fighter that may likely get DQ'd.
Dirk Diggler actually thinks he's scoring points? LMAO!
The dude needs a reality check. No one who is obsessed with Khan like this, literally wasting their whole life on something so lame, is a winner in anything. When one looks at Dirk someone who has freaking over 45,000 posts(holy shlt!!), on stupid shlt like his imaginary rivalry with Khan, all they do is laugh.
Especially when you remember Dirk was just as an angry defender of Khan. Like is their anything more schizophrenic then that? He genuinely must be mentally unstable.
Dirk is just a profoundly pathetic, and a sad person. He embarrasses himself over and over, usually just by being stupid, but it's more through how pathetic of a loser he is. All of this is obvious.
But his insistence that he is cool, or kicking anyone's ass is where delusion comes into at as well. Being a pathetic loser is not winning Dirk. You have no life at all. Freaking 45,000 posts! And all of it this lame shlt? You are literally one of the biggest losers I have ever encountered online. You really really need to go outside, talk to people. Or just enjoy ranting and raving away the rest of your life.
He snorts cocaine of 6's, unless you've done that you aint as cool as the Dirk meister.
Kell should beat him on points, keith loads up too much and runs around too much wasting energy. I would back Khan, Brook and Porter all to beat Thurman also.
Ofcourse he did, Andre berto ffs lmao. He just struggled with Lopez for 5 rounds getting outboxed before the knockout. Every press member laughed when his name was mentioned, he clearly ducked Khan and Berto doesn't even bring in much money or hold a title, it was simply because Berto is garbage.
Brook beat Porter by 2 or 3 rounds. I think Porter is salty because Brook won't give him the rematch. He was ready for may 30th but instead Brook fought Frankie Gavin.... Thurman was willing to fight Brook a month later also.
He beat Alexander....a year after he turned him down.
Had he fought him in December 2013 for the IBF belt he'd have likely got Floyd over Maidana.
Doubt it. Floyd just picked Berto over Khan. He was never going to fight Khan regardless of when or who he fought.
Brook is covering the fights tonight, don't think he's said anything about it. I thought Chaves was most likely though
Brook looks like he's been eating well as usual.
Anybody saying that he would have got the may fight if he had fought Brook need to explain how Berto got it then.... It honestly didn't mattter if Khan beat Alexander for the title or if he had fought Brook this summer, Mayweather was never going to fight him.
Well you've just made that up.
I really haven't both have said it that they were willing. Brook will never give Porter a rematch and Hearn would never let him fight Thurman.
He turned down an unsuitable deal. Let's make the fight now that they're both champions and see what's really what.
Also had the Maidana fight, turned that down. Then all those names he had for may 30th turned them all down for Gavin.
