Seeing the Bradley/Provo thread got me interested in the feedback to this fight.
Maybe not classic in the sense that it was monumental or a FOTY, but in terms of hype and action inside the ring, I'd file it under a cult classic IMO; two warriors going to war, great re-watch value alongside the aforementioned Bradley fight.
Love or hate Broner, everybody loved this fight in particular.
Nothing better than Maidana returning the grind at the end of the fight after dropping and punking Broner twice throughout. :boxing:
It was one of the most enjoyable nights of boxing. Watching that street punk Broner getting his ass kicked by the man Maidana. Wish Maidana would come out of retirement and do it all over again. Great stuff.
He coulda got Maidana disqualified but he didn't. He was buying time to recover. Great veteran tactics by a young loin. He still finished strong and didn't quit on his stool look Duran, Chavez Sr, or De La Hoya
"Great veteran tactics" aren't you the guy who didn't know what a 1-2 was?

Maidana didn't throw a jab until the 3rd portion of the fight
Maidana set up the first knockdown by jabbing Broner to the body repeatedly, then disguised a huge hook as a jab. It was quality.
AB showing a warrior's heart after jumping a full two weight classes. Got up off the canvas twice to finish the fight and had some success in the fight. Never quit on his stool like these other fighters ya'll call warriors
he did try to quit you know
Only 2 things have ever brought NSB together since I joined.
One was CJ Ross's scorecard for the Alvarez fight. The other was Broner getting his ass whipped by Maidana.

I want to watch it again, any help to find it?
Arena posted the full fight here, otherwise I posted some decent highlights. It's surprising to me but this fight isn't easily found on Youtube, not good versions anyway, and it should be.

It was definitely a classic, for several reasons, and an epic fight aside from that. A memorable night indeed. One of those fights where if you weren't already a boxing fan, you missed out big time, rewatching it isn't the same as live. If that was your first fight, it probably made you a fan, and if it didn't then boxing isn't for you.
