I think he would be a top 5 p4p fighter and top 3 when Manny and Floyd retire. It's a shame he lets himself get dragged into wars because he can't effectively move around the ring. I think this kid needs a Freddie roach or Robert Garcia at this point to get him out of his bad habits. He did look better tonight with the high guard instead of the half ass shoulder roll though which is good.
And props to him for calling out Lucas and other fake champs fighting bums lol.
I agree, somewhat.
Some kind of head movement would do wonders. Dude just lays his head to one side or just pulls back with it in the air.
If he worked on that he could become great, sadly I think it's to late.
His Problem is when he "MOVES", he is AWFUL off of his Backfoot, I don't get why he tries to do it. When he comes Forward or keep the fight in the middle of the ring and use his Hand Speed he is a totally different fighter
This is kind of what I meant...move forward, let his hands of with those great combinations and move out...he shoots his combos then stands there and takes 4-5 shots in return like a dummy...and gets backed into the corners at will...I personally think he could refine his game and learn to be a smarter fighter but he seems like he thinks he's already at the top even after being hum bled by Maidana. I'm not a fan of his per say and I can't stand his out of the ring antics but IDK, maybe I'm crazy? But I see talent in him.

Top 5- no, no, no. Maybe top 25, in his division! If Taylor had power he would've put Boner on his ars! He needs a trainer that will not give in to him. He is running his camp not the trainer, similar to cotto when he was with Pedro Diaz. I hope he does get in the ring with the machine- he'll get knocked out by round 7

Broner isn't anything special. He has speed but he throws the same punches over and over again and admires his work too much. If he could move, he would do even worse because he uses his upper body to throw punches from the elbows and having your feet planted allows you to generate power. If he were to be on the move, he would lose his power and people would walk through him and just beat him down.
Maidana was bullrushing in the beginning and kept Broner from setting his feet. The more he's forced to move, the more ordinary he looks. He fights like a tank because that's the only way he knows how to effectively utilize his speed/power. He needs to learn how to punch while on the move, kinda like Frampton was doing against Martinez.
Where does this idea that Broner is a special fighter come from? His skills are not that good. Good speed but gets hit constantly.
He's a good solid fighter, contender, a titleholder ONLY if matched properly.
Stick him to the Emmanuel Taylor type competition and he'll shine. But that's it.
Just because he used to remind people of Mayweather doesn't mean he actually is anywhere near Floyd's level.
Broner is only 25 so he still has time to get better unlike Berto and Matthysee. Both are 31 and haven't beaten any A level fighter. Poor Matthysee he's lost to A B and was almost stopped by a C-level fighter in Jon Molina. I think Matthys done at world level wouldn't you agree?
Maybe we should yell for Broner-Molina and use their respective results to see who would fare better in a fight between themselves? I know triangle theories don't always work but for the sake of seeing who can do better against a bigger, power punching C-level fighter, I'm all for it.
Taylor was not a hard puncher, neither was Molina. When you go from fighting soft punching guys, where you aren't too concerned about what is coming back at you, to a guy that can drop you with one punch, your game plan changes completely. If you aren't prepared for that kind of a fight, then you are dead in the water heading in.

Not much of a right hand but an outstanding left hand! Hooks underneath and comes across with his hook beautifully! he moves fine he just doesn't have his "Methods" for moving established yet or maybe he never does!
he has very good hand/eye coordination's and has all the speed he needs!
His PROBLEM ...is FOCUS!
His trainer is a very good teacher but Broner may need another "voice" in his ear. His trainer gave him excellent advice all night and took good care of his fighter. Sometimes a new voice gain add FOCUS!
Broner acts like a fool and maybe he is a jerk in life but he has a lot of talent and good enough skills. He simply needs to add Methods to go along with Techniques and a huge addition would be to utilize his right hand. First thing is to learn to pronate the shot so the shoulders and hips twist would mean something. He slaps a lot with the "right hook" whatever that is!!!!!!!! HA!!!
The trainer taught him well but all these guys wind up doing what they want to
If you watch the Miadana fight you'll see Broner getting hit and hurt and when some others would have bailed he hung in there and actually did some good work too! No shame in that loss it was against a guy who will soon fight the best welter for a second chance. Broners loss to Maidana is what he needed just as the young man who lost to him last night will realize. Only fans think theres such a thing as "shame" or "disgrace" silly fans they don't know **** to begin with.

Broner is just not that good! I don't see why some people can't grasp that. He's just a little better than Berto was at his best. Both guys have great heart, in Broner's case a better chin. I enjoy watching both fight, but it's all flash and no substance.
If I were in Broner's camp I would push more towards a fight with Peterson or Garcia. Matthysse is going to hurt him. Broner's problems are not limited to his footwork, he also slaps his punches, leaves his hands out, doesn't counter off the ropes, etc.

I don't think Lucas was ever world level. He's fun to watch but lost to zab Judah, which is never a good thing. Broner can get better but hes had close battles with guys that others have destroyed(ponce vs juanma) and lost to a guy who was schooled by devon and lost a close fight to Floyd. My point is, he should be dominating guys like ponce, Taylor, etc hes not, and when he's stepped he got beat up, gave a valiant effort, but beat nonetheless.
AB is just a very average fighter, and unfortunately for his fans there's zero evidence to prove otherwise. That's not to say he doesn't have some ability, but he's an easy problem to solve and there's a long list of guys at 140/47 who should be able to do fairly easily. I know the al haymon marketing machine is a fun ride sometimes but it doesn't make for quality boxers.
Lmao, no, he will never be a top p4p. Cant wait till he gets his jaw busted from leaving his mouth open all the damn time.
Pretty sure that's already happened....
Maidana left him battered.
Haters gonna hate but it's clear to anyone with two eyes that Broner is super talented. He needs new trainers. When he lets his hands go and moves laterally he is a dynamic fighter and would be a tough fight for anyone. Unfortunately he stands in the pocket and against the ropes and lets his opponent get off way too often. Is it impossible to actually add something new to your game at the point of his career he's at? I don't think so..

He lacks defensive fundamentals but roach is offensive minded trainer . Virgil hunter probably be better
