I agree with most of what you said.
But mandatories are important for the sport because it gives new comers a shot at the belts. The belts are important because they earn you historical recognition. They also earn you more money which is the whole goal of the sport. If you were in the mandatory's shoes you'd see things differently.
Being that Canelo is honoring it in a quick turn around fight makes him a good guy I'm my book. He's doing this guy a favor. Haters like the OP and the clowns that are agreeing are the dumb asses that don't even like Canelo to begin with and all they are trying to is make a feable attempt to discredit Canelo to make it seem like whatever trash fighter they support is better..
ENOUGH SAID!!!!
Stop making sense. You are wasting your time.
A sore loser? Please.
They should file a complaint.
Whether it goes anywhere is beside the point.
Put them on the spot.
Robbery should not be the norm.
The belt belongs to Fury.
Wilders performance really disappointed me
You were probably disappointed with George Foreman as well against Ali!!
Fury reduced him to a rank amateur.
When a fighter lives and dies by his power this can happen when he runs into an opponent who is a good boxer and is not afraid of him.
There were moments in the fight when i felt embarrassed for Wilder as he telegraphed his right hand punch time and time again.
Fury doesn't deserve a rematch, and likely won't get one. Wilder is still the champ and now has bigger fish to fry. Fury had his chances, Wilder was there to be beaten and he couldn't capitalize. This is the fight-game, not goodwill... team Wilder is not obligated to give Fury any handouts.
I think you are right.
Fury needs to realize winning in the ring is not enough, he needs to pay the judges as well!!
He probably missed that memo!!
Respect to Kovalev!!
Never though i would see the day when the Krusher would put on a boxing clinic while Alvarez was doing his best impersonation of Broner.... not letting his hands go!!
Who cares what happens in Tyson v Wilder.
What matters is that this CON is getting attention regarding all the nonsense he is spewing!!
Boxing Scene must really be hurting for stories to write about.
I guess you can talk about coming "close" to becoming when you go up against a Parker.
Try that against a Wilder or Joshua and see how that works out for you!!!
Right now Broner is making me shake my head due to his celebrating so much for getting a draw against a fringe contender.
The "fringe" contender was the heavy fav. and most said he would stop AB and end his career.
Not sure why Khan is messing around and risking a real $$$$ fight with Brook that is begging to be made.
Make the Brook fight now before it is tooo late.
Meaningless titles? .. Yes.. plenty of that to go around these days.
Greatness.... that only comes with time. Its not something one can shove down anyone's throat. Its always about he resume and that comes with time.
Like him or hate him, Wilder has to be any fighter's worse nightmare!!
Maybe Usyk should have tested himself against Dominic Breazeale instead of a semi retired fighter salvaged from dormancy.
Old Axiom...Boxer Beats A Puncher...
When all things seem equal..
.Holds true Here Too....!
And to that you can also add the Old Axiom about a good "little" boxer v a good "big" boxer.
Lets see if Usyk can prove himself against a young live motivated HW then we can start talking about risking his life against Wilder!!
Last night's sparring session does not count.
Looks Like a Hit and not be Hit Dude to me...
Olympic Gold...Good Pedigree...
Some Great Heavies have weighed under 200 pounds...
Cant argue with that.
Now if he has a quarter of the heart of Evander Holyfield ... then he is going to make some noise otherwise he has to be matched carefully!!
Imagine anyone being scared of facing ........Tyson ....................Fury.
My oh my!!!
Tyson Fury is a highlight reel KO waiting to happen.
And they picked on the "right" man for the job in Wilder.
Hope he is getting paid good retirement money.
Funny those who say BJS is skeeerreed... taking an easy fight to get an easy belt... when that scenario plays itself out all the time in boxing, yet very few ever mention it until it's BJS. Did you ever think just maybe he'd go after other belts after he gets solid footing at SMW? Geez, I'd rather salute the guy for daring to reach the heights. Better than being another Wilder and fighting 3 dozen cans. A BJS/Truax fight would be a great one for the fans, as well as subsequent fights from Saunders.
Well said.
His critics all sound like a broken record!!
BJS did not get any love pre Lemoo.
Not surprised he is not getting any AFTER.
The man has options.
Whats not to like about a man wanting to go up to contest for another belt?
Say what you want about Caleb, as he proved in the last fight, fights are not won on paper and this will make for an interesting scrap if it comes off.
Not at all bad for 2 fighters who were both written off in their last fights!!
Haters will hate!!
Jacobs can call out Charlo or Demetrius in the meantime.
Respect to Ortiz...a big man who can really fight.
No wonder he had been avoided like the plague.
Bigger respect to Wilder who choose to fight Ortiz who was not even a mandatory.
As i had said before if the Ortiz who beat Jennings showed up, Wilder was in for a long night. THAT Ortiz showed up and some more.
Here is hoping Ortiz gets another money fight.
Wilder passed the test with flying colors no matter what his detractors say.
40-0 with 39KOs is no accident when you have a RIGHT hand like he does.
There is POISON on that right hand.
Keep betting against him!!
He just needs to learn how to use that left jab effectively instead of as a range finder.
All in all a good HW rumble.
Respect to both gladiators.
Hurd and his team took too much for granted!
They had the air of thinking victory was a given.
Even the corner work of the team left a lot to be desired.
This is the best thing to happen to Hurd and his team.
Never ever look past an opponent no matter what the media says about your opponent!
JRock finally pulled it all together and put on a masterclass and reduced Hurd to a rank amateur.
