BILLY JOE SAUNDERS wants an April showdown with James DeGale's conqueror Caleb Truax. The American pulled off a huge shock when he outpointed DeGale to rip the IBF super-middleweight belt from his grasp in London earlier this month. Chunky' is hoping for an immediate rematch in the New Year but now his old mate Saunders wants a crack at Truax too. Click Here To Read More]

Better than being another Wilder and fighting 3 dozen cans. A BJS/Truax fight would be a great one for the fans, as well as subsequent fights from Saunders.
Well said.
His critics all sound like a broken record!!
BJS did not get any love pre Lemoo.
Not surprised he is not getting any AFTER.
The man has options.
Whats not to like about a man wanting to go up to contest for another belt?
Say what you want about Caleb, as he proved in the last fight, fights are not won on paper and this will make for an interesting scrap if it comes off.
Not at all bad for 2 fighters who were both written off in their last fights!!
Haters will hate!!
Jacobs can call out Charlo or Demetrius in the meantime.
Thanx. Yeah, I theorize sometimes that haters must just lead boring lives and wanna create drama to liven it up in their eyes. No matter, Saunders is a bit strange in interviews, but true boxing fans can't really deny the man can fight. I look forward to seeing his next fights. Should be a blast.
Saunders schools Truax for IBF super-middleweight title.....
you Golovkin fans should be happy.....
IF Golovkin can get past Canelo, and that is a big " IF ".....
after he loses to Sweet Pea Saunders, he can finally move his ass to 168 and have another crack at Bill for his IBF title

good post slim
while Golovkin waited for that Canelo money, he fought Dominic Wade and a welter..... fighting Truax would be reaching for greatness compared to Golovkin's stay-busy fights
once again..... the standards are sooooo high for everyone else, but Golovkin gets a free pass
it is clearly obvious that Saunders is waiting for the Canelo/Golovkin winner..... and it is clearly obvious that fight will most likely happen next.....
..... but in the meantime, lets refer to jumping a division to fight for a genuine world-title..... a cherry-pick
whatever makes you guys feel better :):)

the obsession with moving up in weight will mean that this move is applauded on this forum but in my eyes theres better and more dangerous fights for him at middleweight. Call me cynical but saunders knows exactly what hes doing by targetting this fight.
And yet he’s been telling the whole world how he’ll kick GGG’s arse.
Do it then. Don’t run away to an easier fight.
TBH he doesn’t even look, physically, like he needs to move up. He’s hardly shredded.
If you were in the position to make millions to fight the Canlo/GGG winner, you would risk it all to fight Jacobs? Make no mistake, Canelo/GGG winner wants Saunders' belt. That fight will more than likely take place in September. It's a unification for all the marbles. You would blow a chance at that money because Jacobs is talking mean on public media? Jacobs needs to stop coasting off his GGG loss and get in line to become a mandatory. Why doesn't he fight Charlo? He scared?
Yeah this.
Jacobs is the obvious fight for him, but it potentially derails a fight with the Canelo GGG winner.
Still, I’d rather see him hang around at 160 and try and prove everything he’s been saying, than to run away to fight some Deliveroo driver at 168 for an easy belt.
Its a good move, very smart.
If Eubank beats Groves the there could be a huge unification SMW rematch summer 2018.
Only if he thinks he can go no further at 160.
If he really thinks he’s hit his peak at middleweight then yeah, go get an easy belt at SMW.

Yea pretty much agree, Well put
ZURDO vs. Saunders @ 168
Ramirez would bully him to the point he would jump right back down to 160. Too big, too strong.. Bjs would be on his bike all night
while Golovkin was waiting for Canelo..... he fought Dominic fkn Wade and a welter
please tell me how Saunders is bad, again ?
fookin hilarious :lol1:
this would be exactly the same as Golovkin wanting to fight Chudinov and Ramirez..... and they approached Chudinov TWICE
sit down b1tches !!

on this case you are absolutely right, you should move up or down when your weight class has no challenges, but doing it now it isnt very brave tbh...

Good points, but my gut feeling is that if Saunders wins the Truax fight he will stay there at super-middle.
The idea of getting hammered by Golovkin or Jacobs is starting to dawn on Saunders. He'll be going for the Adonis Stevenson route.

It's a smart move. That IBF strap would give to BJS some leverage in negotiations against 168 WBSS's winner in a big domestic fight. Also the WBO belt could secure to Saunders a fight with the winner of Canelo-GGG rematch.
Don't let a UD over Lemieux go to your head now, Billy. I fully expected Saunders not to talk about making the Jacobs fight and lo and behold there is murmurings of a move to 168.
