the obsession with moving up in weight will mean that this move is applauded on this forum but in my eyes theres better and more dangerous fights for him at middleweight. Call me cynical but saunders knows exactly what hes doing by targetting this fight. And yet he’s been telling the whole world how he’ll kick GGG’s arse. Do it then. Don’t run away to an easier fight. TBH he doesn’t even look, physically, like he needs to move up. He’s hardly shredded.

If you were in the position to make millions to fight the Canlo/GGG winner, you would risk it all to fight Jacobs? Make no mistake, Canelo/GGG winner wants Saunders' belt. That fight will more than likely take place in September. It's a unification for all the marbles. You would blow a chance at that money because Jacobs is talking mean on public media? Jacobs needs to stop coasting off his GGG loss and get in line to become a mandatory. Why doesn't he fight Charlo? He scared? Yeah this. Jacobs is the obvious fight for him, but it potentially derails a fight with the Canelo GGG winner. Still, I’d rather see him hang around at 160 and try and prove everything he’s been saying, than to run away to fight some Deliveroo driver at 168 for an easy belt.

Its a good move, very smart. If Eubank beats Groves the there could be a huge unification SMW rematch summer 2018. Only if he thinks he can go no further at 160. If he really thinks he’s hit his peak at middleweight then yeah, go get an easy belt at SMW.

GGG will vacate after Canelo , my guess. He should stick around he wont have a belt to vacate after the canelo rematch... bookmark it if you want..

The idea of getting hammered by Golovkin or Jacobs is starting to dawn on Saunders. He'll be going for the Adonis Stevenson route. It's a smart move. That IBF strap would give to BJS some leverage in negotiations against 168 WBSS's winner in a big domestic fight. Also the WBO belt could secure to Saunders a fight with the winner of Canelo-GGG rematch.
