HUGHIE FURY has put the pain of his defeat by Joseph Parker behind him. But believes coming close to becoming WBO heavyweight champion will make him a better fighter. Fury, cousin of former world heavyweight champion Tyson, will look to get back on track when he takes on British champion Sam Sexton in Bolton on May 12. Click Here To Read More]
He didn't trouble Parker at all...
Oilskin practically walked through every pillow fisted punch baby Hughie threw.
You're right he didn't, Parker looked a million bucks in there and blasted Hughie out in 3.......
Hughie is smaller, weaker, less experienced and all around inferior to Tyson and he still gave Parker trouble.

I guess you can talk about coming "close" to becoming when you go up against a Parker.
Try that against a Wilder or Joshua and see how that works out for you!!!
I give Hughie a lot of hate and well deserved criticism, but I'd like to go on record to say I think he will be world champion one day.
His main weaknesses are his work rate and lack of experience. His power will never be anything special, but he can still improve it a little with punching technique and finding his range better in fights which comes with experience.
Win, lose or draw he is going to be an awkward fighter for anyone - he is like the Isaac Chilemba of the HW division.
Having said all of that, his fight with Parker just goes to show how many levels above Tyson Fury is compared to Parker. Hughie is smaller, weaker, less experienced and all around inferior to Tyson and he still gave Parker trouble. Tyson has more power, 5 inch reach, weight, strength, experience, technical ability, footwork etc.
If that version of Parker fought Tyson Fury it would have been a whitewash 12-0 UD or Tyson Koing him
Not interested in seeing him fight ever again.
Agreed... most boring BS fight imaginable. I would rather watch Youtube videos of solo syncronised swimming.
Championship backwards running races, that's where Hughie's future glory lies.
Just imagine how bad the hw scene would be right now if fury got gifted the win over parker. The fury of the fury camp that night was very entertaining to behold. :stickp4:
Hughie is a European level fighter at best.He is a poor mans version of his cousin Tyson.Good game plan by his dad for the Parker fight for keeping him safe but never enough to win the title.Hughie would be flattened by most top guys out there.I'd even have money on Joe Joyce to hammer him.
He's actually pretty talented , British boxing is full of well conditioned boxers these days so he needs to get some muscle and start hitting harder to make it
If he let more right hands vs Parker he might have won.
That said, it is gonna be tough for him to get that title fight. Unless Wilder finds himself really scratching around for opponents and fancies chasing him for 7-8 rounds
