Brandon Rios for claiming that he beat Abril.
Guerrero vs Berto (For holding Berto's head and hitting basically UFC clinch)
Hatton vs Mayweather (For that rabbit punch)
Corrales vs Castillo (His mouthguard spitting was a cheap move... The win however was still epic)
Judah vs Khan (Judah for quitting and Khan for that weird elbow slam to keep Judah hunched over)
Roy Jones vs Green (I love Roy but I really wanted him to retire after this)
A bunch more but you guys have already mentioned them I think
Well I guess we can add Alfonso Gomez ending the great career of Arturo Gatti, since were talking last fights.
Lol man I just threw it out there since they were trolling about it why so serious? But at the very least, Hernandez had a title going into the fight while Gatti had lost them all already.
Genaro was still prime after Oscar??? :lol1: GTFOH
Whoaa whoa never said that at all, but the question was fights that ended careers literally/figuratively and Genaro retired after the Floyd fight. Hence the technically...
It'd be a good idea.
I only disagree with the weight classes. A standard difference of 10 lbs for every class between 110 and 180 is not fair in my opinion. 10lbs for a 100lbs fighter is 10% of his total body weight, while it'd be around 5% for a 180lbs fighter.
I'd go, roughly , 112lbs, 118lbs, 126lbs, 135lbs, 147lbs, 160lbs, 180lbs, 200lbs, 200+
I like the concept of taking into account proportion but 160-180 is too large of a gap.
http://www.boxingscene.com/mayweather-vs-guerrero-experts-give-their-take--46143
From 2011 LOL though he said it was a pick em, not that he had guerrero winning.
Clicked the wrong option. So much shame...
The Marquez KO of Pacquiao is a more impressive victory than any single Mayweather victory. While Floyd has had some very impressive fights he hasn't had one with as big a shock factor. It was impressive to me in the sense that it made an impression on me and is a very memorable moment. It is arguably less impressive in the boxing sense of being in awe of the skill on display. A one shot KO of one of the world's perceived best will always be more memorable than a slow domination by one of the world's perceived best of lesser competition.
this explains why Mayweather never fights outside of Vegas and why Broner wont take the tests for Paulie, wow...
It doesn't explain any of those things. You're clearly just a hater reaching really hard.
Why is this thread back?
I don't see why this is important in any measure. I think the Marquez KO of Pac is more impressive than any Pacquiao victory or any Calzaghe victory or any Ward victory. I don't see the value of comparing it directly to one person other than to discredit them. A great KO of an ATG is a great KO of an ATG.
how am i reaching?? these are all facts
Was Mickey Bey caught with drugs?? YES
Was J Leon caught with drugs?? YES
Is Broner scared to take the drug tests?? YES
the whole team is on drugs
You're reaching because none of those things explain why Mayweather never fights outside of Vegas or why Broner won't take the tests.
Were team members of Mayweather caught with drugs? Yes
Was a team member of Mayweather's caught with drugs fighting in Vegas? Yes
Floyd never fights outside of Vegas because...
Does Broner associate with Floyd? Yes
Does Floyd and his trainers train Broner? No
Broner is scared to take the drug tests because...
I fail to see how this makes me a Phlomo, its just logic. You can make the assumption of guilty by association but your "facts" don't explain a damn thing and definitely aren't concrete evidence.
All there is here is grounds for caution and suspicion. Get some more facts directly implicating the entire team and you'll open some eyes.
i think PAC stopping MAB in their first fight is just as impressive
I agree with you on the part that it was a very impressive win. On the other hand, it wasn't like he dropped MAB out cold with 1 punch. But this is too subjective and I respect your opinion.
Aside from that, I still don't think this topic has any real value and only serves to stir people up.
While I don't think Berto's chin is quite as bad as Khan's I think its pretty bad as well. He just takes a knee instead of wobbling around and galloping like a fool.
Is Linares at the elite level?
Third biggest star?
Not sure about that but he definitely has the attraction to sell his fights.
It's hard to picture Canelo losing to Cotto though since would Canelo be the biggest puncher Cotto has faced?
He's definitely up there with one of the biggest punchers he'd ever face and beating Cotto puts Canelo right on track to building a even bigger name.
I'd rather see Lara/Angulo against Canelo If he can't get Mayweather.
Well Cotto fought Floyd already, he should be just fine...
Lol.
most fans of any sport only care about there era and what you can see live, you dont criticize a football fan because you can list all the players on the '77 team of the dallas cowboys do you?
Knowing the most notable fighters of one of the greatest eras of boxing isn't quite the same as that. It would probably be closer to not knowing who Scottie Pippen or Charles Barkley are as a basketball fan.
He'll wait to see who wins Broner-Malignaggi. I'm sure he'll take a Broner fight in the US over the Mundine fight.
Why... Does he fancy himself a gatekeeper?
I don't mind catchweights if they aren't for a title. But if you want to fight a guy for his title then be a man and fight him at the division limit, dont try to handicap him.
This right here.
