Just thinking if Mayweather actually had a win to rival Marquez knocking Pacquiao out. De La Hoya was a great opponent but probably past prime + he took Mayweater to an SD. Floyd KO of Hatton took him 10 rounds, Pacquiao knocked out Hatton in 2. Can't compare Pacquiao and Hatton as fighters anyway.
What you think - that one knockout by Marquez beats any Mayweather victory? The opponent, Pacquiao, was superior and the outcome (devastating KO) was more decisive than any fight Mayweather has ever won? Guess it depends on how you look at it..
Since we're not staying on topic, it's funny that Floyd decided to fight jmm, who had just gotten to lightweight, when jmm called him out, but he didn't fight Martinez or pwill (at jmw) who also called him out and were both in p4p.
What's more impressive is Floyd easily beating an atg in Marquez. Made him look like a baby while Pac was getting knocked unconscious by the man.
The same Marquez which jumped 2 divisions and got cheated on the scales?
lol retard
i think PAC stopping MAB in their first fight is just as impressive
I agree with you on the part that it was a very impressive win. On the other hand, it wasn't like he dropped MAB out cold with 1 punch. But this is too subjective and I respect your opinion.
Aside from that, I still don't think this topic has any real value and only serves to stir people up.
one eastern team that im interested in is the Pacers...that team is STACKED...they just signed Scola to back up West
Hill / Watson
Granger / Stephenson
George / Copeland
West / Scola
Hibbert / Mahinmi
Loaded man
Yea the Pacers were nasty last year and will probably be better this year, I personally think they are the favorite this year to come out of the East.
Anyways I am out good chatting NBA with you as always
Why is this thread back?
I don't see why this is important in any measure. I think the Marquez KO of Pac is more impressive than any Pacquiao victory or any Calzaghe victory or any Ward victory. I don't see the value of comparing it directly to one person other than to discredit them. A great KO of an ATG is a great KO of an ATG.
i really like the Piston moves...Josh Smith and Brandon Jennings? along with Chauncey coming back for that veteran voice?
you guys suddenly got MUCH more interesting than last season's squad...Monroe is a beast in the making, i see you guys battling for 8-5 seed
as for my Lakers, it's weird to go into a season not expecting a title or even a deep playoffs run...kinda less stressful for us fans (maybe because we know that 2014 is the target)...but i REALLY like what Mitch has done...he's put together a team that's gonna be fun to watch....win by 20 or lose by 20...i like the Nick Young, Kaman, Wes Johnson and Farmar signings...i'm even looking forward to that rookie we drafted, he's supposed to be a stretch 4...nothing but shooters next season
Indeed, I think the Lakers are unlucky the Magic didn't get either Monroe or Drummond because then the Lakers would grab them from their farm team in Orlando and be their next big man.
It is nice to finally be coming in from the NBA cold though, the best part about the Pistons is we are still young as hell aside from Billups our oldest guy is Smith at 27 so as the other teams fade in the East which when you consider the New York teams ages, Miami's cap situation should be sooner rather than later we should be there to pick up the pieces.
The Lakers did badly need a reset after last year and your team will be much more likable which is not really important for the Lakers but being mediocre and likable is much more palatable than being unlikable and mediocre. Plus at least they built a team that is in line with what their coach wants to do, I never likes the D'antoni system but at least there is a plan

Hey what do you think about the Piston's moves this off season.
I got to say i think the Lakers are much better off without the Dwightmare and I am sure Houston will never win a ring with that softy on their team. Maybe make it to the finals but then getting wrecked there is as far as Houston can go IMO.
Obviously, moving up and beating a HOF'er is always a great win.whats confusing about this thread is many of the posters in the majority argue JMM was on ped's and manny is fading/shot in other threads.
How can you vote for the top choice if you think a roided up JMM beat a faded Manny?
Why is this guy even allowed to post.
Pacquiao is an ATG, Floyd never beat anyone of that caliber especially but devastating KO.
The only gripe you can have about Marquez is it took him 4 times just to drop MAnny.
Why? Because I post great stuff and both recycled bs like people such as you post...
Floyd's domination over gatti is the greatest performance in some time...in terms of Impression, it left it's mark......and put him at the official pound for pound top spot, over b hop....gatti was coming off of wins, unlike Manny.... Coralles was undefeated, unlike Manny, and was p4p number 3 in the sport if I recall correctly, and save that drain bs. Hatton was undefeated and p4p number 5 at the time.....
Manny lost to Bradley.....many felt he lost to Jmm before that....didn't give Jmm a rematch right away.....didn't rematch Bradley right away to answer any questions regarding his performance......looked bad against Shane before that....Manny is so overrated, it's pathetic...
Floyd's win over gatti and coralles trumps it...just leave it there.....his tko of hatton was better also....

Floyd schooling Marquez as easy as he did is more impressive and much harder to do than landing that one KO punch , even after Juan face planted Manny he still wants nothing to do with Floyd , the fighters know .
Floyd did dominate Marquez in that fight but Marquez didn't really have good conditioning. He was fighting for the first time at 147 against the p4p best fighter in the world, and Marquez jumped up two weight divisions to fight him. So it's not too surprising he couldn't do any better given the circumstances.

Of course it's better than any Mayweather victory its not even close, people who say otherwise simply shouldn't be taken seriously.
A weight drained preocupied Corrales is Mayweathrts best win. Corrales was simply never that good.
Mayweather's full resume and career > Marquez' full resume and career
See it goes both ways
Bowe beating a prime Holyfield twice was better than any win on Wlad or Holmes resume....but is he better than those two??? No.
god can you stfu and hop off his nuts for once? jesus that wasn't the question dumbass.
Its hard for most fighters on history to have a win as big as the one JMM had on his last fight.
It was really one of those moments in boxing that will be remembered as a part of history.
So No floyd still doesnt have a fight or a win like that.
Still Floyd has been the best p4p fighter for a long time now so his career overall its much better... also its impressive to see a boxer be a champ for that long and taking virtually no damage but i am losing track here ... lol
