Just because he's an active fighter who's footage isn't in black and white people don't give Pac the credit he deserves when ranking him all-time.
Facts:
-8 Division champ
-One of the most exciting fighters ever in his prime
-One of the greatest weight jumpers we have ever seen
Notable wins:
-JMM x2 (x3 if the judge had deducted the point from jmm like he was supposed to) - First ballot HOFer
-Morales x2 - First ballot HOFer
-De La Hoya - First ballot HOFer
-Mosley - First ballot HOFer
-Barrera x2 - First ballot HOFer
-Cotto - First ballot HOFer
Has any other fighter destroyed this many HOFers? I seriously doubt it. Only fighters I could see ranked above Pac all time are Ali, Robinson, Leonard and Duran.
OK. I saw this thread and figured it would just be a bunch of Pacquiao trolls hyping their man up, but 14 pages!?
Pac is nowhere near the top 5 GOAT. I hope this is a joke.
P.S. I'm a huge Pacquiao fan.
Pacquiao is top 5.
He's in the top 5 biggest cheaters in boxing history.
How can we even CONTEMPLATE comparing him to real men, real BOXERS, like Ali, Foreman, Leonard, Duran, Armstrong,SRR, and on and on.
And we can pretty safely assume that none of these men used PEDS.
I am 99.9% certain that Pacquiao has used some form of PED in his career.
The difference from Morales 1 until now is just too much to deny.
It's almost like in baseball when Barry Bonds suddenly hits 73 home runs at the young age of 37.
Pacquaio is a cheat, and a disgrace to boxing.
At the very least, he could ATTEMPT to clear his name, but we've seen nothing of that sort.
HE is the one who ducked Floyd, but more importantly, he ducked random OST.
And this man is a hero of the people? A man of integrity?
Do me a F.U.C.K.I.N.G. favor.
I admit, he's done a lot in his career. But all of his accomplishments have been built on the back of a lie.
Say what you want about Floyd Mayweather, but the man puts his money where his mouth is. He wants random OST for his fights. HE PROVES he's a clean fighter. You can't hold that against him. (As much as the Pacquiao dick riders might try.)
jmm was juiced in the 4th manny fight... I dont care because he got screwed in the 3rd fight when he clearly outboxed manny
He was juiced because you or a bunch of Pacquiao fanatics cant deal with the fact that he got knocked out? Bunch of clowns are sour they're hero lost and cant deal with it. Marquez won , deal with it and his tests were clean. You guys cried and stomped your feet when Manny used to get accused then turn around and do the same thing to Marquez and save the nonsense about his coach because it doesn't prove a thing and is just a weak excuse for an argument. Marquez is a smart fighter and never tested dirty so stop with the childish excuses.
The top 10 atg is very debateable........but what pac has done is enough to get him into that elite top 20 at least club imo. Like him or not, he should be given his respect as one of the very best. He has given some sick, sick performances for us. Its unlikley we will see any fighter go from such a light weight, and up to fighting such a variety of weight classes.
Pacquiao is easily the most overrated fighter that I can think of. Nobody was calling this guy an ATG pre-DLH and if you put his post-DLH fights in proper perspective you see how smart Arum is at manipulating the public. The man has lost his last 2 fights for goodness sake.
Man I'm a huge Pac fan, shoot one might even classify me as a p@c-tard but top 5? Can't do it. Current top 50 all-time sure, probably even top 25 or top 20 when his career is a wrap (assuming he doesn't get KO'd again), but there's just too many question marks. The CWs, the PED cloud that unfairly or fairly (we'll never know) hovers above his past, the brutal KO he suffered...I mean dude, top 5 ALL-TIME is a mighty ambitious statement.
I'll just leave it at this: the dude had a phenomenal, phenomenal career. For a period of time during his era he was either THE top P4P on the planet or arguably right there with Floyd, he was the second highest paid fighter of his era, and to be honest was the biggest face of boxing on earth internationally. Floyd was still the biggest face in the states perhaps but worldwide it wasn't even close.
Whatever his ATG status ends up being, the guy had a boxing career that 99.99999% of those who get into boxing could only fantasize of.
Pacquiao was well on his way to being top 5 fighter of All-time (Marquez-Diaz-De La Hoya-Hatton-Cotto) until...the Clottey fight. That's when i knew Bob Arum got greedy and it wasn't about boxing anymore. It was just in house fighting and fighting guys off losses and no young live top welterweights. smh
Crazy too that the man who helped bring Pacquiao to superstardom is also his downfall.
Pac is def top 25 of all time though, if he wins against Rios, he needs to fight either Marquez/Bradley/Mayweather/Canelo for redemption or else no other fights matter for his legacy
