Stuff kills me man, I've watched the fight 9-10 times already and not once was Ortiz ever in it. I hope Lampley didn't have you fooled man.
Floyds pot shots were not hurting Ortiz, Ortiz may have been losing but I also feel he could have pushed harder later in the fight and caught Mayweather. Maybe not for a KO win but to get himself back in the fight. I dont think Mayweather was as dominant as every says or thinks. He won the fight, dirty or not he won. But he earned no respect from anyone. Furthermore Ortiz shouldnt have even been in the ring with Mayweather complete mismatch. (young lion yes, inexperienced yes, big puncher yes little heart yes) against Floyd who is a ring technician with years more experience than Ortiz.
sucker punching a cherry picked opponent to get a KO is not a DOMINATION. sorry.
Floyd should have dominated him B rate opponent against an elite ring technician. Hmmmm As much as I hate floyd and would have like to see him lose if he did to a B rate Ortiz then his legacy would be over.
Still you dont have to sucker punch your way to win's as he has done in many other fights. He's a world champion who should show class, give respect to get it, and not be a dirty fighter. He considers himself the face of boxing well you wonder why boxing is tarnished and has been for years looks who face is on the cover.
I still think if the fighters should be protecting themselves at all times the referee should also be paying attention at all times. Doesnt that make sense to anyone else? Hell how can Cortez say it was legal he wasnt even looking until Ortiz was down? And time in doesnt mean box from a ref. there is a difference those are usually 2 different commands.
Dont get me wrong floyds talented in the ring but his sportsmanship is far from being what it should be especially considering he's a world champion. He wants people to love him and to show him respect and give him credit well then try fighting cleanly and not putting out cheap shots in every big fight you have cause I mean this wasnt the first time we saw it he did it against Gatti, we saw it against Mosley ect.
I think he is a classic example of a fighter who has the potential to be something but is never going to shine through and reach his max potential.
I think as a person he seems genuine and loves what he does, and is humble but this is only from what I've seen and read of him. I do not claim to know him personally.
He has had many opportunity to shine and cant pull it off when the time arises. He constantly has weight struggles and it's not that he cant make it to the lower weights because he can and has on a few occasions and looked great physically and in his performance. He even admits he has discipline issues and never blames anyone for his poor performance more than himself.
He is entertaining to watch most of the time, but he only has extreme hi's and extreme lows their are no par performances with him but overall I like him
If he beats Mayweather now, he will not be considered the best of all time as some say. Personally I see him as a top 20 fighter in general on the ATG list but both now are past their primes and it's difficult to say how good they both really are at this stage especially when fighting one another. I think we can all agree both fighters will be considered all time greats in their own respect but if Mayweather win's he gets more ATG status than if Pac were to, especially at this stage of their careers. If we base it off purely statistics of the fighters they faced and at which stage of their careers they faced them at Manny win it, if not Mayweather all the way.
This thread is a joke right? When has Gayweather ever put on a good fight? Dont you have to fight other good fighters to put on a good fight? Or does being a PussEEE and picking opponents you know you can easily beat make your fights exciting right from the start?
Look, ortiz did a great job against berto and showed heart but, to earn a shot at floyd is joke... We all know that floyd will not take a fight knowing that he might lose...floyd is taking money from boxing and boxing doesn,t seem to care... Comments??
I got a question for you guys. What has Gayweather done to deserve the amount of money he is getting for this fight? Nothing but I guess when your a wife beater and beat up security guards for a living your entitled to multimillion dollar boxing matches.
You know the fight I really want to see is his ex-wife and him with a pair of gloves in the squared circle now that would be interesting. Atleast it would be almost fair that way.
Pacquiao does that and everyone thinks he's exciting. :lol1: A one sided beat down of an overweight old man is not action to me.
Pac is active, he entertains and doesnt just wait and counter and dance around. The Mosley/Pac fight will have been more action packed than the Ortiz/Gayweather fight when that does happen. Furthermore Pac has always fought the top fighters, never backed down from a fight thats what separates him from Gayweather.
With just about a month till fight night, outside the few boxing sites I visit, I have yet to see real sort of promotion campaign for this fight. I recall GBP stating how this is going to be their biggest promoted fight ever. Really? Floyd/Oscar and Floyd/Hatton had a much bigger promotional campaign behind it.
I constantly hear about how it takes 3 months to properly promote a fight, but that doesnt seem to be the case here. Lets hope they step it up. Im excited to see how this fight plays out.
thats because it's not going to be a big draw fight, Mayweather outclassing another fighter with nothing but high hopes. Whats so exciting about it? I wouldnt promote it either
Yeah sure, as if being too fast for David Diaz was a serious accomplishment
As if having your as* hurt being proven wrong as a Flomo was a serious accomplishment. End thread you lose and your mind wont be changed it's too bad Flomos cant take criticism and can never be proven wrong even by people that dont love Pac..........
Mods deleted I think.
Can't remember any racist comments.
It would be nice if the Mods did tell you why a thread gets deleted.
Maybe it was because it had been discussed before, but then they should have a merging facility.
If it was because a poster has broken some rule, then deal with them, why should everyone suffer because some posters.
I agree about the merging thing either that or have a section like the thunderdome for Pactards and Flomo's to go at one another.
Furthermore, if they deleted it due to it being discussed before then every Mayweather and Pac thread should be deleted because they all turn into the same exact conversation "ohh Floyds ducking him ect ect.....or Pac's on Roids ect ect. It's just sad people cant talk boxing anymore it's all the same crap over and over.
Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao would KTFO outta Shane at lightweight.
But Shane can still fight. He looked terrible against Pac but then again so does everyone. He got robbed of a W against Mora who ran from his the whole fight. And if he wasn't 16 months inactive against Mayweather he would've knocked him out in the 2nd round.
Mosley still beats everyone at 147 not named Pac or Floyd and that includes Berto and Ortiz.
in his prime he would have beat most anyone now he beats almost noone in the spotlight, sorry I really like shane and he's one of my favorites of all time but he just doesnt have it anymore.
Shane last few performances have been garbage but he had a good career. It's sad that Shane is just showing up for a paycheck now but that doesn't take away from what he's done in his career. I hope Mosley hangs them up too but he's still the same guy that took on pretty much all challengers. We shouldn't forget that Mosley took on bigger guys like Forrest and Wright and even fought them after losing to both. He fought both De La Hoya and Cotto in their primes. In his day he was an exciting fighter that was willing to fight just about anybody. Even the so called P4P best today don't do that. Anyway, I hope Shane hangs them up but I won't forget what he did for the sport and for that he has my respect.
There is no doubt he is a class act and an all time great and yes I said ALL TIME GREAT. Regardless like you said of his recent performances he sure was something to watch in his prime. He had fast hands, great footwork, great ring smarts, and could take one hell of a shot. No reason not to be respected as a fighter and I sure hope he does hang them up but I'm thinking he's got a few more in him before he really considers it.
I will say that Hand Speed goes to Gayweather, we havent seen much movement from Gay as of late and all Manny does is chase his opponents so thats a hard one. The biggest difference is Manny throwing punches in bunches it may not be pretty but it works for him so he looks an awful lot faster than he probably is.
Please stay retired Oscar you've look like crap in your past 3 fights why bother. You were good in your prime but that didnt last long so stay retired before you get hurt, you already have enough money no need to embarrass yourself more.
This is where you post the clip.
here's the link it's on someones facebook page cant find it on youtube though.

As much as I love Smokin Joe I dont think he could handle the jab of Vitali. I think he was a great champion and a beast in the ring but put in against a guy with a mean jab (ali, foreman, vitali) I dont think he'd make it through to do what he is great at doing and thats head/body, head/body attacks. I really dislike the Heavies of today and think Vitali is a crap champ (not so much as his brother but still crap) The only thing he has going for him is an incredible jab that is known to keep people away from his insides.
I think Frazier would maybe win 1 out of 3 as he did against Ali but he'd be kept at bay by the jab. Lastly I think Frazier would beat any other heavy out there in todays division no problem. He had stamina, a great chin, Heart and when able to get inside an attack that you dont see in todays fight game.
why not just bring it back to the golden age of boxing where they would fight till a knockdown happened get 30 seconds to recover and go at it again no rounds, no 8 counts, no corner stoppages, just beat each other up until one man cant get up any more? Hell a fight could be over 200 rounds now that would be a good pay per view buy!
Floyd Mayweather Jr: When he first started he was a very humble person he could hold an interview without being cocky and talking in 3rd person, once he won a few matches he became what he is now and got worse through the years. I lost all respect for him as a person but still will say he has skill and is a very talented fighter.
no matter where you go people are going to state crap like this thats just the nature of the beast.
Now what really should be taken care of is the 25 + threads a day that repeat every time. I speaking of the Mayweather/Pacquiao talk. One person says Manny is the best someone replys take the test you roided out freak, Another person states Mayweather is the best and someone replys he's scared and is a crack dealer. I feel we should quit this stupid repeating crap and come up with a specific section for it like we have a thunderdome for or an arcade section for. When you scroll through all the pages and pages of May/Pac talk every thread comes to the same thing. Thats whats ruining this site. People just need to get over it, the same people repeat the same thing day in and day out and rack up a post count because of this. People dont care to read it, we know you how you Flomo's feel and we know how you Pactards feel so quit repeating it because noone is ever going to agree.
imagine jumping into a cold ocean or lake what happens? It wakes you right up and gets you going again. Thats my take on it, when I was fighting my trainer always did it to me as well. All I know is when he did that I went from sorta tired to sorta woken up for a few more minutes until I was back throwing punches and getting hit with punches then I tired out again. Works for a short time. I dont know if this is the real reason they do it or not but thats just my take from my experiences.
Ali had no pop.
Stamina definitely.
Pop? No way.
He is one of the weakest (if not the weakest) heavyweight world champ of all time ("like a butterfly").
http://www.boxingscene.com/forums/showthread.php?p=10180673#post10180673
he had some of the fastest hands with alot of pop look up the flash knockdowns of Liston if that wasnt pop I dont know what is.
I'm gonna pull a Mayweather here:
That's not true, we never had negotiation's, But I want 100 million to fight, he's just saying that he dont mean it, it's just a publicity stunt. I'm retiring, I'm coming out of retirement to fight for another championship against another rookie or past their prime fighter after over a year layoff, I'be only been training on my baby mama and security guards who dont know who I am and I'm gonna be a champ again. I'm the best in the world, I'm undefeated and only fight the best. I can easily beat Pac he's one dimensional, take a random test cause I've been retired for a year and can make any rules I want cause I'm "Money"
Signed: Floyd "Money" Mayweather aka I just turned down the biggest payday of my life for 60 minutes of work)
1. Ortiz quits too much
2. Ortiz easy to Counter
3. Ortiz Swings like a orangutan, wide open
4. Money BrokeWeather lost all his money betting on the spurs
5. Ortiz isn't Manny Pacquiao
Anyone got orther reasons why Brokeweather picked Ortiz??
that pretty much sums it up but you forgot to mention,
1. He's Scared of losing his precious 0 in the Loss column
and lastly
2. He's Scared of Pacquiao
I think Haye and Klitschko would beat Ali easily. Of course most people who talk boxing think Ali is immortal so I wouldnt expect anyone to agree with me.
Ali is way too small to beat Klitschko and lacks the power needed to keep him at bay. There wasnt really anyone around at the time of Ali who was as big and athletic as Klitschko.
Ali would have a better chance against Haye, but again lacks the power to put him away. Haye has a massive power advantage and a speed one. Yes a speed one. Ali could make fast combinations but Haye would beat him.
Your crazy bro, Ali whooped Foreman who is far more of a puncher than both Klits and Haye combined, he took shots from him no problem out smarted him and still continued fighting with excellence. Ali had enough mental toughness than all 3 combined as well as he was one of the fastest heavies of all time so come on red k to you for being retarded
I dont think he was crying but I do think he was not the same after that knock down in the 3rd. He was just asking Pac not to knock him out. And for someone who couldnt move he sure did alot of moving away from Pac lol. It's sad I really like Mosley as a fighter I consider him one of the greats and a definite hall of fame inductee. But he needs to retire he looked shot in his past 5 fights. And if you listen to him you can see he's slowing down and starting to slur his speech more and more as each fight takes place. I'd hate to see him get hurt, money isnt everything.
