With just about a month till fight night, outside the few boxing sites I visit, I have yet to see real sort of promotion campaign for this fight. I recall GBP stating how this is going to be their biggest promoted fight ever. Really? Floyd/Oscar and Floyd/Hatton had a much bigger promotional campaign behind it.
I constantly hear about how it takes 3 months to properly promote a fight, but that doesnt seem to be the case here. Lets hope they step it up. Im excited to see how this fight plays out.

thats because it's not going to be a big draw fight, Mayweather outclassing another fighter with nothing but high hopes. Whats so exciting about it? I wouldnt promote it either
This fight will bomb terribly. GBP can't promote worth a damn. This fight would be lucky to do 1 million because everyone knows Floyd is gonna run on his bike and throw punches with less pop than Malinaggi and Ortiz is a quitter to boxing fans and a no name to casual fans.
Pacquiao Marquez is the fight that everyone is waiting for. Thats gonna be a war (while it lasts)
People also forget that word of mouth also gives the fight a big push as the date draws closer giving it a boost in viewership as well. The anticipation for the fight will grow bigger and bigger.
They got some ads for it up on WSHH. That ad has been up there for awhile too. And I've seen some Tecate posters/displays at the Grocery Store for the fight.
The commercials and TV time will probly start a little after 24/7 debuts.
August is generally a dead period, media-wise.
The TV networks are on reruns, the magazine industry in in the Hamptons, and the general population is eith on vacation, or back-to-school mode.
The big push comes right after Labor Day, leading up to the fight.

they owe you a refund. And if it was public school, then at least get your transportation money back.
My 8 year old nephew can do that math.
lol......................................
In the u.s.a., that should explain everything.

Which is exactly why I bet this wouldn't do a million. 3 Months to promote a super fight? Comon man. They don't even have the commercial for the fight yet.
People will tune in for Floyd, and that's pretty much it.
Do you remember last summer?
Arum: we have a November PPV date. We need to set a July 15th deadline for Floyd to accept our offer.
It does't need much promotion. floyd mayweather, hbo's 24/7 series and the fact that the fights on hbo ppv is enough. Hbo has over 20 million subscribers so all they need is 1 percent of their subscribers to order the fight and wuala, their goes your 1 million ppv sales. And then you all can talk about how successfull the ppv was, and how great the numbers were blah blah blah etc.

Sigh.
Setting up the deals with the networks. Making sure you pick a date that doesn't conflict with other events, locking down logistics of venue, travel, camp, etc.
Security, broadcast talent, production of Face/Offs and 24/7's, etc, etc.
Negotiation of deals with corporate sponsors, negotiation of site fees with venues, etc
Camp alone takes 8 weeks.
