How high of an ATG would manny be if beat Mayweather?

It would be contingent on how dominant Mayweather is in his next bout against another high level opponent, AFTER losing to Pacquiao. This will help to ensure that Mayweather was in no way "washed-up" at 38 during his match with Pacquiao as many are claiming him to be. In addition to that, there absolutely won't be ANY conspiracy theories of Mayweather having thrown the fight against Pac due to him having chosen the fight venue and referee, along with MP having conceded to all of his demands. Lastly, Mayweather has a habit of staying in shape all year round, while using a style of boxing that allows him to take the least amount of damage possible in a boxing match. This in-turn should keep him fresher than virtually anyone he faces in the ring, regardless of age. Therefore, there really aren't any excuses to be made by Mayeather or his fans to begin with.

Either guy would be top 20 probably with a win, especially an impressive win.

That would be a great win, but if both had faced off 5 years ago, a win over either guy rank so much higher.

Manny already has great wins over many top names already, add a W over Mayweather and what you would be left with, in my opinion, is arguably a top 10-15 ATG. He already has a great legacy, beating Floyd would seriously put a stamp on his claim to all time greatness. Only idiots and fanboys would say beating floyd means nothing. There is a reason this fight is huge, to disregard how serious a W is towards legacy with this fight would only serve to dumb down how important this fight is, therefore only idiots do so. Beating the fellow greatest fighter of your era who is undefeated and seriously talented himself obviously boosts your ATG status.

The entire back half of that fight had rounds where Manny did nothing until the last thirty seconds and then Ali-flurried at Bradley to get the crowd excited. It was by no meanss a whitewash. I agree it was a worse decision than Pacquiao-Marquez III, but I also think the third Marquez fight had rounds in which the winner was obvious, whereas a lot of people disagree about who won what rounds in Pac-Bradley I. Anyway I think legacy-wise Pacquiao and Mayweather are already up there with the likes of Duran and Leonard. Time will be kind to their accomplishments. The winner will definitely be in discussion as a top 10 ATG, and dare I say it, if the winner can go on to rematch Cotto at middleweight and beat him for the middleweight title he can retire as a strong GOAT candidate.

I'm no nuthugger but I admit, manny is my fav boxer since Roy jones. That being said, a clear dominating win over floyd would put him in the top 25, at best... His career has been marvelous and he's done so much for the sport of boxing, but no way does that make him top 10, much less top 3. People who say that don't know boxing or boxers in history too well... If floyd beats manny very clearly, and goes on to fight two of the bigger names in boxing and beats them also and retires a perfect 50, that would put him In the top 25 for sure... I dislike floyd but can still salvage some of his legacy with what he does in the next three fights... I think what a lot of western fans don't understand is HOW MUCH of an impact Pacquiao has brought to Asia when it comes to boxing...
