I am rooting for Ouma. I don't think he will be able to knock him out, but hopefully he can decision him.
same here, if taylor can't ko him I'm hoping ouma takes it. i think that taylor has ko power that he hasn't tapped into yet, and if he doesn't start using some aggression he's going to start losing.
those buff guys are just overhyped poster boys like lacy, almost all of them with the exception of that guy who was like 200 lbs or something at age 12 and was the youngest heavyweight champ, forgot his name.
i think pbf has good people around him. i'm sure he makes fair money because he is worth it, but if he'd get off his high horse and just keep his ego in check and his mouth shut, he'd maybe bring his career to another level.
thanks for the clarifications and info. still i can't beleive RJJ skipped over 4 more belts, but i gues when you have had a few dozen of them whats 4 more.
For the sake of boxing we need Klitsko to win. We don't need another paper champion.
Klit is a paper champion. Lewis retired remember? Klit should be unifying the division not fighting every one but belt holders.
Even though Williams beat Tyson, Tyson did have him wobly in the first round (first or second anyway). In the past he would have closed the show. Tyson is not the same fighter he used to be and that is why. Now imagine if klit were in his shoes? He would have finnished the fight abruptly as he did with Brewster (i think that was that fat black guy's name) I think Klit's intelligence and ability to size up Williams is why he is almost garuanteed a victory not his size. I think this battle is more of a chess match between a nerd and bully.
well my world is crashing down after that loss, a second loss for jirov. he is still an awesome fighter to watch though. i love how he jumped up thats what i want to see. it shows his eagerness and his heart. it seemed to me his left hand was pretty neutralized most of the fight and he could not launch his own power shots. every time he threw a left hook moorer threw one over his. i thought that jirov made a smart change when he started throwing uppercuts around the 4th. he was definately fighting a good fight...
Up and coming boxers bring more veiwers and more enthusiasm to the sport than has beens and fighters that have already been defeated a number of times and already have shown the world their championship rounds. You know that Mayweather has more to show us than most.
jirov was definately ko'd he did not walk straight towards him he took one step that swept out sideways, any way no matter how technicall you make it he was out on his feet and could have been hurt if the fight continued. wish him the best though he needs something in his career to put an exclamation on it and if he's not going to take any heavyweight belts i hope toney and him can put together a trilogy eventually.
Jirov is an out standing boxer though he goes to war. The Moorer fight would be a good boxing match if that's their stratigy, but we know it won't be after Jirov takes a stunning blow. Jirov has skills and is fun to watch even when he prefers not to rely on them. He definately has a shot in the heavy weight division if he boxes a bit more.
dont really see why everyone considers the man history with such a weak hw division i can see at least 2 title fights because of it. Ruiz is a weak link he shouldnt have a belt, but he does. I wouldn't be surprised for another of the title holders to step up to a tyson fight for the money he brings and just plain name recognition or respect what ever you want to call it. cant say i'd want to watch tyson ruiz fight but tyson would ko him in 3 if they did.
rjj is one of the most highly skilled fighters that ever lived, his style was developed with experience and hard work, and as his reputation shows he has perfected a style far beyond what anyone speaking here could contend. if it ain't broke...and i'm sure he is fully aware of what changes and influences he can benefit from he has had to part ways with his own father in his career for cripes sake. VPDJ hits the nail on the head, "can change his style if he wants to"
its all about heart. we all want to see someone who fought wars in the ring, not even for a title, to accomplish something. we also want to see a long time contender succeed in the end (ie glen johnson).
trinidad ko, only way winky could win would be a decision from trinidad falling down a couple times in the earlier rounds and maintaining a point lead. his defensive fighting is his stronger asset but i do not think he could keep up with trinidad's accuracy and activeness in the long run. this fight boils down to the action in the first few rounds of the fight where felix hasn't found his rythm and winky can stack the cards in his favor being a more defensive fighter with very little chance of koing trinidad. also i think trinidad only sees this fight as a warm up for better competition. even if i'm way off base of the rest trinidad by ko.
its what i want to see, kinda like i always say i'll start watchin football as soon as the bears win another superbowl, and on not likely to happen i'll add mr.t from rocky 3 vs. toney (who's uglier?)
mad dogs make good boxers agressiveness sells and it also weeds out some of the holding and pussyfooting around. one thing tyson did right. And with the higher knock out potential of the hw division an agressive fighter is what the division needs but who will it be? My point is a ref can make a fight not much of a fight but the sport depends on the competition not the refs and judges.
