How can a fighter who's fought journeyman opponents for the past 2yrs and has only fought once this year be consider a top3 p4p fighter? The one guy he fought this year was Chop Chop Corley who had already lost to Zab Judah in his previous fight,a fight in which you could see Mayweather Jr in the crowd shouting out advise to his Best Friend Judah.I'm begining to think his management saw something in this Mayweather-Castillo fights because since that fight Mayweathers been getting handpicked opponents.

Journeymen? That's a misnomer, I'm afraid. Phillip N'dou was a tough, strong superfeather weight before their fight, and Sosa had given Spadafora his toughtest fight at 135 (this was, of course, before Spadafora-Dorin), and Corley may be on the downside of his career, but he was not by any means a journeyman. Handpicked opponents they may be, but journeymen they are not. A strong 140 pounder is hopefully in the future, though.
tarver had an opportunity to fight jones earlier in an elimination bout with eric harding. he lost that bout. then it took some time to get his career back on track after he beat harding in the rematch
Yeah but he came back and was the number one contender under two of the sanctioning bodies. This was a year or so before Jones going up to fight Ruiz. That's why he did what he did at the press conference after the Ruiz fight because he thought Jones was ducking him.
in terms of pure talent, i would put mayweather over hopkins on the p4p list. but of course, we gotta consider other things too. I think mayweather has the ability to step up his game in the big fights, like he did against corrales. that was a shocking blowout. however, it's absolutely amazing that hopkins can maintain such a high level of performance at his age
Roy Jones has done it several times. In fact Jones fought almost nothing but manditories since he moved up to 175. Even Tarver had to become his manditory before Jones gave him the opportunity.

Corrales, Castillo (x2), and Hernandez..
I've never seen him fight but why do people rate Castillo so highly after the losses on his record?
Likewise Corrales. He's beaten some decent guys but nobody to give him p4p status that I can see.
How bout you name Name 3 legit pound for pounders Mayweather has beat his entire career,LMAO!
Lets talk about the last 2yrs for sec because a true fan doesn't need Boxrec.com to find the 3 p4p fighters Mayweather has beaten in his entire career like you do.
Pacman beat Barrera and had a hard-fought DRAW with Marquez.
Wright beat Mosely twice.
Spinks beat Mayorga and Zab Judah!
Mayweather beat Ndou,Sosa,Corley YAWN! My point exactly
Corrales, Castillo (x2), and Hernandez..
Best P4P
Hopkins is pound for pound. If Trinidad gets him in the rematch he would become pound for pound. I also think that if Barrera beats Pacquiao, he could become #1.
I agree with you. Hopkins is still the best P4P. Regarding your "ifs", no way Trinidad will beat Hopkins because Hopkins got Trinidad's number. And, there is nothing new in MAB that can make him a winner over Pacman.

Mayweather is one of the top doggz in my opinion but he needs to fight more. He has fought some great opponents through his career and has a record to be proud of. Bring on Tszyu or Gatti or Cotto for some amazing fights, out of all those i think Mayweather will have the easiest time with Gatti. Floyd is better in every single was as a dedicated fighter.

Whatever happen to your Matt Vanda Avatar?LMAO!Haven't seen it since he got KTFO!I Uploaded that clip in the Video Gallery a few months back if your interested in seeing it.
Actually you haven't seen me since two months before then but it is true he got KTFO. I was sitting pretty close to ringside for that one and laughed all the way home...What a joke! You should've seen his most recent "win" over 8-2 Patrick Tompson.
p.s.
I joined boxingscene two months before his fight with Garr so at least I'm not an ignorant Vanda fan...fookin idiots those people are!
I think it's safe to add Juko, Chavez, and Hernandez to that list.

legal troubles are keeping him off the ring but that doesnt matter, he beat chico, manfredy, castillo and he got a cinvincing wins (except castillo I) is the way he beats these guys, its rare for him to loose a round, lets not forget he started at super featherweight, he could of easily been the undisputed champ and get fights with morales, mab, pacman and beat them IMO.

mayweather just needs to fight someone! please!
i'll give him his props, but fuck fight plz!
Could you tell me who he hasn't fought? He fought Corley in his first fight at 140 while Cotto is fighting Randall Bailey who was actually bad enough to lose a lopsided decision to "Chop Chop". Keep on running Gatti but you can't do it forever...
