Lets hear it. But please....back up your pcik with some opinions and data. I hate Tito...but I just dont see Winky being able to back Tito up, and thats how Wright wins fights. Whoever establishes the forward momentum takes this one.
Wright is a good fighter but against TITO he's a joke. He Has NO Power whatsoever. He is purely a defensive fighter. Wright couldn't even KO Vargas in their fight and let's not mention that TITO Knocked him the %$#@ OUT!!! On top of all that who has Wright fought? Mosely and Vargas? COME ON!!!! Mosely got his ass handed to him by Forrest who is MIA! So all ya'll talkin that stuff bout how IF TITO gets passed Wright need to realize that your boy is going to get smoked. Wright can defend all he wants but there will be a blow that will find its way and then BAM....Who's next....B-Hop! FO SHO!!!!
anyone know if they have posted a line for the fight cause an excellent southpaw is worth betting on for the right price... everyone thought I was crazy for taking spinks over mayorga but six and half to one? are you kidding
Anyone who knows me knows that I'm not a Trinidad fan, however, if Winky tries to engage with him in a war (i.e. moving forward into Tito's moving forward..) it's going to be an early night for Winky. I think the key to beating Tito is boxing..if you try to go to war with him he'll eventually physically overwelm you with his power punches. My pick is Tito by TKO in 6 or 7.
trinidad ko, only way winky could win would be a decision from trinidad falling down a couple times in the earlier rounds and maintaining a point lead. his defensive fighting is his stronger asset but i do not think he could keep up with trinidad's accuracy and activeness in the long run. this fight boils down to the action in the first few rounds of the fight where felix hasn't found his rythm and winky can stack the cards in his favor being a more defensive fighter with very little chance of koing trinidad. also i think trinidad only sees this fight as a warm up for better competition. even if i'm way off base of the rest trinidad by ko.
Before the first fight with Shane did anyone think Winky would dominate like that, no! Most people thought he was about to get fucked up. Before Tito anybody giving him a shot, not really. We dont know really how good Tito is anymore, I think not that great, remember when Mayorga was just letting Tito pound him, I don't think anyone could have taken that punch three years ago. Plus Hopkins and DLHoya both showed ways to beat Tito even if Oscar did get the credit. All Winky needs to do is watch the films, go out there and do it. I'm predicting Winky with a decision, and if I have any points left after betting them on GAtti v. Leja I'll bet them all on it.
Well, nobody had ever knocked Mayorga down, much less KO'd him, until Tito got in the ring with him. Yes, he had an iron chin by everyone's definition until the iron-chin-busting power of Trinidad's left hand got to him. Tito by brutal KO.

I'm going with Winky Wright on this one. Tito has passed his prime and considering the layoff I don't think he will be sharp enough to land his best punches against a top notch defensive boxer like Mr. Wright.
You see, one of Tito's greatest assets was his incredible accuracy with his left hook. Tito's hook was THE punch in boxing for several years.
However, I think this accuracy has decreased significantly since the layoff. A prime Tito would have finished off a catcher like Mayorga within the first two rounds. Mayorga actually gave Tito a little trouble in their fight, if you recall, before Trinidad was able to completely establish himself. I think this rustiness will become evident in the face of Wright's skill and reflexes.
I'm not too concerned about Wright's lack of power because I don't think Tito's chin is his strong point. I think Wright has just enough pop in his punches to command Tito's respect.
This is all just speculation and I'm really just trying to play the devil's advocate. Someone's gotta root for Winky, ya know?
This has been discussed miltiple times. Like I have said before, I think Tito can win by KO. I say this becuase he has too much power and Winky wont be able to stay away from him all night. I consider Winky an excellent figheter, but his punching power is suspect.
Is this fight signed yet???
Well, I'll make Titos excuses, you guys make everyone esle one, how about that.
AND, If Oscar had fought, he would of been KO'd, anything esle, would be an axcuse. :D
So Marciano deserves all the credit in the world for his destruction of Joe Louis? And Holmes should be ranked above Ali for the beating he put on Ali, huh? There are excuses and then there is being realistic.
I say Winky holds his own in the first half but Tito's punches start wearing on him in the second half and Winky survives the distance.
Tito by decision but I hope by knockout.
I wouldn't really compare Hopkins and Delahoya's performance against Tito. Hopkins used side steps after throwing more meaningful punches. Oscar threw fast shoe shine punches and then circled the entire ring before engaging again. Hopkins put on a much better performance and won convincingly. Oscar's performance even if he would of won didn't convince me that he is really better than Tito. There's a difference between dominating every round which Hopkins did and winning the majority of the rounds close which Oscar did.
Had Oscar FOUGHT in the championship rounds instead of running and won the fight...you wouldn't believe that he had the edge on Tito?
Winky will use his jab alot, but if I would compare, what this fight would look like, it would be a Parnel Whitaker/Vargas, type fight. If Whitaker didnt beat him, Winky wont.
But Whitaker was coming off a 19 month layoff, which he spent in a drug rehab center.

Whitaker was as shot as you can get when he fought Tito...who was also in his prime and naturally larger. Pea was also all coked out then...Winky is arguably in his prime now...has a much different style then Whitaker, and isn't strung out on dope.
