Let me get this straight. In every sport there are rules that every participant needs to abide by. If a participant breaks those rules they get warned, fined or penalized right? I want to know how in the hell does Henry Aikinwande get disqualified for constantly holding Lennox Lewis in their fight, however, Ruiz is guilty of the same rule breaking in every one of his fights yet has never been disqualified in his career. Now tell me this, as a boxing fan, how can you get excited about anything this sport has to offer when you know that there will eventually be a scam that fucks a boxer who works their ass off to try and win. This decision has made me sick to my stomach.
It's up to the ref to stop all the holding. It's funny how alot of people on here say that Ruiz should be penalized for holding but when the ref tries to stop a fighter from holding so much everybody jumps on him for doing his job. An example would be the Rocky Juarez/Zahir Raheem fight where Raheem was holding behind Juarez head throughout the entire fight and got penalized for it. I remember everyone saying how the ref was biased because he penalized Raheem for the holding.
mad dogs make good boxers agressiveness sells and it also weeds out some of the holding and pussyfooting around. one thing tyson did right. And with the higher knock out potential of the hw division an agressive fighter is what the division needs but who will it be? My point is a ref can make a fight not much of a fight but the sport depends on the competition not the refs and judges.
