I think Dawson has to fight Johnson again. Outside of that I really do not see anything else out there for him at 175. Bhop and Roy are too old to keep up with him. Eventhough Bhop has more left, not enough for Dawson. Glen Johnson again, then move down to 168 and fight Carl Froch, I hope. Froch is not that good and I think Dawson will dispose of him quickly
Yes sir. I can't wait for this fight. It is going tobe a great boxing match and I can't wait to see it. Floyd all day though. I think because his handspeed is superior, along with pure boxing skills he wins. Good fight though, guaranteed. Marquez will put on a show and get to Floyd more than anyone else ever has.
At the end of the day the person you have to blame is Pacquiao, give him his just due credit. Floyd Sr. can point the finger at whomever, but it falls on himself and his fighter. Ricky did not do the proper things for this fight and because of that he made an exit from the stage in the opening act. You can't teach a brawler to box to the standards of a Mayweather. Obvoiusly Ricky did not even incorporate it. So, he tried but got bested by a better fighter, and trainer. Floyd can look at himself and blame everyone else all he wants to. Yet, still the fact remains........ Pacquiao KO2 Hatton
Mosely needs to fight mAYWEATHER. However he is not calling him out anymore since Mayweather returned. I wouldnt give Mosley any credit for a fight with Pac. Moslet is not De La Hoya.
depends on how the fight is fought. I believe that if Mayweather initiate action and fight the way he should then it will be over inside twelve rounds. Who the victor is I have yet to make a concise opinion but I leaning with Mayweather, but I love Marquez though
The Roy of 2003 before the drop back to light heavy would have murdered Valuev. Now, I think he has a shot, his speed is still good for him, and can still make another opponent think but that is just a big big big man, but I would still pull for my boy Roy, even though I am biased he is my favorite fighter
I have all of Roy Jones Jr fights and I watch them all the time. Corrales Castillo, Corrales vs Casmayor, Pacquiao vs Marquez 1 and 2, Vasquez Marquez trilogy, Holyfield vs Bowe trilogy,Floyd Mayweather vs Arturo Gatti(what a show that was). There are many more I would watch over and over again but those are my main choices
Well I say wait till they fight before giving one of them that claim. Thereason it took Floyd ten rounds is because him and pacman are two different kinds of fighters so I see no reason to give one the crown that way. This is kinda funny to me.
Roy Jones Jr. is my all time favorite. His style intrigued how he could do everything and made it look effortless. His accomplishments are no joke and is on my top ten for pound for pound greats. After Roy, running a very distant second place would be Manny Pacquiao because of his fighting spirit. Then it would be Floyd, Bhop, Sugar Shane, Cotto, Calzaghe(because of his refusal to lose)
They are fighting. What they are supposed to do. Both men are all- time greats and deserve to fight if they choose. Both are legendary figures and have earned to go out the way they want to. Just fir the record, did yall see Danny Green's handwraps that night, illegal, to say the least.
No, Andre Ward is not using steroids. He simply outclassed the slower, methodical approach by Mikkel Kessler. Ward is a man of God, a student of the game, and I dont think he would disgrace his family or the sport by cheating. Thats ridiculous. Merely haters think like that. Just like the ones who think Manny is using. I'll use the Barry Bonds approach; show me a positive test and then I'll believe it. Y'all be blessed.
Floyd will outbox the hell out of Mosley. Mosley doesn't really box so much any7more. Plus Floyd is just toooooo nasty with his fight game. Flyod all day long by a wide margin, don't even see it being a contest now. Plus, Floyd just came back, he doesn't deserve a title fight just yet. He must beat Marquez first then work his way up. Then he should fight Cotto, regardless of what happen with Pacquiao. I wouldn't even give Floyd credit for fighting Pac man. So he need to fight the big fellas for real and Cotto has no busines fighting pac for real, nor Mosley or any of them boys.
My favorite all time fighter......... Roy Jones Jr.
then I would have to give it to Pac Man, simply because he is the toughest mutha fuc*a in the business.
IT TAKES A WARRIOR MENTALITY TO EVEN STEP BETWEEN THE ROPES. I'm a fighter and I have had two fights thus far, and I don't know how anyone here could criticize Otrtiz for that. He is so young and much more time to go in his career and more importantly his life that it was best for him to pack it in, call it a day, go rest his head for a while. That was a great fight and the other guy fought admirably as well. No disrespect here for Ortiz, fighter to fighter, congrats and thanks for a good show.
Roy was unorthodox. Yes he was. But, to say he was only reflexes and athleticism is pretty stupid. He used his style paired with IQ to set traps. Have you ever heard him break a fight down/ His problem was he refused to adapt. That is why he hasnt had much success once he slowed down. He knows everything there is to know about the sport. The weight drop after the Ruiz fight at the age of 34, was killer to his career. I also dont buy he tarnished his legacy. Many all time greats went beyond their prime and looked like hell. No one mentions Ali losing to Trevor Berbick or Sugar Ray Leonard getting ko's by Camacho. But, Roy was not just an athlete that put on boxing gloves. He's been fighting since he was child. He knows the sport, knows everything about it. He just refused to adapt his style according to where he was at physically, not because of a lack of knowledge.
His nam is Gary Owen, and the guy is hilarious. He's been on Mike Epps tour, Shaq's tour, Martin Lawrence. The guy is legit. This was 3 minutes of an hour show. Its called True Story, netflix or Showtime has t now.
Roy ones Jr vs Pazienza is my fav combination for a ko ever. That wascrazy. I dont know one fighter that couldve put those punches together the way he did without resetting 4/5 times, that was crazy.
Nah, I have had busted ribs in the ring. Guys in my gym are 20-40 ilbs heavier, so I have had my fair share, which has nulled many fights for me, but he would have been able to continue if they re broken. Not highly recommended, but its possible. I have never stopped on account, but the next day and a week or so following is awful.
Shock value yes, but Paul was straight sleep. I think it unfortunately might have the same mental effect as it did on Roy, but not the same. Now, Glen Johnson put Roy out, but his head bounced hard off the canvas and that was a lil different too. I hope Paul can bounce back, and he still has good years left, but he needs time. Roy came back four months later only to blasted again. Give Paul time....Props to Sergio, except for the Burger King crown, that was whack
Bullconner, your racist remarks are completely unnecessary and beyond acceptable. For your info, I am white, my wife and children are african american and I am speechless. After all these yrs and all the blood that has been shed, we still have people like you. The world could use less of you and I sincerely hope you may understand how assonine comments like that affect society. God Bless you, and as much as I would love to Sergio Martinez you......I pray your blessed instead. By the way, why would Paul throw a back hand hook without a joab first and with his right hand down. But all credit to Sergio, but for Paul, that is a career altering punch that Paul might npot mentally recover from. Whew. I am still shocked
You haters dont want to give anyone credit. Darius M. should have come over to the states. He had no pull in the situation. Plus, he was beaten by Julio Gonzalez, who was beaten handily by Roy. So, that is out the window. Roy defeated a legit heavyweight champion, not a vacant or created, and no one thought Roy was gonna win. Yall just shut up please. The problem with fans now a days is they are sooo critical and think they know everything. These guys deserve credit, especially Roy. He did something only one other man can claim, so that speaks for itself
I think if Roy can geuinely get up for this fight, maybe. I love Roy, he is my all time favorite, but this is tough to swallow. I think he is a top 15 all time great, easy. I think he is the greatest fighter from 1989-2004. He was untouchable, unlike anything I have ever seen. The greatest athlete to ever lace up gloves, and has such unique skill set that his boxing iq is ridiculously underrated. However, there is a time for everything and its not for me to say when to stop. I think Roy can definitely be competetive, and if he can protect that shot around the ear....he has more than a chance. I dont know, Im back and forth about it, and if he continues to fight, Ill support him. Im sure everyone is on the other side saying retire, but Go Get it Roy.
Inject, I see the racism card often, I just dont use with my own because thats not the case.....My wife and kids are african american so I dont go there. Roy had been chin checked before, long before Tarver. No bias there, it is what it is. Roy is def my favorite but no bias for a bad performance, I often get in debates and Ill be the first to criticize him, ex the 2nd Hopkins fight. He fought like crap against Calzaghe. For the Green fight, I thought he started off well with his jab of all things, but didnt let anything else go. Then the shot came that caught him on his spot that Glen Johnson blew up, and Hopkins hit in the second round of their rematch. My only thing in the Green fight was how it bounced off his shoulder first. His handwraps look suspect, but if nothing came to avail now, the Im going to assume they were legal. I dont give Green too much credit for that being Roy is slowed down a bit, but Roy did just blast Lacy the fight before so, you never know. My thing now is the different drinks in his corner with the Flores fight. There was a brown colored drink, a gatorade type drink( red), and water. Obviously, there should be some concern for that, cause that def is not legal. What was in the brown colored drink, who knows, but I think its worth looking in to. Outside of that, thats the best I have ever seen Danny fight. He actually boxed well, and I saw the Tapes of the Toney sparring session, its sparring man, but he did hold up
Listen, Danny Green showed his boxing skill, no denying that, but something is suspect. He had a brown liquid drink, water, and gatorade(powerade, something red). You cant tell me thats legal......its not hate bruh. Listen, Roy is may favorite fighter, and he is def a top 15 all time great. He accomplished something that one other guy has done, and the other guy was Bob Fitzsimmons in 1897. So, that speaks for itself. Roy has fought 20 world champions and had over 30 championship fights. He is very much a legend. Also, Danny handwraps are not wrapped correctly. I am not saying they are illegal, but the tape is not proper and the gauze sits five inches above his knuckles. But Roy had punch resistance, he got checked by Ruiz, at 226, hes been whacked before. He has none now it seems. But his chin if fine. Its the side of his head that has become soft it seems. But, Danny Green willnever be considered on Roys level, and Green has questions to answer too.
Inject, it has nothing to do with race you jackass. Only a man with no credible reasoning or comments says something like that. Im white, so that just goes out the window. We all know Roy would have easily beaten a limited Danny Green at his best. Matter of fact, I guarantee you he would have never taken the fight. Anyways, Flores is overrated, Danny Green is as well, what has he done of any worth i this game. Not a damn thing. Please make sure you make sense before you post something..till then
The fight is NEVER gonna happen. I have come to terms with that now. With all of Floyd's trouble and the fact that Manny and company are content with continuing to fight unworthy opponents......never happening
