He mentioned his credentials: WW Champion and former P4P best. He also mentioned that Pac fought Oscar at 147 so why not fight him at 147.
That was the gist of it.
Kind of shame because Shane isn't getting this fight and him being on SportsCenter calling out Pac just tells me that Jin took his house, bank account and his dog.
I think Pac should fight Shane at 147. Shane looked good his last fight, but Margarito is there to be hit. Shane would have more life than Oscar for sure, but that will just make the fight very competitive, which is a good thing.
I personally think Manny can be competitive with any welterweight with the exception of Williams.
I even turned my thoughts around about fighting Floyd at 147. I think Manny will be fine fighting him at 147.
Maybe Roach notices a slowdown of Manny at 147 though. He would know i guess.
whats with welterweights calling out MP? even chavez jr who is a super welter is calling him?
whats with PBF fighting JMM?
fighting smaller men is a fvckin fad these days...
Shane needs to forget about this shit, aim for a fight with the Berto-Urango winner, or else hope Clottey beats Cotto. Because I've got my doubts about Arum willing to throw Cotto in with Shane in a rematch if he wins the fight with Clottey. Arum knows what Mosley was able to do with Margarito.
you know whats odd. how is mayweather getting like 12-14mil or something like that to fight JMM, yet mosley and his team only offered 8 mil or something of that range and they are in the same damn company. thats REALLY odd.
Yeah i agree, But you can never win when you're the top guy in boxing..
Hell no. Chavez couldnt win when whitaker beat him and he remained number 1 and never rematched him. People couldnt wait for tyson to get knocked off. Roy Jones jr...i dont even need to discuss it. Shane Mosley got knocked off VERY quickly. Hopkins was ripped for not fighting up to his competition and having natural welters come up to fight him. Mayweather jr? hehhe...ooh mayweather jr.
this is how it is when your on top.
okay you stupid idiots.
Oscar and Pac had to meet somewehere. Oscar couldn't ask Manny to fight at 154 because it was too unreasonable and would be crucified by the boxing media for making manny jump too many weight classes. Oscar was going to fight Mayweather at 147 before he retired again. that is why he fought Forbes at 150 to gauge himself at a lighter weight.
it was reported by rob garcia ( the nutritionist) that Oscar came into camp at around 145- 149. he kept himself light because he wanted to try to match Mayweather's/ now Pacquiao's speed. just like Oscar's pasts mistakes ( running against trinidad, too many trainners, hopkins), keeping himself too light was another one.
I think thats the reason why pac dont get much respect because they always want to throw somebody at a low catchweight to give paq a huge advantage, then when he beats them, they could act like he's god. He will Not fight Shane or no cotto at no 147. They will do like a catchweight of like 143 or 144. We all know why he fought oscar at 147.
Of course, he stays away from Mayweather's name. None of these guys have the balls to come out and call out the best fighter in the sport. The only times these Mosley, Cotto, Williams guys are calling out Mayweather is when they are talking to some anonymous boxing website that probably twists their words. 2 people have ever really called out Mayweather's name, Hatton and Marquez. Hatton was put to sleep. Marquez will be also. Every other fighter is calling their promoters out.
of course mosley wont be calling gayweather jr, he has nothing to gain. he is the champion and gayweather jr is nobody. fraud is a shit fighter
Mosely needs to fight mAYWEATHER. However he is not calling him out anymore since Mayweather returned. I wouldnt give Mosley any credit for a fight with Pac. Moslet is not De La Hoya.
Are you from Mars or something?
Mosley is still a very dangerous fighter and he showed against Margarito. Mosley-Pacquiao would make great fireworks and is a very risky but good fight for Pacquiao.

Williams called out Mayweather on HBO after beating Margarito. Mosley has called out Mayweather plenty of times in the last few years, even on national television, ESPN.

This is just an FYI Benny. Do you know that a "dead" Oscar threw more punches than Manny after 3 rounds? The problem is, he was whiffing all night, and if that left uppercut he threw in the 1st round landed, we won't be having this Pacman discussion now, instead we will be debating if Oscar's win over Manny was a legacy defining one (I'm sure it's not).
So a 147 pound Oscar by Fight-Night was healthy despite the obvious?
When was the last time Oscar weighed 147 pounds by fight-night and looked great?
Freddie didn't seem to think so either and he is in Pac's corner.
I have to go soon so if I don't respond, don't take offense. Just send me a message to respond later...
Its a shame they wont alter the weigh-in rule. I'm of the belief same day weigh-ins is the way to go. They need to fix this sh!t in boxing.
You want to fight at 147lbs...then it need to be 147lbs...not a 160lbs. Thats just lame.
Goes to show you just how small a welterweight Mayweather that he has to take on opponents outweighing him by more than 15lbs at welterwight to prove his greatness.
He can settle at 140 and fight who is there; I'm cool with that. But as long as we all understand that the only reason he fought Oscar (besides the money) was because he was dead. A 147 pound Oscar by fight-night is not only not the same WW Oscar that fought Shane, but not even the same Oscar that fought Floyd.
Because a person/fighter should want to fight someone at their best and if they can't meet them at their best/prime, then at least when they are healthy to fight. Shane is not in his prime so to make him cut weight would be even more damaging to him and your win.
You fight a drained fighter and beat them, that's your victory: You beat a drained fighter and that is why you won.
Is there any honor in Cotto and Shane fighting the smaller Floyd?
For Pac: In a way, yes, there is some honor in it because Pac is at his best. But no in terms of fair fight based on weight. So they obviously won't get the credit for fighting someone their size. But this does touch on the topic of Floyd fighting bigger fighters by fight-time as well as us taking a look at the HW division with fighters like Tyson and Chris Byrd who were smaller than there opponents.

Yeah i agree, But you can never win when you're the top guy in boxing..The thing is most of the big names fights at 147 but most of them are big WW.
Unless people like Timothy bradley becomes a sensation overnight the only big name fighters who Paq can fight at 140 without any question are Hatton,Mayweather or JMM.
I guess that's the cross he has to bear, one of those perks for being the top guy, were you can't just back down from a fight without giving a legitimate excuse even if the challenge was coming from Godzilla and Kong...
It's a no-win situation for Manny. If he decides to settle at 140 and clean up the division, I'm sure a bunch of haters/writers/critics will say, he ducked Cotto/Mosley/Floyd at 147 and a bunch of others. And if Cotto/Mosley wants the fight badly and decided to fight Pacman at a catchweight, why would it be Pacman/Freddie's concern if they're up against a supposedly "unhealthy" opponent? Will it be honorable for Cotto and Mosley if they defeated a smaller man as well?

sorry but i believe nacho berastain more than anyone saying, the weight was'nt the issue....i think oscar's mentality at that time and pac being too good costed oscar the fight!..
Whatever helps you sleep at night son.
So you are agreeing that Floyd, who weighs under 150 (like Pac), is at an unfair advantage against other WW like Shane and Cotto who will out-weigh him?
As well as fights in the past like Castillo who showed up as a WW?
I don't agree, if he's campaigning as a welterweight, he is not at a disadvantage, because he was up against a fellow welter, who also made the weight like him. And you make it sound like gaining a gazillion pounds overnight is a BIG advantage, it is not an advantage all the time. Gaining more pounds than usual overnight can be a deterrent too. I'm pretty sure you knew that too...
