Does anyone here watch old time boxing? Louis-Walcott decision is one for the ages, I suggest many of you to watch these fights instead of just looking at their boxrec's
London Olympics, 1908: Australia's Reginald "Snowy" Baker, who won Silver at middleweight, was the only non-British boxer to win a medal. Baker, believing that the referee was not impartial, protested his loss in the finals to John Douglas. Sour grapes? Hardly. The referee was Douglas' father!
Pac Bradley was pretty damn bad, when guys who are heavily critical of him (like Atlas and Mayweather Sr) are saying it was a horrible decision, you know whats up.
For a ref robbery, Jones-Griffin I. Screwjob after Griffin puts on the worst acting performance since SciFi Channel's last made for TV movie.....
PoetGiant Octopus vs. Megashark was a cinematic masterpiece :lol1:
Unless youre ONLY voting for pro boxing... If its all of boxing, its roy in the olympics, period. All three judges were investigated and suspended, the scoring system was changed because of it, and Roy was given fighter of the games.
You couldnt possibly get more lopsided than that fight, and give it to the other fighter, IN the fighters hometown country.
I voted Jones vs hung as by far the worst robbery of them all. Pacquiao Bradley was 2nd and Lewis Holyfield was third. I did not see Marquez vs.John. I don't think Pacquiao Marquez 3 and Whitaker Ramirez were robberies at all.Just my opinion.
You know what, as I said I would do, I came on here, admitted I felt Pac won, was one of his better performances, etc. But I have noticed something over the last few days...why is this the biggest robbery in boxing history? Why is this the worst thing that could ever happen? Why is this the biggest travesty ever? It is on every sports site, radio station, etc. etc. See this is what bothered me in the first place about this Pacmania bull****. If it happens to Pac is a pure tragedy and of course worse than if it happened to anyone else right? Where was the worldwide outrage when JMM got robbed (ironically) when he fought Manny? JMM beat Manny almost as convincingly as Manny beat Bradley? Oh but no one cared. Lara's loss to Williams was worse than this decision, so was Rios's win over Abril. It is funny, I read one article that says Bradley should not have won just because he threw more punches and was the aggressor, it is about effective aggression. Ironically though, that is the exact reason why Pac was given the nod over JMM the 3rd time, because was simply the aggressor and threw more punches. I agree Manny should have won and both fighters acted classy after the fact. But I just have to say this is why all of you Pac fans are so annoying. Pac is the best at everything, now that he got a crappy decision, this is the worst tragedy ever. Some of you are even blaming Floyd whos sitting in a ****ing jail cell not even with a TV or internet. I am sorry this happened and Manny was classy about it but man I am over all of you Pac fans. There is just no engaging any of you...its Pac on top of the world or nothing. He has fought like 60 times and he has been on wrong end of one bad decision, are you kidding me? Yeah it sucks...and it was a wrong decision but Jesus man. Life is not over, the world is not ending. I mean even though Manny won in my eyes, he also missed a lot, laid back a lot, got hit a lot and couldn't put Bradley away. That being said, I still have him 8-9 rounds and think he won a UD. See I can say that as a Floyd fan. What if Bradley really had earned the win? Would all of you Pacfans still cry tragedy? Probably. Maybe it is karma but I just none of this massive outrage when JMM got robbed last Nov.
Bradley/Pac imo shouldn't be on that list. It wasn't that big of a robbery in my eyes and in fact I felt JMM/Pac 3 was a bigger robbery. The rest of that list has some bad robberies though. I voted for Lara/Williams though because it's still fairly recent and it was super one sided.
A TRUE SPLIT DECISION isn't a robbery, it can go both ways - it's that close.
The fact that the Pac-Bradley turned into a Split Decision was even a travesty by itself let alone giving it to Bradley.
I don't like it when people cry conspiracy all the time in these situations but in this one I think you may be right, it crossed by mind. I mean I can respect people being humble and that that and can understand other people respecting Manny for how he handled it, but he seemed to handle it too well, when he lost to Morales he was crying and that and this time he was smiling and laughing and that, I got a vibe that he may know more than he let on.
Not saying that's definitley the case, but it crossed my mind and I can understand others thinking it, I wouldn't be surprised if they all was in on it. I genuinely think it was mainly Arums doing though.
well pac wasn't smiling and laughing when he first heard the decision. you could see on pac's face that he was genuinely upset by the decision at first, but i guess he must of realized there was no need to be so upset considering how many people were booing bradley and backing pac. he knew that the majority of people watching thought he won and i guess he could feel content with that. however, with the morales fight pac knew he had lost and everyone else who was watching knew that too..plus pac was hungrier back then and still was working on becoming the top guy in boxing and that loss halted his rise to fame..pac has already enjoyed being on top for awhile now and the success, and has already been contemplating retirement recently.
