Yea well I read Eaner saying it in the Maxboxing forums. Dude is pretty reliable.
It all comes from a stupid article that sounds really far fetched. In the article the guy claims that Floyd is knocking people out at will in sparring and that Shane is getting his ass kicked by sparring partners. The guy also brags about Floyd beating up Lamont even though most people say Lamont got the better of him.If you want to believe a article that says a light puncher is knocking everyone out in sparring and a guy ranked in the top 5 p4p by everyone is getting his ass kicked by all his sparing partners then go for it.
I think Shane really got to Floyd when he brought up the time he told Shane he wanted to be just like him because Floyd keeps bringing it up over and over.
To be honest i wouldn't be all that interested in this card even if it was on free HBO.I know who will win the main event and i would rather look at the wall for 36 min then watch Winky vs Mora.I think Diaz is nothing more than a gatekeeper level fighter at 140 and its easy to see he is not the same fighter that put up a great fight against JMM at 135.
boxing needs superstars to do good ppv numbers.
ufc just puts on a show and it'll do solid numbers.
i don't know why.
it seems casual fans watch boxing if there's a big fight on.
ufc can get casual fans just by having a show.
maybe it's because boxing sells names. that's why the big name boxing events will usually do better than big name ufc events.
however ufc sells the event itself not just the name. that's why non-big events outdo non-big boxing events.
The vast majority of UFC fans are trend followers.Thats why they can sell alot of cards that are not worth the money. The numbers show that the trend followers are starting to go away. Most boxing fans wont pay for a bad card like the UFC fans will.
i just laugh at all these guys who want to downgrade ufc.
ufc is no threat to boxing.
ufc's main competition is wwe/wwf not boxing.
a lot of mma fans are also boxing fans and vice versa.
mma is only a threat to wwe because it supplies a real version similar to pro wrestling.
I agree with you about the WWE being its main competition. If you look at the ppv buys for the WWE they have really gone down since the UFC became popular.
The last 8 UFC ppvs have all failed pretty bad though. They all were around 250k to 500k buys.Only one had more than 500k buys and it was only around 620k-650k.
That's true. They've been putting on shitty cards, throw that in with injuries and while still popular I think the hype is dying down..
I gotta agree with you on that.I think they would have done much better if it wasn't for the injuries but the hype is not there for the UFC like it was.The bad cards they have been putting on have also screwed up the amount of attention there next would be stars should have got as well.I think it will pick up over the next 5 or 6 cards because of all the talent coming back from there injuries but in the long run its all downhill for the UFC now.
Thats really screwed up for any one who considers them self to be a sports writer to use a word like coonery. This guy has no credibility because he was Floyds biggest fan boy back not to long ago and since Floyd stopped talking to him and doing stuff to help and promote his site all he does is trash him.

I like excuses before the fight even happens.
Im not making excuses all im saying is that the Mayweather that handled Hatton and DLH might not be the guy that shows up that night. There are alot of people who seem to think that Floyd will show up looking like he did before he retired and just shut out Shane because hes older and a bit past his prime.I think Floyd might not be aging as well as Shane is and he might not have all the tools to do alot of the things his fans think he will be able to.It just seems to me that to many people are looking at this fight like its prime Mayweather vs old Mosley.
shane was extremely nervous like he didn't want to be there for some reason.
I think he looked a little grumpy probably because he has to weigh in tomorrow so he hasn't had much to drink or eat today or nothing at all.
What's sad is Ross Greenburg is such a idiot he doesn't even understand how many amazing fights he could get in the lighter divisions for very little money.I bet you could put on a 8 man single elimination tournament at jr welter for less than the 10 mill it cost HBO for De La Hoya vs Forbes.
Timothy Bradley
Nate Campbell
Marcos Rene Maidana
Amir Khan
Devon Alexander
Juan Manuel Marquez
Joan Guzman
Edwin Valero
those fighters in a 8 man single elimination tournament would be beyond amazing
Nice to see Floyd growing up some and being more responsible with his money.I'm not a fan of his but i hate to see any fighter left with no money at the end of there career.
This year since we went into a bad recession hbo has only been putting the big matches on ppv.The last 6 months have been bad because alot of fights fell through but we are ending the year good.We have alot of good fights coming up in the next 3 months.
Chad Dawson vs Glen Johnson
Lucian Bute vs Librado Andrade
Joan Guzman vs Ali Funeka
Kelly Pavlik vs Paul Williams
Sergio Martinez vs Joshua Clottey
Manny Pacquiao vs Miguel Cotto
Arthur Abraham vs Jermain Taylor
Carl Froch vs Andre Dirrell
Mikkel Kessler vs Andre Ward
Timothy Bradley vs Lamont Peterson
Nikolay Valuev vs David Haye
Why this guy gets so many fights on HBO is beyond me.He's at the bottom of the top 10 list of jr welters. He's not a horrible fighter but because theres so much talent at 140 right now he is just irrelevant. If HBO want to keep giving this guy dates for some reason they should just use him as a gatekeeper and match him up against young talent trying to make it into the top 10 of the division.
This thread is retarded. The main difference between Boxing and MMA is that if Pacquiao and Mayweather were UFC fighters, Dana White would have made that fight happen.
I would like to know how you came to the conclusion that this is the main difference between boxing and mma.If Pac and Floyd were both with Arum then the fight would also get made.Let me know when Dana makes Fedor vs Brock and then you can talk about fights not getting made in boxing.
