He usually loves Williams with all his heart and soul, but had Martinez winning tonight. just didnt expect it.
In general, I thought Kellerman did an exceptionally good job tonight. Im liking him more and more. very straightfoward.
Great fight by the way. NOT a robbery, and in fact a Draw might have been an excellent score, but personally I had Martinez winning, would love to see a rematch at 154lbs.
btw wtf was Lederman thinking giving Williams the 11th round?

I'm pretty sure that for as much of a fan as he is of P-Dub, he's always loved Martinez (and Juan Manuel Marquez) just a little bit more.
I agree with the spirit of the thread, though; Max did a very good job tonight.
Very entertaining fight, with as many punches thrown and landed, that would give anyone difficulty scoring. Unless you're the complete nut job that scored it 119-110, then you should be executed. I had Williams by 2 rounds based mostly around how many jabs he landed. I also think Martinez exposed Williams. If he had the tank that would last him more than 3 rounds, he probably would have won by KO. Regardless it was a great fight, and I saw Williams was going to win regardless also because he's been with HBO for awhile and he's one of their biggest fighters, where as Martinez isn't.
And that's why we got that 119-110 score too!!
Kellerman had to finally realize Williams is not that good.
I disagree. I think Williams is quite good, and a very bad style matchup for many fighters. Winky may have been old and inactive, but Williams did more damage to him than anyone since Julio Cesar Vasquez, and beat him far more dominantly than Hopkins did.
Martinez is just a talented fighter(although imo with so-so stamina) with a slick southpaw stance that gives Williams' style a lot of problems...which was very much the same case as Quintana.
both are talented fighters. not the absolute best imo, but definitely praiseworthy and worth watching.
The style clashes in boxing is one of the best parts of the sport, and I flat out loved the fight tonight.
I really dont think Kellerman is biased(although...yea he gets overenthusiastic sometimes). I think hes one of the most honest guys in commentary. cheers to him.
again, I would love to see a rematch at 154lbs.
mayweather iq vs. kellerman iq...kellerman first round KO...i dont think kellerman gives a rats ass what mayweather says...
great fighter, but one of the dumbest people ive ever heard talk...
ah, what about Ring IQ's though?
I dunno , Max has seemed different since that interview with FLoyd

I tend to think Kellerman is accurate in his descriptions of fights. I thought he was good again tonight.
Very good action fight tonight and close either way. I had Martinez by | | that much but that could change upon viewing it again.
The 11th was a clear Martinez round. He landed the best punches of the round and blunted anything Williams tried to do.
I think Kellerman's a bit jaded...
He's lost his boyish enthusiasm ever since Floyd sonned him in front of millions

Kellermans respect for the sport overcame his love for Williams tonight, and in doing so he gained my respect. Williams fans can lie to themselves all they want but its clear Paul is not living up to the hype.
kellerman is one of the best things boxing has going for it...he's a bonafide a-list sportscaster who loves boxing more than most of us...
most of the negative feedback directed towards him seems to be racially motivated...
i dont see why a lot boxing fans dont seem to appreciate the guy...name somebody better...
Kellerman gets on my nerves most of the time, but tonite didn't as much. But he made me laugh when he said Martinez is a SUPER Quitanna hahahaha dumbass

Props to him. notice the PUSSY Tunney not giving him props after trashing him all these years for being a racist Paul Williams fan

kellerman likes counterpunchers and stylists... he's less impressed with fighters and warriors in the ring.
Kellerman is always excellent. The hate on this board for him is rediculous. I wish HBO would just have Bob Papa and Max Kellerman do every single fight. Dump Lampley, Merchant, Lewis, and Lederman.
I agree. Some people only like him if he says somethjing that favors a fighter they like. If he praises fighters they don't like(Mayweather, Paul Williams) then he's made out to be a buffoon. Although I have no problem with most of their team (HBO).

The 11th was close I thought. Martinez was dead tired and holding a lot. Both traded punches. No one sided round
