Or will Mosley always loose because he sometimes throws wide shots and gets countered with jabs and straights from fighters like Wright, Cotto, and Forrest.
Undecided. IMO prime Pbf is more easy to hit than today's version. He was much more offensive minded that he took risk in placing his combos.. Have the advantage in lateral movement.Mosley's prime would mean shear athleticism, KO power in both hands, possible advantage in handspeed.
For sure, Floyd will outbox him. But he will get hit during exchanges. I'm not sure how will Floyd react to a flush shot from a prime Mosley. If he could, he would probably win a close UD.
Prime Mosley against potshotting Floyd ... IMO, Floyd would coast to a comfortable win.
If Mayweather faced the same opposition Mosley did at 135; he would have looked almost as impressive. Mosley didn't beat anyone at 135. Anyway, prime Mayweather vs. Mosley could go either way at 147. At 135, I'd pick Floyd.
Augustus actually had 16 losses when he fought Mayweather, who was hit far more in this fight than in any other. Mosley was a killer at 135, dazzlingly fast, with a KO punch in either hand, I don't see how he could NOT overwhelm Mayweather at that weight and level.
He won all his defences by KO I think, punching too fast to see almost, and carried his KO punch right into the 12th round. Mayweather, although stylish and with flair, is really nothing special, that is, if you pay no attention to his shameless bragging and self promotion.
great post.... you know some things bruh
NO..Shane has more a chance now at 147..the hungry quicker Floyd would box circles On Mosley..I think now Mosley is alot more smarter..and Floyd isnt as quick..so it evens it out..

dude at first i was like u kno waht ur tlking bout but then u had to add tht last line...wtf r u tlkin bout???the best pure boxer of this era is nothing special??? riiiite.
Shane fights nothing like those guys, he's not unorthodox like Augustus and his inside game is nowhere near Castillo's. Plus, Augustus had about 10 or so losses going in so it's possible he got underestimated by Team Mayweather.
At that point, Floyd would deliver in his biggest fights, just saying.

I'm not sure. Mosley has had trouble with guys that were bigger and that had a jab. Mayweather isn't really bigger and he isn't known to have a jab like DLH, Winky, Forrest. But I would have to lean Mayweather regardless

at 135 lbs, it would be a great fight.
Yes, Mosley the 135 lb beast beat the legendary Golden Schlong and ATGs John Molina and Jesse James Leija. Oh, he UD'd Phillip Holliday as well.
Mosley gets outboxed by the boat buyer at any weight.
Yea beasty 33-0 with 30KO's all title defenses ended in KO's. Beat top 10 LWs at the time. Yea beasty...
Is it possible that weaksauce Shane could land just as much as lets say Agustus landed against Floyd? Is it also possible that Shane was faster and hit harder than Agustus at 135? Is it possible that Shane was a better body puncher and more explosive than Agustus was at 135? And, Floyd has said that is the toughest fight of his career right?
Is it possible again that Shane was faster and stronger than Castillo was at 135? Is it possible that he had more power than Castillo at 135? If this 3 fights at 135 were 3 of Floyd toughest fights in his career. Could it be possible that Shane at 135 could beat him?
Because, it seems to me like some people are judging the fight from what they saw from Shane at 147 and 154. At 135 he was a totally differenat animal. Just like how Floyd was totally different at 130 than what he is at 147.
he hit the body much better at 35......don't know why he stopped at 147....that always puzzled me :dunno:
i think SSM is faster and more powerful......but i don't think he would disrupt Mayweathers rythm like Castillo was able to do....
That could be true too... Castillo did by smart pressure, smothering, body punching, and infighting. His style is different from what Shane was at 135.
Shane at 135 was not only faster in hand and footspeed but was also more explosive. And, threw way more combos. At 147 he does not throw the combos as fluidly as he did at 135. And, also even though Floyd beat Castillo clearly the second time. It was still competitive. And, Shane was way better than Castillo faster and more of a powerful puncher.

i think it's one of those situations where Floyd would prob lose the first fight, but win a subsequent rematch and then the rubber match after he adjusts.
I could see a scenerio like that...
At 135 maybe, some people forget how much of a beast Shane was at 135. And, people forget that Floyd even though he stopped Agustus he was getting hit alot by Agustus at 135. And, Floyd had two tought fights against Castillo at 135. And, Shane Mosley at that weight was light years better than both those guys. People really forget how beasty Shane was. And, Floyd threw a lot more at 135 so he had more openings to get hit. I
s not an easy win for Floyd at all. Shane Mosley at 135 could possibly beat him. But, Floyd could easily win also.
and who exactly was shane beating @ 135?

Mosley has a better shot at 147 than he would have at 135.....Floyd is slower with hand and foot at 147 whereas Shane is about the same as he was at LW.......i feel like Floyd would beat SSM at 135 the way he did to Castillo in the second fight......just not even let Shane get off and constantly be moving.....Shane has a good chance of catching Floyd at 147 IMO
