i loved watching roy jones fight, i didnt miss one of them. he got me and probably millions of other fans to watch the sport that gets no coverage on any network. so how can you hate someone who didnt try and didnt care to blow up the sport but did it anyway with not his mouth but his skills. i guess thats the way hate whose standing on top and then when he's not at the top we kick all the way down.
hbo is the bigger name but i think showtime puts on the better fights. hbo just has bigger names and a bigger budget but they stop fighters from fighting each other it's their track record. not trying to hate on hbo but they need to improve and perhaps this is a step in the right direction.
i agree gatti cant hang with mayweather and shouldnt try it again. i dont even think mosley should mess with pbf for that matter. we all want to see pbf fight the hittman and then for him to take on whoever else is left.

i dont see what hopkins is doing fighting tarver. i've also bought his last four fights and they're all real slow. i think there'll be more action in the cotto fight. i also want to see two youngsters trying to come up than two at the end of their careers.

roy jones already beat a prime toney and a prime hopkins so that part is settled. i didnt give joe a shot at beating lacy but thought it would go the distance. if he fought a prime roy it wouldnt go the distance that i'm fairly confident about it. roy would dominate everyone at this weight.
i remember the build up to that fight toney was calling roy out the entire time and roy just played it calm and cool and let his fist do the talking. which did a lot of talking. he didnt just beat him he embaraced toney that night with the chicken move and then the knock down.
and you can just see the confidence oozing out of roy. no way anyone would beat him at that weight.

You are way way wrong here. Read your damn history, for god's sakes. Read about W.E.B. DuBois and Booker T. Washington. These guys were advocating for black rights at the SAME time that Johnson was fighting. There were guys who were doing so even earlier. The late 19th century and early 20th century were full of black activists.
This just makes Johnson an even bigger jerk for thinking only about himself when so many other people were looking up to him. And Joe Louis fought only white guys because the same racial problems existed in his time. Only after WW2 did the public start accepting other black challengers.

rjj was determined to get to him that night. rjj doesnt get credit for his boxing skills it seems like. he was pretty complete he just choose not to execute it every time he fought because he was light speed and every one else was stuck in quick sand. if that fight got out of the first it wouldnt have lasted too much longer.
his biggest mistake was fighting tito way too early in his career but he would have been fine beaten but fine had he not injured his eye so badly.
he had to fight with one eye the tale end of what should have been his road to fame and glory.
