Floyd Mayweather has rubbished Ricky Hatton's claims to his throne - insisting his American dream will go the same way as Naseem Hamed's.
The Pretty Boy is on collision course with the Hitman after the IBF and WBA light-welterweight king this week confirmed he is headed for the United States - probably to fight WBC welterweight champion Carlos Baldomir first.
Mayweather has signed up to meet Zab Judah first before he can contemplate Hatton, but has blamed that on the Mancunian's decision to acclimatise to boxing in the States.
"For the 99th time they don't want me just yet," he told **********.com. "They need at least one or two tune-ups before they jump in there.
"What does that tell you about what kind of champion he is? It's asburd that he needs tune-ups."
Mayweather also scoffed at Hatton's standing in the boxing world, even though he is the number one light-welterweight on the planet and is being courted by American pay-per-view giants HBO and Showtime.
The best pound-for-pounder says he will go the same way as Prince Naseem Hamed - who was a superstar on these shores but suffered a sorry defeat at the hands of Marco Antonio Barrera when he tried to break into the big time across the pond.
"The only young and up comer from over there (in Britain) I know who could become a champion is Ricky Hatton, but until he starts acting like one and fights me, he's nothing but a prospect - a prospect that needs more schooling.
"But that's where I come in. Put him in the ring with the truth and I'll do him like Barrera did the Prince. You'll never see him in a America again!"
Mayweather also revealed that he wanted to fight Kostya Tszyu but was beaten to the one-time light-welterweight king by Hatton.
And after "dominating Judah from pillar to post" in April, the man who wants to retire undefeated with five world titles at different weights says he wants a showdown with six-weight titlist Oscar de la Hoya.
That would mean an emotion-charged reunion with his father Floyd Mayweather Snr, who controversially left his son to train the Golden Boy on his way to boxing history.
De la Hoya meets Ricardo Mayorga at light-middleweight in May and with Mayweather fighting for Judah's IBF welterweight crown, if the pair are successful, the Pretty Boy could move up to 154lb and challenge for that fifth title at different weights.

i like hatton going for the belt that will help the build up to him and pbf. with out what is hatton? just an up and commer trying to make a name in the u.s. but with the belt he would have a solid victory on u.s. soil and help set up fights with cotto or an ugly loss to mayweather. i like hatton a lot but pbf will make him look a lot like he made gatti look. dont get me wrong hatton would kill gatti but he wont look any better versus mayweather than gatti did. and that wasnt very pretty at all.
When Hatton/Baldimor happens we'll see if we can come to an arrangement regards a bet.
I cant commit anymore on Calzaghe/lacy I'm afraid. I'll use the winnings from that bet to fund futher bets.

Hatton vs Baldozar is a complete and utter joke. This guy is clearly taking the path of least resistance. He doesn't want Floyd, but he wants Baldy. If he really wants a legit 147lb title then he should go after Margarito(not to take anything away from Baldy but, Hatton would slaughter this guy).
Ok, here is my problem with this. When hatton says something, about who he wants to fight next or something like that, everyone believes him. HOwever, when floyd says something, no one believes him, and hes bullshitting etc etc. its really annoying and pisses me off
No its the fact that when he says he is fighting someone he is deadly serious, even though everyone else thinks he is joking :lol1: (Zab Judah im talking about)

In terms of legacy perhaps not.
If we are talking about the better fighter, how can anyone say Tszyu is the best fighter when he lost to Hatton. And then to add to my point, Tszyu admitted he was the worse fighter... case closed.
the better fighter now, yes, hatton definitly is, but zoo is done.
eXig don't even talk to Undefeated he says lol every sentence and generally doesn't know shit except the color of Cotto's panties. It will be funny when Hatton does give Floyd a very, very hard fight and to hear the excuses.
LOL you on exige nutsack kid how does it taste? Cotto's panties?? What are you another brit that thinks hatton is going to be a star?? Ha all of you make me laugh.
You are a Cotto hater... and have no life for taking a picture of yourself with that message on the pic.. HA!
Hatton + Calzaghe = 2 Bums with 2 Padded records
I actually agree with whoever said Hatton has pretty much surpassed Tszyu in terms of accomplishment. When you think about it, Tszyu's best win was against Judah...which really doesn't mean anything now that Judah has been completely exposed. Hatton pummeled Tszyu and Maussa and a list of names of fighters Tszyu beat a few years earlier. Tszyu was in the p4p charts because he just had one loss and dominated his rather empty 140 division, which is just now blossoming. Hatton is top 5 p4p easy right now and he's already looking to accomplish more. If Hatton beats Mayweather, he is without a doubt the best fighter in the world.
I agree, and this fight MUST HAPPEN!
hatton is nowhere near why zoo accomplished
