Stop with this bs.Win over Canelo much better than over Thurman. Canelo destroyed Josecito Lopez and Mayweather destroyed Canelo. Thurman was almost knocked out by Lopez.
And you can find Pacquiao wins better than the Canelo win. What's your point? They were roughly even in accomplishments before this fight so I dont understand how you can say its "bs".
If Canelo beats Benavidez then moves up and wins another belt at 175 against Bivol or Beterbiev then he will have one of the best resumes in history. He will be the betting favorite in all of those fights.
No one in history is outboxing Fury. Best chance of beating him are the smaller unconventional punchers like Marciano, Mike Tyson, Joe Frazier who can maybe catch him with an overhand and put his lights out, but my money wouldn't be on it...
I like Rigo but how do you say that Ward is your most boring and Rigo your 2nd most exciting? Have you even watched any of their fights?
And Klit most exciting? LOL.
I think this will be Kovalev vs Ward 1, Canelo vs GGG 1,
Fury is the better boxer and will win with the fans, BUT he is not going to be allowed to win, unless he goes for the KO, and I think he knows it... and THAT is why Wilder will catch him once and Kenny will call it off.
I think you've hit the nail on the head with this post and it's the reason this fight is 50-50. Fury has Wilder, the judges and the ref against him.
Some good points. Unfortunately the illusion is the puncher has an easier time of it... In fact a lot of things have to go right for the puncher to succeed.
Frankly I have a few observations about why this is close regarding the odds:
1) The judges, Moreitti especially is bought and paid for. I am thinking the judges will handicap for the sake of Wilder
2) There may have been a few problems in the Fury camp.
Otherwise there is no way this would even be close, Fury would be the favorite by a mile.
That’s why I’m hesitant to bet big on Fury. I don’t think Haymon would’ve let this rematch take place without some safety nets in place especially now that Fury is with Arum.
The betting places have the odds even. It is a 50/50 fight. Fury benefited last time from a slow counting ref that gave him a bunch of walk this way tests that gave Fury extra recovery time. A puncher can win a rematch just as easily as a boxer can. Fury says he is going for a 2nd round KO which favors Wilder. Fury says he is coming in at 270 which is way to heavy and that also favors Wilder. So far more posters in this poll are picking Wilder and Wilder is my pick to win by KO of course.
I know the bookies have it even hence me saying Fury is over the odds. It wasn't a slow count, it's common for refs to ask fighters to show they're able to fight. This is isn't like the old days when they would immediately start fighting after getting up lol.
Anyone notice the huge strength difference at the final press conference? Wilder pushing Fury was like watching someone trying to push a car. Fury shoved him right across the stage with a flick of his wrist. After that Wilder remained seated, repeating “sit down! Sit down!” Ha. He was shook.
Yeah I noticed that. Will be interesting if Fury really does act on his claim of taking the fight to Wilder and fighting on the inside because he's clearly the stronger (and much bigger) fighter.
It is an absolute fact that Fury ran from the rematch by signing with TR and taking 2 easy fights rather than the immediate rematch. His beating Wilder's ass doesn't in any way change that.
Fury made the right business decision and capitalized on his performance in the 1st Wilder fight by making a few million with TR.
How did he run from the rematch when they fought only a year after the first fight?
The thing about Ali is though, in the fights where he "rose to the occasion" he wasn't dominant like Fury was, in fact he got battered in some of those fights. Fury rose several levels above what everyone expected of him in his big fights. I admit that Ali's competition was also levels above Fury's though so I understand your point.
I think anyone who brings up that Salido loss as some kind of argument against Loma's ability should answer the question:
Which other fighter in history would have done as well in their second pro fight?
Anyway, I have a huge amount of respect for Morales. Who would win? I have no idea. I'd like to wait until Loma's career is over before trying to compare him to past greats.
Dude come on. Mayweather would beat Salido as an olympic amateur. De La Hoya knocks him out.
That’s a funny theory but I get the feeling Wilder really is dumb enough to believe all the excuses and will come out swinging in 3rd fight. He will eventually get clipped and be knocked out for real this time, asleep on the canvas.
The whole build up to this fight smelled fishy from the jump. It never had that big fight feeling. Hardly any promotion. It's like Haymon been planning this from the beginning
The advantages that the UFC has over boxing are:
1) Monopoly where everyone is under the same promoter so big fights are able to happen more often
2) Their overall promotion (Promos, documentaries, production level) craps all over boxing’s. This allows the fans be invested in fighters more and so buy their ppvs
3) This one might be controversial but I feel like UFC fighters in general are just smarter than boxers and are able to communicate more effectively to the fans. This most likely has to do with most of them having gone to college for wrestling, football, etc. Guys like Fury exist in boxing but they are an anomaly where it seems in UFC every second guy is a good trash talker.
He's Amir Khan but with 100lb of muscle that helps him take shots better. People underestimate how much conditioning and neck strength help take shots.
Smh this is why the ufc is killing boxing. No one cares about Al Haymon and his “smart bidness movez”. Just make the fight happen. Canelo calls all the shots. Just like Mayweather did before him. If the fight doesn’t get made we know who’s to blame.
This is a pretty ridiculous statement by Floyd and he knows it. Maybe Pacquiao has to fight, but clearly he doesn't need to fight Errol Spence. He can make millions against anyone. He's fighting Spence for Legacy and Floyd sounds jealous and scared that he might pull it off.
Am I the only one who thinks Jake Paul looks like sh1t for someone thats been training for 3 years? The guy can’t throw a straight right hand and looks awkward when getting rushed by amateurs.
I think Pacquiao has a legitimate chance of losing to Castillo, 154lb Oscar De La Hoya, Canelo, and of course, Marquez. I think he would go through Floyd's Resume the same way he went through his own, with a few losses.
dude must be struggling to make weight according to some reports
Yeah, Algieri looked like he put on a little too much muscle for this fight. Dude looks shredded.
We've all heard Floyd speak and attempt to read and seen his attempts at business outside of boxing.
Please put this he's a genius mastermind crap to rest... His IQ is very likely in the mentally retarded range.
He's just been boxing since he was very young. He is not some dynamic ring geometrician who will stupify Manny into losing. We know what's coming: The shoulder roll and the counter right hand. That's it. No further analysis necessary.
You do realize when people say "Ring IQ" it has nothing to do with the IQ that you are referring to? Again, If you think that all Mayweather does is "shoulder roll and counter right hand" then you're either a moron, or you hate the guy so much that you refuse to give him any credit. If all it takes is to "shoulder roll and counter" then everyone would do it.
