Chaves could not handle rios on the inside, his only option was to clinch and hold because he would of got busted up otherwise. SMH was looking forward to this fight. If Chaves just box and move he probably wins by a couple of rounds but he just straight up b1tched out. Rios needs to move down to 140 and fight Provodnikov next.
I thought Pacquiao had a slight edge in 2010 too much speed and power but recently gave the edge to Mayweather being too smart and sharp but after tonight i think its 50/50 now.
Not sure he should retire he still has a few fight left yet but Lets be real here Floyd is 37 years old, he has slowed down compared to his peak physical years but he has gained so much experience that it off sets his decline and hes so good defensively that most fighters cant take advantage.
Watched the fight with no sound and honestly scored it a draw 114-114, close fight! can't argue if it went either way but chino almost pulled it off credit to him for a great effort.
Everything about this fight says Mayweather by UD but Chino has to have so much confidence coming off that Broner win.
Big fan of Chino no bs just pure fighter going for the huge upset Maidana KO late
floyd is a very very good fighter and in time we will call him a great fighter, but for me its the fact that guys like Sugar Ray Robinson, Sugar Ray Leonard, Roberto Duran ect.... Have a better caliber of fighters on there records. they really captured the imagination of fans by the way the fought, this is why they will always get more respect from hardcore fans. its more than just how many belts you won and how many champions you faced.
Skill wise he is right up there with the legends of any era but like sugar said his resume is very good but it definitely could/should have been better.
In my opinion there are a number of guys who would have matched Mayweather achievements had they been around today.
Money May would not be undefeated had he not been fortunate enough to fight in this era.
1.JMM - great style match up, JMM loves to fight guys who bring it and Prodnikov brings it.
2.Rios - Both guys can bang, both guys have good chins and neither one backs up, guaranteed FOTY.
3.Bradley - First fight was very close and left a lot of questions to be answered.
I not sure if Quillin is overrated. He is a good solid fighter, he has decent skills and punches hard but he has some obvious flaws to his game. I think he will probably knock out some good fighters and get knocked out by some better ones, but he's always fun to watch and can be in some big fights over the next few years at 160 or eventually 168.
The business of Boxing has always been corrupt! casual fans need to know the history of prizefighting, Hate it or love it boxing will always have a black eye so to speak just look where the "sport" came from and where its at today?
Great match up, not sure who to go for but think maybe provodnikov might take this. I like Alvarado he can brawl and box, he has the heart and determination to win but Provodnikov is a real fighter.
Provodnikov TKO 10
Both guy gave everything but Provodnikov imposed his will on Alvarado and would not be denied, this guy is a monster. Ruslan is one of best pressure fighter around right now, very few fighters can keep him off.
Any one think that Alvarado needs a long rest, been in some brutal wars and might not be the same afterwards if you know what I mean, but like Roy Jones said "He took it like a man"
Great fight!
You know in boxing anything can happen but a mayweather pure KO is doubtful even a TKO is unlikely but I wont say it is impossible, especially if Canelo tires badly down the stretch and walks on to some crisp sharp Money bombs.
Lot of people to blame HBO not pushing hard enough, Arum, Haymon, TMT, drug labs and all that **** but the buck stops with the fighters, could have, should have been a great fight.
Much respect to Bradley for implementing a great game plan, just too slick, faster hands, faster feet, the better athlete no question.
JMM is a great champion but still does not look like a 147 pounder to me but to say he can hold his own at this weight and not be overwhelmed even at his age is remarkable.
Khan seems to get hurt badly almost every clean shot that lands, he only has hand speed going for him, gets his footwork mixed up too often, his defense is not great and most importantly his ring intelligence is not great. Garcia has a big advantage in confidence, ring generalship, power, chin, strength and solid basic fundamentals like footwork and timing so at this point I can only see garcia with a win, most likely by late ko.
I often think they should fade a few weight classes out.
say get rid of 106, 108 and just start at flyweight. I would love boxing to go back to the 8 original weights.
The thing about Floyd is despite him being practically a living legend, you just wanna see him pushed in a classic fight where he has to step up and deliver an ATG performance but right now no one can touch him so he easily out thinks his opponents, he doesn't have to really dig deep down to pull out a spectacular win against these guys, Maybe Pac or perhaps Canelo could be that kind of fight but with Floyd's ring IQ I doubt it.
Feel bad for Rosado it was a close fight. Rosado was coming on down the strech an Quillin was looking tired. Terrible stoppage, this is for the title and they robbed Rosado again.
