QUillin was game to fight he adjusted his style and Rosado got his eye ripped open....You cant assume that quillin wont win against sergio or gladkin GGG hasnt fought any real challenges. styles make fights and rosado had a problematic style but quillin got the job done end of story
Golovkin hasn't fought any challenges? He did beat the hell out of the guy Quillin struggled with last night. He also destroyed Macklin, better than anyone Quillin's fought.
Rosado was able to buckle his legs a few times and I think just missed being able to go in for the kill at the end of a round.
Quillin is overrated, but not that much. Only Sergio and Gennady are ranked above him and they should be.
I don't think people understand what overrated is. He's a top 5 middleweight. The third spot is debatable but putting him there isn't overrating him.
He definitely did look more vulnerable than in any of his previous fights. He needs to improve his stamina is lacking. And he looked really uncomfortable on the inside.
I just know that if Golden Boy's intention with Rosado was for Quillin to show up Golovkin, Quillin failed that goal miserably.
The one thing they can say that Golovkin couldn't do is knock Rosado down.
Golovkin was able to cut Rosado earlier and had him on the back foot the whole fight as opposed to getting pressured and hurt by Rosado and having the fight stopped almost instantly
Quillin has great explosiveness and power, but they only come at spurts. He has terrible stamina issues and is not a good boxer. He needs to learn how to win rounds and not rely on his power. Rosado was backing him up badly yesterday and quillin got lucky with the cut because he was on his way to getting his ass whipped in the last 4 rounds, even tho the robbery was in play
Quillin does have good power and a great balance. Don't know where they get that he is such a a murderous puncher. Also his stamina is always an issue in his fight that causes the inconsistency.
He is solid but he is nothing special or outsanding
Hes a total fraud that only wins fights because of his shady connections with Haymon and GBP
Thomas Hauser already ethered him when he talked about the shady ass sh*t that went on during the Winky fight
What happened during the Winky fight? I have not seen it.
Haven't even watched the fight yet, dude is a bum. been saying it. Fcker talks a bunch of sht cuz he knows hayman and gb have him covered. Still waiting for this dude to take a test without having the results thrown out.
Quillin had a bloody mouth. He was also stunned by Rosado. Golovkin never was.
He was hurt, one good shot from going down imo. He was lucky the round ended when it did.
I saw both fighters have there moments in there. But towards the end I thought Rosado was showing more wear and I think Quillin was coming on. But they should have let it go on to the end of the round.
Honestly I think it's more a case of Rosado being underrated. With that said I think Quillin's claims that he's just as good as Golovkin look a lot less credible now.
I didn't know that anyone was overrating Quillin or rating him that highly to begin with, so I abstained from voting in this poll. Would have appreciated a "not overrated" option but I suppose that is too much to ask for.
How was he about to lose the fight? How is it that the guy who got dropped, got his eyelid tore open and was losing clearly on the cards (whether you agree w/them or not) was about to win the fight? Rosado wasn't remotely close to stopping Quillin and had the fight been allowed to continue, the badly damaged eye (and assuming it didn't fall off) would likely have played against Rosado. Let's try to be reasonable here for a second. :pat:
Fair scoring and no stoppage could have got Rosado the win. He was a +600 underdog! The point is that like this thread suggests, Quillin is/was massively overrated...bookies including. If they ever rematch, it would be a 50-50 fight in the real world.
Quillin was definitely wobbled but he sucked it u , and continued. He was doing retty good when the fight was halted. The jab that caused the cut almost caused a knockdown. Quiliin seemed like maybe he should have trained harder but I think he was starting to turn the fight back in his favor.
Quillin was huge odds favorite for this fight and he was on his way to losing it imo.
He is B level.

Agreed. Thank you for the polling. It's very accurate and scientific. I'll consider including these numbers in my next column in the Japan Times.
That'd be an honor. I'm a huge fan of your work. I'll send over a fax asap. I'm sure Japan thanks you for your commitment to excellence.
And the overrating continues..
The poll numbers are coming in well btw. I'll keep it going for a bit more then I'll close it and pass it along to my superiors.

I don't think most ppl overrate him...he's a good fighter just doesn't appear to be elite...but I did have a feeling Rosado would give him a little trouble...shame the fight ended that way...
And once again boxing embarasses itself with those garbage scorecards...
I'd rather have blood in my mouth than a busted eye lol. Quillin did better with less experience than GG and a much more game Rosado
You can't tell if Quillin's face is marked up because he is Chocolate...Kid Chocolate.
