BoxingScene.com has been advised that Joseph Agbeko (29-4, 22KOs) will be training in Las Vegas, at the Mayweather Boxing Club, with Roger Mayweather, the trainer/uncle of Floyd Mayweather Jr. Agbeko is preparing for his HBO televised main event battle against undefeated WBA/WBO super bantamweight champion Guillermo Rigondeaux (12-0, 8KOs) on December 7th at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.
Agbeko informed his manager, Frank Espinoza, that he was going to use Mayweather's training services. Rigondeaux is trained by respected Cuban coach Pedro Diaz, who previously trained Miguel Cotto.
"I think it's a good move. I think Agbeko's chances to win have been elevated with his decision to bring in Roger Mayweather, the trainer of the pound-for-pound king. Agebko always wanted this fight. He feel very confident, and so do I, that we're going to leave with the WBA/WBO titles that night," Espinoza told BoxingScene.com.
