well if you signed it the worst case scenrio could be he will throw you to the wolves to pad some other fighters record.
Better concentrate on other stuff and have more opened options
I will always love boxing as well, the point of the thread isn't to degrade the sport.
My point is that people can't go on saying "boxing is fine, don't worry" when there are less good fights, less money to go around and less people tuning in to watch.
If boxing isn't careful it will end up like American Car companies who never felt a serious threat from their foreign competition until it was much too late.
well but GM, Ford and Chrysler never went down. It not about foreign competition but mostly about changing there way of doing business.
Boxing could create some drama similar to WWE but that will only make it look like it trying to imposter in front of MMA which already doing that.
Another boxing could go for WBO, WBC, IBF and WBA alliance and make unit for one world title which might not happen. But that also wont guarntee success.
and having PPV reduced is also good idea so people could tune.
another idea is to add some young people into the table with the people who comment of the fight. otherwise if some of the old guy go away or retire it could be very hard for sudden change.
Boxing is a sport and usally sport down disappear. example there is these brass fishing comptition or golf even if people dont tune much and is borning still it there to stay.
He definitely doesn't look fat, he looks muscular....
Damn he's added a lot of muscle. It can't be good for his speed, there's no way he can retain the speed he had in previous fights. It will be interesting to see what he looks like fight night.
football players and rugby player have alot of muscle and speed.
The better question is not about speed but stamina. imagine carried extra weight and moving around.
as long as he believe he could it enough for himself.
Nobody though Baldmoir would win against Zab, Manny KO Oscar or Douglas KOing Tyson.
so anything could happen.
It look Marquez is really going at it 12 km per day uphill at once is amazing thing.
declining or not I still love boxing what ever MMA is doing I dont really care.
It could mean decline ind PPV prices as well as seats. and maybe pay a little extra you get to get in the ring with the Champ after the fight.
be optimistic on these stuff
The thing is that most of the training is done before the fight.
For some fighters they need abit time to develop certain skills but the problem is when a person hears a train to do something which would win the fight for the fighter but he doesnt people critize the fighter.
You just cant learn and understand certain skills between the rounds and suddenly exectue it the next round. Not everybody could do that.
Mexico is a good enviroment to train for boxers.
You got high elevation and also sea beside it and good weather from time to time with not alot of publicity to come.
As well as very good sparring partners
i agree... for most boxers.. but Pacman?? the mexicutioner.. lol.. the man who destroys all mexican in mexico.. thats like bernard hopkins moving and training full time in Puerto Rico.. lol.. People are still mad about the Tito loss and the fact he stepped on the flag didnt help it either.. i think its crazy.. go to the bahamas like they were talking about before. .
Hopkins threw the Puerto Rican Flag and is abit cocky.
But Pac looks humble and does do alot of publicity stunt.
He also a friend of Erik Morales and some Mexicans are good fans for Pac.
USA is abit expensive also to train American boxer to spar
Why didnt any of you guys bring up the fact that the kidnapping rate is crazy high there right now. Also with the drug cartels going to war with movie type weapons doesnt strike as hmm I shouldnt train here to you guys?
but still many Americans go there for vacation if those guys from The Hills had there honeymoon there so it okay.
Pac has some of his friends there that know about this stuff and know how to secure his saftey.
180 days for all foriegner fightingfig even if Canadian or Puerto Rican?
Pryor's victory over Arguello that night has always been tainted.
"Legendary Nights" tried to gloss over it quite a bit when they covered the fight back in 2003.
Resto's confession in the car about Lewis' mixing habits certainly contributes even further to the dark cloud over that victory.
I never though highly of Pryor expect that he used some substance to help him win and there was no investagation to it.
When there is alot of money invovle Pro sport will alway have corruption into it not only boxing. There is so much to lose into it.
I even wont be suprised if other boxers like Mayweather, Pac, Cotto....etc use steriods or cheat.
expect Aaron Pryor was caught doing it and have some doubt over his win over Alexis Arguello
well he get millions for a fight and caught cheating.
If he didnt fight Mosely near fight night it will make him look as a cheater and quiter but at least his possiablity of maybe winning could happen.
Saying someone deserve respect because he ws caught cheated it absube and bais on you part.
Anyway there is no telling how many fights he cheated.
Roy has too much speed and too much power as well as his knowledge of boxing skill is abit unrrated as people assume. I like to hear some of his comment during the fight it sometimes more informative than some other fighters or coachs
what are the sore losers in this website.
He won a title, he wont call out every person at the night he just wont the title.
What you want Khan to call out Cotto, Floyd and Manny to fight one the same night next week?!?!?!
he won the title are respect to that because 99% of you even wont be close to getting a title shot or even seeing a belt you sore pathetic loser.
I respect every boxer here because I trained boxing for few month and know how hard to reach to the top.
Ok everybody...Don't give your honest opinions about Amir Khan and his performance because Eazy mas did some pad work at retro fitness for 2 weeks....Get a grip, commish...This is a boxing forum where people give there opinions and have topical boxing discussion...You don't like it...start your own Forum called....... Eazy Mas's... I trained boxing at Kim's Karate for a month so I know more then you.com
I see more of a hatin then giving out opinion.
He may be flaw but credit when it due everybody in this website believed he was going to lose is enough that he proved everybody wrong.
for people who doesnt know what it takes will drop a word pretty easy to degrade someone.
it weird but he not that cocky in this interview just put his opion
well as the interview goes he becomes more cocky :D
as faking an injury is dumb thing to say because it boxing not tennis. Sometimes in sparring you fight hard and get injuried it normal thing and it happens to alot of fighters.
I going with Pac win. Pac is a quick starter and better stamina is bad combination for Cotto. If Cotto cant finish Pac off quickly and use his size then Pac is probably going to beat him more as the fight progress
If he doesnt fight for money why did Arum have to top up Manny's purse to make the Hatton fight?
Why does Manny want a 65-35 purse against Cotto?
Why has team Pacquiao been going to the press saying for Mayweather-Manny to happen Floyd has to take 40%?
Basically Manny is a prizefighter and fights for money
people are making it as if every pro fighter is fighting for glory.
98% of them fight for the money if the money is low they would have gone to another career path.
at the end of the day I want to maximize my income in any possiable way which is the same for every fighter including Floyd, Mayweather, Mosely...etc just name it.
The only fighter I think who fight just for the heck of fighting was G-Man and end up pennyless and paralyzed and it a good lesson for every boxer out there. Now he stays in the care of his sister in a small little house and may get some donation from fans or people.
Great Interview
He said Manny is a quick starter
He thinks Cotto lost against Clottey and Cotto hasnt been the same after the Margarito fight mentally.
Manny is a quickstarter and if he had to choose between Manny and Cotto,it's Manny who wins but anything can happen in the sport of boxing.Manny has th worst deal in boxing, gets 27% .
it weird but he not that cocky in this interview just put his opion
Pac doesn't fight for money alone incase you haven't noticed. He gets more than enough from his various business ventures in the phillipines.
well everybody fight for money.
it human nature he wants more money. and he going in philipines more money to get into election again
Naz had a personality problem and bad managment around him.
Naz at the end of his career he train less and less every fight and only depended on his talent. Even in the Barrera fight he was not training to his full potential. But that what you get if you slack off.
Naz also depended on his relfex and speed which kinda went down after every fight.
anyway this isnt a Nassem Hamed vs Johnny Tapia thread but it more of a tribute to one of boxing most exicting fighter and remeber him.
I rarely seen a thread talking about Tapia or even mentioning him so it good just to hear what people think about him from time to time.
Also I just new to boxing and Tapia prime was in the late 90s. So this is another reason I wanted to know more about him as an opion from other people.
Probably, but that's what happens when a fighter's personal life overshadows what he does or did in the ring. Tapia was a very good boxer in his prime.
also charismatic and he is very playful and relaxed in the ring.
i wanted to see this match for long time.
Ayala was really something back in his days.
Ayala and Tapia hated each other to the guts and there style is intersting.
will the motive is to get free publicty
look at how much attention he got and how many thread are made about this topic.
He want to increase PPV of JMM vs Floyd similar way Hopkins does when he threw Puerto Rican flag against Tito other fights do to get attention.
the more publicty he gets the better for him.
It's another big payday, and definitely an easy payday! Floyd should be fighting fully fledged welterweights. Not an ex featherweight who has made a name for himself from his damaged goods. It is a win win situation for little Manny if you ask me, who'll just get more adulation no matter what happens because he took on all comers
would you wanna fight someone for alot of money?
hes tough and keeps going-thats the only reason he has a chance at beating everyone
he has the least boxing skill of the six by a long way-everyone knows that
sometimes it depends on how the fight goes on. For a boxer to move around and just box is easy word for many people but it hard when you get in the ring.
Everybody have a chance and never underestimate anyone. Froch first fight is against Andre Dirrell his KOs is more than Dirrell whole fight.
Experince plays a rould and Dirrell and Ward are the weakest link due to experince but as far at it goes dont count anyone out.
no-one will be laughing at me dont worry
if you think he can go the whole tourney undefeated then i want some of wot ur smoking
I think JT and Kessler have less pressure than other contender because they been defeated before.
Froch, AA , Ward and Dirrell have the pressure of keeping the O. So Ward and Dirrell will be more catious due to there style and I think they came into the competition to gain experence for them.
AA is not as good a people think he is. He cover himselfs and then throw flurries for couple of sec then cover himself. So if someone is an fighting from outside could easily beat him and even KO him. Kessler is his worst nightmare match because Kessler is fights outside and could through powershots from outside.
I expecting JT to win AA. JT jab is abit underrated and need abit of polishing but he has hell of a reach and is stiff.
Other than boxing training I think JT should hire a good personal trainer for him to have stamina and endurance during the fight.
A good personal trainer will help him put extra effort as well as inspire him to work harder.
you could make out any fighter resume and make it look bad or good.
Ruelas vs DHL was more of a rival thing because they came from the same hood in Cali. For people who dont know boxing of the 90s wont know Ruelas. He is not super or best but he was an okay.
