Two of the best boxers of the 90s. Roy win against Bernard in 1994 in a fight that i think Bernard have a litle advantage because Roy have probles with the weight.
But then Hopkins win against Tito, Oscar and have better resume than Jones.
In your opinion who is the best
Actually at this point... Hopkins doesnt need a rematch with Roy... unless all he wants is a money fight, and for that to happen... Roy needs to make himself a viable opponent by beating someone legit.
yes bernard need to be the P4P king
Hopkins bitched about Roy not wanting to fight him, but Roy said he was too big for him and wasn't willing nor able to go down in weight to meet him. Hopkins was the bitch because HE wasn't willing to accomodate Jones in that. He wasn't willing to go up in weight and was scared of getting owned by Jones, who was still at his best then. I believe this was in 2002 or 2001. I've seen it on youtube. Shithop was provoking Roy and mocking him infront of Larry Merchant, but Roy set him straight.
you are right
Sorry, I like it too much!:D
Bernard and Roy are about 3 spots away from eachother on the ATG list... so if Bernard is shit, then Roy isnt too great himself.
if roy want 60/40 and bernard go up to LH is ok. roy dont need a remach with Hopkins. Hopkins need a remach with Roy

And i haven't watched the fight in quite some time, but wasn't James Toney getting his ass handed to him by Michael Nunn til the KO?
Wasn't Zab Judah beating everyone after 4 rounds until he gassed out?
Roy, but I do think it's close ish.
People get sucked in by special unique talent.
It overwhelms one into thinking they're un touchable.
They're not. A prime Hopkins did some things technically better, which would trouble Roy, though he'd rightfully be under dog.
I am though, a tad surprised at some saying Hopkins faced MUCH tougher opponents. I mean, Hopkins MW reign he didn't by a huge extent imo, and many say his MW streak was not dissimilar to Calzaghes SMW streak.
Anyways, Roy would be too quick prime for prime, but it wouldn't be a walk in the park at all.
Roy was better in his prime.
Hopkins is a great fighter though and i feel that a prime for prime matchup between the two would be alot closer than what most people here believe.
Some posters around here make out Roy to be unbeatable when that isn't true, Hopkins would of caused him trouble.
RJJ made a career out of fighting nobody. Bernard made a career out of fighting ugly and barely winning (and losing for that matter). Skill wise and ring smarts, Bernard was better. RJJ was a better athlete who IMO could have been MUCH better if he wasn't such an ego-maniac.
Rjj better prime 4 prime, but overall bhop is the better fighter.
Maybe the better boxer, that doesnt make him the better fighter prime for prime though
