Andre Ward did receive a little bit help from the ref, but overall he just beat up on kessler.
Agreed.
I do think Ward should have been warned for leading with his head and possibly holding too.
If Froch had been the only one using cheap tactics against Dirrell I would have been pissed. That was different though cause Dirrell was holding too.
I honestly don't think Cotto is that hard of a puncher. Look at what he did against Margarito (Cotto landed a LOT of punches) compared to how Mosley KO'd Margarito. Shane is a hard puncher, but he's no George Foreman, and he obviously did a lot more damage to Margs than Cotto.
Roughing Kessler up is his only chance IMO. He sure as hell can't use the same style as Ward (movement, quick jab, fast hands, etc) because he doesn't have the boxing skill.
Kessler will have a tough time putting Froch away though.
Okay people are exaggerating when they say it will take ''Years to notice a difference''. If somebody has been consistently boxing for 6 months and they go against somebody with no ring experience what so ever there will be a notable difference.
That being said 2 months of irregular training and a lay off period of 5 months means you're in the same boat as your friend pretty much.
I agree with both statements. I would love to see the video of these two throwing haymakers and sucking wind after 2 minutes.
Staying relaxed is the most important thing I learned from sparring, but you can't just say "OK, I have to stay relaxed." You'll need to practice it.

Involved parties aren't supposed to talk, but apparently haven't reached a deal as of yet.
This is an interesting point... It'd be terrible if the fight went down and ended in a robbery of some sort.
Or an endlessly debated close decision a la Hagler/Leonard.
right now Froch is super confident and knows how to overcome the gap skill and make his will prevail. Froch would beat Calzaghe due to his superior will power. Calzaghe is a very satisfied man.
This is what people said about Lacy. The fact is that Calzaghe would UD most boxers today. I can't stand him, but its true. I suppose if he has actually slowed down to get caught more than once, he could be KO'd, but I definitely don't see Froch doing it.
if calzaghe came back to fight froch, it would be the 1st time i ever root for him
Agreed. I can't stand Calz, but I think he would destroy Froch, and I'd root for him to do so.
No way Hatton fights either guy again. They both smashed him.
The only thing I see left for Hatton is getting outboxed by Marquez in a good fight, or cashing in by fighing Oscar if they could figure out the weight. That would be a huge fight (would have to be in England).
I'd have to say Tyson would sell more since he hasn't been on any boxing games for a while, plus the younger (video game) playing generation is probably bigger into Tyson.
How about Mosley V Williams? You know Williams will take the fight. They both beat Margo so they seem like top welterweights to me (if you consider PWill a ww still, which he says he can be). I'd love to see it.
"irish thunder" the book about micky ward is great... whatever happened to them making that book into a movie? brad pitt and marky mark were supposed to be in it?? mickys brother dickie eklund was a freaking NUT!
On the Pac/DLH 24/7 Wahlberg said he has in a ring in his basement because he is training to do the Micky Ward film. When I saw this I assumed it is still in the works. I hope so...
I would love to see this fight. You know Williams will start calling for it. Shane isn't one to back down. I'm afraid Shane will push for a Cotto rematch though.
I'd hate to throw such a heavy allegation out there, but I was wondering the same thing. You couldn't hear what Barrera was saying, so its tough to know. When they looked at the cut in the 3rd he was pawing at his eye which I thought was saying he was having trouble seeing, but who knows.
IMO Hopkins is the fight he should go for (at a catch weight if not 168, Carl's not interested in 175), if he cant fight Joe then at least fight Hopkins and do what Joe didnt even come close to doing....knock him out.
That'll set tongues wagging
lol at Froch KO'ing Hopkins. If Pavlik could barely land a clean shot, what makes you think Froch could? Either way Hopkins won't get a chance to fight Froch though because Taylor will take care of him.
I wonder who the final opponent will be. Mr Dream? Lol. This game is nothing without Tyson. I will say Mike Tyson's Punch Out is still possibly my favorite game of all time.
This thread needs to be renamed "Name any fighter and guess how big his dick is".
I thought this was an interesting thread, but it took a turn for the worse right away.
This is just a thread to say Marg has a good chin/stamina/punch output. His chin wasn't exactly superb against Mosley, nor was his punch output. His stamina usually is good. I don't see the point of this thread though.
I know why he met with the KKK, but he criticized Frazier for having dealings with white people, when met with the KKK, it seems there is one rule for ali and another for fraizer.
Im not sure he truly believe Frazier was a tom, if so then why after the 3rd fight (i think) did he sent someone to apologize to Joe and said it was to promote the fight. Frazier would not accept the apology cos Ali wasnt man enough to say it to his face.
The media portray Ali as a hero.
But if you not only look at the things he said to Frazier but the way he hounded him in the run up to the fight.
I think its clear Ali was a weak, impressionable man, who was scared of Frazier and did whatever he could to gain an
advantage.
He was in a position of huge responsibility, people idolized him, and he abused that position greatly.
Ali certainly was vicious towards Frazier, but it seems like you're judging him based almost solely around Ali/Frazier III.
What else do you know about him? Ever read any of his biographies? Everything I've read or seen said he'd give anything to his fans. How many fighters do you know as popular as him that have open training camps when anyone can come at any time?
He might be glorified by the media now, but there was a time when he was represented terribly in the media. Some of that was correct because of his actions (relating to the NOI), but he was mistreated in so many ways. He was stripped of his titles and unable to fight for 3 years for being a conscientious objector!
I disagree with judging Ali based around this one fight. He went too far in bashing Frazier, but he saw it as fight promotion (at least by the third fight).
Mayweather.
Winky's defense is boring and possibly overrated to me. He rarely gets hit flush, but who wants to watch him block 500 punches per fight with his forearms?
I also think Floyd's is more effective because he makes people miss completely, which everyone knows takes a lot out of the other fighter.
I really like the highlight against Oscar at 1:13. He rolls and counters 2 rights from Oscar and on the second one he lands a great right hand in return. That clip to me is classic Mayweather. Lampley and Steward didn't notice it at the time.
