Golota did NOT beat Byrd
And he won´t beat Brewster. Brewster is a bigger puncher then either Byrd or RUiz and Golota folds against the punchers. And that was when he was a talented fighter in the mid-late 90s. I thought he looked pretty bad vs Ruiz . . .no jab, slow, he faded really bad late . . .Brewster will win this by sheer youth, power, and durability
Roman greenburg has fought no'one . . .it doesnt matter if hes fighting guys with winning records . . .Charles Shufford, Jeremy Williams, and Diaz were all guys with world class experience hence Peter is ranked higher.
We talk about Tyson, Bowe, etc. b'c they have proven themselves already as top fighters. even if now they are fighting bums.
Who said Lewis was out of shape vs McCall? That´s pure BS'he was 235 which was lighter then he ever was afterwards . . . just look at the film.
Fool me once shame on me
Fool me twice shame on you.
Lewis has no excuse for getting starched twice by two fringe contenders. Other champs vame into fights overweights as Lewis did vs Rahman (and he was only about 5 lbs overweight anyway) and not get blown away. Lewis also arguably should have lost decisions to Holyfield in the 2nd fight and to Mercer, or at least recieved a draw.
Lewis was great for his time but his opponents were generally a weak crop and the best guys he fought were way past their best when he fought them. Lennox, also a big guy who showed stamina problems numerous times, never had to go 15 rounds.
Not close to being the best ever . .
Rahman is getting very overrated. He's neither highly skilled or ever in top condition. He's too slow and methodical in the ring. I think Klitschko beats him in an easy fight.
Carnera is def. not the worst of that list. And Ruiz better then Thomas, Tubbs, Braddock etc.?????? Thomas and Tubbs would've pasted Ruiz all over the ring ten times over, and Carnera would've mauled him . .Primo was much stronger and better wrestler then Ruiz!!!
Besides Holyfield (who clearly beat Ruiz in their rubber match), RUiz hasn't beaten ANY hall of famers you fool.
Stop spamming the board you know you're full of it.
saying blacks are naturally more athletic and have better chins is the biggest load of crap I've ever heard. Breathe easier due to bigger nostrils? Where did you pull that out of your ass . . . .?? It's like Im reading some turn of the century British anthropologist . . .
Toney is hilarious. Anyone who doesn´t get that his talk is 80% all part of an act to garner interest and laughs needs to go get laid . . . he has ten times as much charisma as the other top HWs. He may not be the best HW but he´s one of the few HWs I actually pull for in a fight b-c his fighting style and his persona are pure entertainment. Enjoy him while he´s still around.
Valuev is a disgrace fighting the likes of a shot, chinless fighter like Ettiene for his 41st fight. He´s the definition of a protected prospect waiting for a big payday. Watch Klitschko fight him after he beats Rahman.
Castillo is a blown up light HW who started his career at WELTERWEIGHT! He has some skills but no punch (he hit the soft chinned Moorer flush many times and Michael wasn´t even seriously hurt). He´s a carefully picked confidence builder for Wlad. Klitschko KO 5.
Haha, the ¨where did I park my car¨ comment is hilarious! McCline is def. an odd looking guy. In addition, Brock does look like some gay 70s porn star. Talk about an unintimidating couple of Heavyweights.
The other 4 look ready to fight . . .
Byrd has fought both Klitschkos, Golota, Ibebabuchi, Tua etc. and is now a coward? He was the champ and being dictated the terms. He had every right to refuse. Byrd is an American champ, and Wlad is only a draw in Germany, as he´s embarassed himself the last 3 times he was on American television.
How bout you face all of the guys Byrd has fought and then call him a coward huh?
Byrd-Wlad was never gonna be in the States. You´re gonna believe something b-c Shelly Finkel says its true?
Lyahkhovich is a good boxer and a good body puncher. His chin is only so-so though and he leaves himself open a lot. If he can avoid Wlad´s big shots for the first 3-4 rounds he can win with good body punching and combinations.
I dont think Rahman was afraid . . he was just trying to get King to fork over some more money. King called his bluff and simply canned him. Thats how business goes sometimes. Rahman has always been a horrible businessman. He could have made MILLIONS fighting for HBO with Kushner and a Tyson fight but instead he gets cash under the table, signs with King, fights Lewis again, and gets obliterated.
Barrett has a VERY slim chance to win. He has little power, and while a solid boxer is nothing special. It should be a better fight then the Williams debacle, as Barrett at least always comes in top shape. Fighting someone in fighting condition will be a new experience for Vitali as of his last 4-5 fights, and if it goes past the 5th round with Barrett still fresh and not badly hurt, it COULD get interesting . .
Styles make fights.
So does your mental mindset.
If Mike didnt think he would beat Foreman, he would never do it in the ring
Foreman would have beaten Mike anytime from 90-94. After Foreman won the title he stopped taking boxing seriously, but hey Tyson stopped taking boxing seriously after the 2nd Holyfield fight, so maybe George couldve beaten him later as well . ..
fastest hands in the HW division? Byrd and Toney may not hit as hard as Wlad but they certainly have greater handspeed, as does others like Kirk Johnson (ok, not the fatass who fought Klit but watch his other fights), Maurice Harris, and even Audley Harrison when the guy actually extends himself.
Wlad does have very fast hands for a guy his size, as well as great punching power. But his stamina when he´s fighting a guy who fights back is awful, his chin is pretty poor, and since Sanders his confidence has gone the way of the dinosaurs. I thought he looked terrible against Williamson. Could he win a title in this division? Sure . . .John Ruiz holds a title, doesnt he? But with his chin he wont hold it for long if he ever gets one. Ruiz-Klitschko would be entertaining. I´d tip Ruiz to KO him but Klitschko could pull a knockout himself. Very interesting fight. It would be fun to watch but it´ll never happen.
Toney in an easy win. Rahman has no counter punching ability, is slow, and has poor stamina. Look at how Ruiz dominated him. Toney would have an even easier time, and possibly TKO Hasim if Toney came in shape.
However, this fight is prob. not happening. Rahman has to fight Barrett in the summer, and IF he wins that, he´s going to lose to Klitschko after that . . .

Too bad Vitali is approaching 34 and Wlad been exposed 3 times already as someone who panics vs punchers (let alone has a weak chin).
Im not sure if Jefferson is still fighting . . Nicholson is completly shot and may be semi-retired now as well, and as bad as Martinez is he´s still better then Moli . . .
I can understand a stay busy fight for Sam and that prob. a lot of guys don´t want to risk themselves against a puncher like Peter but they´re still guys better then Martinez . . how bout Sedrick Fields? Or one of those Cuban Castillo brothers?
Wlad has a bad chin. Sanders caught other guys with his big left (notably Hasim Rahman with several BIG lefts and Rahman will never be mistaken for George Chuvalo in the chin department) who didnt go down or flair around the ring like Wlad did. Also, before the 5th round, Brewster caught Wlad with a left hand in the 3rd round and Wlad was wobbling all over the place. Before the Sanders loss, Wlad didnt get hit with big punches b-c A) Universum didnt put him in with big punchers unless they were completly shot (Mercer) or had were unskilled glass chinners (Jefferson)
B) His opponents were so intimidated by his size and jab that they fought out of a shell the whole fight (McCline)
The what if argument is silly . . . what if pigs flied?
How can you say Moli is better then Martiniez? Gilbert has at least managed to beat an old Tony Tubbs and draw with Ettiene . . Moli hasn´t even fought a name HW besides Wlad. . . no one had heard of this guy before Klitschko found him!
Just watch the fight sometime. Comparing the Louis in that fight to the Louis who won the title . . . . it just is sad. He makes the Tyson who fought Williams look 25 years old . . .
Don't see a 'dominant' force out there but my pick of the best HW prospect currently is Ruslan Chagaev. The guy can punch and has good handspeed and overall skills, although he's a little one-dimensional. If Beck beats Barrett convicingly he'll be someone to watch as well.
Foreman fought a very stupid fight forgetting his best weapon the jab and basically looking the worst he had ever looked up to that point. Ali deserves credit for sticking in there and fighting a very smart fight and taking some wicked body punches, but the laxness of the ropes and Ali's tactic of pulling George's head-down continually was deplorable, and kind of taints the win in my opinion.
In 1976 I'd favor Foreman to avenge the loss. Prime for prime I think Ali beats him though . . . .
