Lamon Brewster (WBO) will be meeting Andrew Golota on May 21 at the United Center in Chicago. Brewster retained his belt with an uninspired, disputed split decision over Kali Meehan last September.
What do you think will be the outcome of this bout?
golota easily, i mean this guy had a close fight wich he should of have lost against kali meehan. you can make a case golota won his last two fights against, ruiz and byrd, it where close fights. anyway i pick golota. no doubt.
Typically, Golota's problem have been mentally. He's gets intimidated kinda easily. Brewster, on the other hand, will stand up to any amount of punishment and try to win. The problem is he doesn't let his hands go. Golota's not gonna be intimidated by a guy who had so much trouble with Kali Meehan, and is gonna stay on him, outwork him in every round and take a decision.
If Golota wins the WBO belt and Klitschko retains the WBC belt over Rahman, then the long awaited matchup between these two NEEDS to happen. That fight will generate plenty of publicity and I think it would do very well on PPV. I still think Golota will give Klitschko a shitload of problems in the ring.
Fighting either klitschko or Rahman will probably be the defining fights of his carreer. If he managed to pull those fights.... Then we have a heavyweight division. It's along shot but it can happen.
1. Golota has no problems with law in Poland. The old case is finished. Now he still has some minor charges for punching some drunk asshole in front of a hotel, but that's nothing serious. He comes to Poland and leaves whenever he wants.
2. Talking about his training and shape, everyone who had ever watched Golota before knows that vs Byrd and Ruiz he was very well prepared. And he 'won' those fights. He injured his left arm in the 6th round vs Byrd. Rounds 7-12 he fought practically one handed, that's why Byrd managed til the end.
3. Someone said Bowe should have been 240lbs and knocked out Golota within 2 rounds... LOL, that made me laugh... How about the rematch, when 'slim' Bowe got the worst beatdown in his life?
4. You want Golota and Brewster out of HW division (to the one talking shit about missile hitting the place)? And who's gonna be fighting for the title? Meehan vs Donald? Yeah, that would be awesome...
Andrew should beat Brewster and then fight Klitschko/Rahman. If not, rematch vs Ruiz or Byrd, finally beat the shit out of any of those 2. Then he can retire.
I think both Bowe fights he got frustrated that he hit Bowe with everything and Bowe did not stay down so he low blowed his way to a DQ. The fight vs Lewis I felt he was going to knock Lewis out but the musle relaxer that the asshole Dr. wrongly injected him with fucked him up way before the fight and you saw him on cloud nine while he was walking to the ring. This fight was lost before it even started. The Michael Grant fight was the most puzzling one of them all. He had Grant beat on all three judges score cards and his corner told him that he was losing the fight entering into the 10th round. He got knocked down and just quit like a motherfucking pussy? All he needed to do was dance around for two more rounds and avoid being knocked down again and he wins at least a split decision. Against Tyson, I think he was totally out of shape, did not care and his fear of Tyson hitting him overcame him and he just left before thngs got worse.
The fight with Michael Grant heading into the 10th round, Golota was winning the fight 86-81, 87-80, 85-83 on the three judges scorecards. Which means that if Golota did not quit and got out of the 10th round the scorecards heading into the 11th round would have read 94-91, 95-90, 93-93. All he needed to do was box cautiously the next two rounds without getting knocked down again and even if he lost the 11th and the 12th the fight would have ended up 112-111 for Golota, 113-110 for Golota and 111-113 for Grant which would have given Golota a split decision. That to me was the most shocking outcome of his quitting against Grant.

If Golata almost beat Ruiz and Byrd(actually he probably should have)then he should have no problem with Brewster.
Golota... what is he gonna do, beat Brewster with his walker... no one should be boxing when they're past 35, except for Bernard Hopkins.
Unless your a better boxer than the those that are under 35. There has been a shift in recent decades towards the over 30 fighter.
uhhhhh beer at $4 a pop? that's 1/2 the price of what a beer costs at Arco Arena for Kings games and on fight night.....be happy with a $4 charge bro, you got it gooooood!
Beer was 7 bucks for a 16 oz. and 10 bucks for a 32 oz. at Spinks/Judah, another King event. I don't know if the promoter, the arena, or the catering company sets the price, but I'm guessing 4 bucks won't even get you a hot dog...
I'm going to order floor seats, but not ringside. I'm like the guy that won't buy a new car, but I'll get one with like 8,000 miles on it and call it new but getting a discounted price...
If the fight is at the United Center maybe I will buy a ticket, a cheap one. Sit in the way back where you cant see anything and get drunk, watch the fight on the jumbotron, but I wont pay anything over like 50$, and beer better not be 4$ a cup.

He is not currently on Roids and his physique has looked solid the last two fights he has been in.
If you continue to work-out, then muscle-mass won't decrease by avoiding the roids, but the pimples are gone so he's obviously put the needle down...
I wonder if this is a PPV or a regular broadcast.
Box Rec lists 3 undercards to go with it, all with big boxing names, much more name recognition than King's Spinks-Judah card...
Light Heavyweight Paul Briggs V Tomasz Adamek
Vacant WBC Light Heavyweight Title
Heavyweight Lamon Brewster V Andrew Golota
WBO Heavyweight Title
Light Middleweight Ricardo Mayorga V Alejandro Garcia
WBC Light Middleweight Eliminatory
Heavyweight Fres Oquendo V Michael Moorer
WBC Continental Americas Heavyweight Title
Tickets go on sale tomorrow at 1 PM CT - I think I'm going to buy a pair - anyone else thinking of going?
Yeah those roid pimples really stood out in his fights. They were blaring out at you in the Lewis fight, but obviously his roid use did not do him any good.
The roid rage definitely hurt Golota vs. Lewis and Tyson, but that rage lead to his elite status following the 2 Bowe fights, so it was a bigger plus than a minus in the long run....Golota shoulda been on Capitol Hill yesterday w/ Canseco :)
