i think he could be the best ever, his first lost against mccall was because he understimated maccall and was bad trained, but did beated mccall rematch.
and his second lost against rahman was same, he though he had rahman hurt and rahman hit a lucky right :(, and a draw against holyfield was not right, he beated holyfield in that fight
just look at holyfields face after the fight, i think lennox lewis long jab and his power would destroy all(even ali) if he want to.
Lennox was a smart boxer, He got careless once and got caught by Rahman.
But other than I have always seen Lennox Lewis as a very Intelligent Fighter, Sturmrules Why not way you beleive felix sturm is so high why not Lennox, Lennox is just a beast.
Lewis knocked down twice,All was not.
Ali was knocked down by:
Wepner
Frazier
Cooper
Banks

Who said Lewis was out of shape vs McCall? That´s pure BS'he was 235 which was lighter then he ever was afterwards . . . just look at the film.
Fool me one shame on you
Fool me twice shame on you.
Lewis has no excuse for getting starched twice by two fringe contenders. Other champs vame into fights overweights as Lewis did vs Rahman (and he was only about 5 lbs overweight anyway) and not get blown away. Lewis also arguably should have lost decisions to Holyfield in the 2nd fight and to Mercer, or at least recieved a draw.
Lewis was great for his time but his opponents were generally a weak crop and the best guys he fought were way past their best when he fought them. Lennox, also a big guy who showed stamina problems numerous times, never had to go 15 rounds.
Not close to being the best ever . .
And the truth shall set you free. Lewis was nice but he shouldnt be ranked any higher than 7 on an all-time list. I also think Foreman, Louis, Holmes, and Ali all beat him with Holmes giving the most convincing performance.

run lennox is good but to dominate a prime Ali no fucking way
Ali IMO, never faced as big, or versatile a puncher.
or "boxer-puncher" like Lewis.
Hence how boxing journalists dubbed him: "a bigger, stronger, faster, Riddick Bowe".
That spells: N.O.T. G.O.O.D. for Muhammed.

nah lennox lewis would beat ALi.
I think so too. He would be way too big for Ali. Henry Cooper supposedly gave Ali some trouble, And I see Lewis as hitting harder, and having better intelligence in the ring. I think Lewis would win a lopsided decision over Prime ali, or even knock him out.
Ali never faced an opponent as dangerous as Lennox. Foreman was a walk in the park in comparison, a large slow plodder.
Lewis was big, fast, and skilled. Something we will never see again as heavyweight boxing fans. I gauruntee.
The general conscensus would be; that Ali would use the "rope a dope". That is ridiculous, because Lewis would tap Ali's gloves with a jab....untill he showed his face...then nail him with an overhead right sending Ali into the press row.

i partially agree, they are to big for most of the good old timers to handle.
However could frazier do it than rocky can too.
LL and Vk would never be able to keep his pace for the entire fight.
they wont need to when the ref stops the fight after they go down a few times. and liek in the danny willimas fight klitschko will beat u up for 12 rounds cause u cant even land 100 punches

as the number 1 lennox lewis hater i will grant u guys this, if lennox lewis had heart he woulda went undefeated, when he was young he got cought by a pucnh for the first time and couldnt recover, and agasint rahman he was being an ass and got KO'd, lewis could always protect his chin well and if he had trained and been focus better he coulda been so much more
now about how lewis fairs against other greats
dont get me wrong here guys but klitschko and lewis would destroy any great heavyweight pre liston era, there r just to tall and to heavy and can easly fend these smaller guys off im srry but its hard to see a 5'11 188 pounbd rocky beating up a 6'5 6'7 250+ guy, and boxing now is more "skilled" per say as in defence and how u work, back then it was sloppy. they only real heavyweight i can see even beating prime on prime vs klitscko and lewis r Ali/foreman/fraizer/ everyone else i can not see getting through and beating lewis and klitschko there jabs r just to good for those smaller guys to handle, no matter how much heart and determination they had that doesnt always win fights
(just my opnion)
Your giving LL to much cred, he was koed by rahman and mccall and outboxed by vk and than retired instead of rematching him like he should and he would have had he not been such a coward.
Ali had way better competition and he also had a way better chin.
Ali was smarter in the ring than Lewis. He'd find a way to beat him. Lewis was good, but not good enough to beat Ali.
Ali was smarter in the ring than just about anybody, but ring smarts is only about half the battle. His laziness that started fairly early in his career (early 30's) would've most likely given the win to Lewis, or even Klitchko, both of whom have a fair amount of ring smarts themselves, and both are very accurate punchers. I liked Ali, for his phenomenal natural ability and talent, and his aforementioned smarts in the ring, but I hated his mouth, and his lack of conditioning.....failure to step into the ring in other than peak shape is a slap in the face to the fans who pay to see you fight...NO exceptions.
I think Lewis is the one of best heavyweights these days.
But he unfortunately didn't fight real rivals.
like All's,Foreman,Norton,Fraizer and so on.
And Lewis knocked down twice,All was not.So it's hard to say Lewis is greatest.
You cant say that when he didnt fight a prime Holyfield, Tyson, or Bowe
ok, when was tyson, holyfield and bowe´s prime?
i guess tyson´s prime was when he ko trevor berbick, for many reason his fast headmovement, he was hungry and powerful

Lewis couldn't put away an older untrained Holyfield. I think he lost to an even older Holyfield in their second match. Holyfield isn't even top five all time so how the hell could Lewis be?
