Depends on who you lose to and the manner of the loss.
It can even help you. For instance, Danny Jacobs undoubtedly increased his p4p status with his performance against GGG despite losing.
Lampley is good in a way. But he can be very biased in his calling of a fight, usually because he has a preconcieved idea of how a fight is gonna go. Better than Mauro.
Max and Al is about even. Both below average.
Paulie is better than Roy. But they're both very good.
So much b1tch assness going on inboxing today.
Morales used to make his opponents wear Winning gloves and I doubt any of us would call him a b1tch. This is nothing new and not a big deal.
Charley Burley, Armstrong, but who cares, what you stated doesn't even compare to these guys.
Thats not even true on FLoyds case. So call boxing fans forget that Floyd keeps in shape year round, he's not going to bloat up the rest of the guys.
And he couldn't get his weight down Marquez at 146, yet he ususally comes in weighing in at 152, so what does that tell you?
he's a natural 147 lbs, same as Maidana, but unlike FLoyd, Maidana lets himself go between fights, cuts down quick. So on fight night he's going to come in a little heavier as his body retains more water.
You're acting like he always clinches excessively. Maidana II is the only fight in recent memory i can think of where there was legitimately excessive clinching.
Nope. Danny/Paulie is too close to September 12th. It will be Khan. Book it. If it weren't Khan he would've mentioned him as a potential opponent for Spence on his undercard.
70 is really not unheard of, but i agree it was excessive in Maidana II. There were 14-18 clinches in the May-Pac (not all instigated by Floyd - some coincidental) bout which is below average for a 12 rounder. I really don't know what people are seeing when they complain about excessive clinching in that fight.
Alexander 'hugged' Maidana 100 times in a 10 rounder. I believe Wlad clinched Povetkin close to 200 times. Now that is excessive.
is there even a maidana like fighter right now? we got brooks, porter, and khan and none of these fighters are big draws in the U.S
Brook*. A Khan fight would probably be the biggest of the options...i suspect that is who he'll fight
Could be. I believe in tangent universes / different timelines so I'm not going to discard it.
One of my favorite nights a boxing fan... Floyds 3rd loss and the most devastating (Castillo and DLH didn't come close to messing up floyd like this):

The tooth thing happened in Maidana II, which Floyd dominated, NOT Maidana I. Do people at least watch fights you comment on?
About as good as Amir Khan with an Iron chin and the ability to cope with pressure...
Broner is what he is. He simply can't fight in the manner you're talking about.
What I find ironic is a UFC featherweight talking about who would win a "real fight". Based on that logic why watch anything but Heavyweight MMA? If all that matters is who would win a real fight?
Anyways, Mayweather at boxing >>>> Mcgregor at MMA. MMA is a joke. Floyd would utterly embarrass this dude in a boxing ring. He might not land a punch. Heck, Berto and Mayfield would embarass him in a boxing ring.
You know what I like about Senior and Roger, they just say whatever the **** they want. They dont give a **** that Khan and Broner are Haymond fighters or that Mayweather Jr is trying to mentor/build up Broner or that Junior is trying to be nice to Pac and Roach now.
Yeah its usually stupid **** they have to say, but most of the time its hilarious. I love the contrast in statements, Junior will say some political **** like "broner didnt look good and has a lot to work on" or something to that effect while Senior will say "Broner dont know **** about boxing, hes a bum" and he doesnt want Khan to get the floyd fight "because hes a ***"
LOL so true.
What does that mean, have to fight? It is a fight isn't it? What's the other option?
Oh, the option of hugging, headlocking, pushing the head, "spoiling" and running.
I counted 14 clinches in the May-Pac fight. In fights with truly excessive clinching there are over a 100. Like for instance Alexander-Maidana (10-rounder) there were 119.
