You guys like to talk about "earning a shot" but what did Margarito do exactly to earn a title shot against Cotto? Margarito's career after beating Cotto in 2008 : -Got demolished by Mosley -Got suspended for a year -Beat a B level guy in Mexico -Got an undeserved title shot against Pacquiao and got demolished again How is this guy deserving of an immediate shot at Cotto's belt? This question doesn't really require a answer. This fight has nothing to do with a title shot. One would think that was painfully clear.

Watch the DLH fight. That is how you beat him, but you don't get tired in the 2nd half of the fight.

I was very dissapointed in the biased commentary of the HBO crew. Just disgusted. They were seated so high up on Pac's bandwagon they couldn't see what was goin' on down in the trenches. They were constanly licking Pac's bung while JMM was landing punches. So many punches Marquez landed and were ignored by Lamps and co. in their frantic handjobbing of the Pacman. When Pac get's elected Pres of the Phillipines, look for them all (Lederman in particular) to get nice cabinet appointmaents in his administration. I certainly missed Larry Merchant and Roy Jones Jr last night. So do I. HBO were just trying to keep Arum and Pac happy. Larry would have called it much farer.

For me it was DLH vs. Tito. Sure Oscar, came back and won a lot of fights. But he seemed to change styles for every fight and wasn't as effective.

I agree that boxing will miss Cotto when he retires. Shame there aren't more guys like him at the moment.

No no not at all. Floyd will be taking part in the prison boxing tournament. HBO is trying to secure the TV deal now.

I am of the belief that there is no way MayPac meets expectations...and that in all likelyhood it will be more Tito-Oscar than Leonard-Hearns... I couldn't agree more. It would be a bit like Floyd vs. Oscar as well. No way that the Pac vs. Floyd fight would live up to the expectations.

I've been critical of Floyd over recent time, but I have not problem with him fighting Cotto at 154. As for the Pac vs. Bradley, I'm not that interested in it.

They should apply the OPEN SCORING system that the WBC implemented and is using all over the world except in the USA. I agree with this. I hate how the judges miss judge fights. Happens too much. At least with Open scoring they can't hide.

The Hype for DLH vs. Floyd was huge. The fight was announce in Nov/Dec 06 for a May fight. They Hype slowly built up over time. It was the first 24/7 series. which captured a lot of peoples imaginations. Oscar De La Hoya was a massive Draw. It was the first time a lot of non boxing fans were introduced to Floyd, he played the bad guy a lot of people wanted to see him get beaten.

Sorry but the Merch got the last laugh on that one. Mayweather knew what was coming next. I'm glade that people like Larry can see thru Mayweather. Larry used to give Floyd a lot of Props in his early years, it wasn't until Floyd started promising massacres in the ring and didn't deliver that Larry started questioning Floyd.
