Never heard of Espinosa, John. I did an Internet search; the only guy that came up was a 45 year old Cuban amateur. He was good. Maybe the Angel you're referring to is his son. Where did you see the kid fight? How old is he? It would be great if you could post those pics! Thanks!
I know a Cuban coach who said Angel was better than Teo and Felix...from 139 to 165 Angel dominated the world...he stopped several national US Champions at all weights including MELDRICK TAYLOR...he also beat Maske three times and Ottke, too...
So far so good....but, yeah, I actually should have put GAMBOA in here first before him. Hey, by the way, are you familiar with ANGEL ESPINOSA from Cuba? SPECTACULAR AMATEUR...unreal... I have some Cuban related pics u may like...Ill post them...

What do you think about Rigo so far, Ice?

What if it's a pro wrestling style "loser has to retire" fight? Would you support that?
Yes. If i was guaranteed that one would be gone as opposed to both sticking around, im in.
Especially if it was in a steel cage.
If they both promise to retire immediately after i change my stance.

Pac-floyd can die for all i care. Personally id like to see noth retire sooner rather than later.
Here are some fights id rather see
Ward-bute-dirrell
Gamboa-broner
Khan-bradley
Donaire-rigo
Mares-Moreno
Sergio v golovkin-pirog winner
Sergio v floyd at 154.
Manny and floyd are just milking fools for dough at this point, fightinghand picked jokes of opponents whle real fighters are winning tournaments and loooking to take fools out.
All these guys who are in here dying to see that fight have so much personally invested in the fight cuz they spend every day defending their guy and/or are just fans of that one fighter. That fight has lost all of its luster to me cuz of how both sides have acted.
Those two are not bigger than boxing. They're certainly not bringing in new fans with their recent fights and styles.
Im with you there Iceman, bring on Rigondeaux vs Donaire. I was thinking that as I watched the fight, "these guys will at least be able to negotiate and agree a deal and meet in the ring"
I think Donaire will Ice Rigondeaux with that vicious left he throws...the one Freddie Roach says is his only punch....but he still keeps shutting down world class operators with it every time lol
I'm not 100% sure of who would win between Donaire and Rigondeaux, but I am positive Floyd beats Pacquiao.
So yeah, Donaire vs Rigondeaux is a better matchup. But the bigger event and more meaningful fight is Mayweather vs Pacquiao because of all the credentials and accomplishments between them, and where they are rated as fighters in general as well as within their weight class.
put it this way, if satan and jesus were fighting for free on abc. i'd be paying 100 to still watch pac- may lol and i know it wont be a great fight but it will be floyd breaking down and stopping the imposter.
Is that a reference to "South Park"? lol
You guys are up this late talking boxing? I may as well join in! (I'm still riding high on that Giants victory over the Niners!)
Rigo isn't ready for Donaire, IMO. Who knows how long it'll take Guillermo to be ready? My guess is at least three fights. (I can't believe I'm even saying that when the guy has only nine pro fights under his belt!)
I think Gamboa is a little too much for Nonito at featherweight. Speed, athleticism and power is comparable. And, although Donaire is taller, Yuri is a brick-house at 126.
As for entertainment value, there seems to be little question: Gamboa-Donaire would be fireworks.

Terrible matchup (as far as action goes)...
Donaire and Rigondeaux are great counter punchers that have excellent speed and power, but neither want to lead or fight on the inside. Against each other it'd be a tense high speed feint off.
Pacquiao's leaky defense against Mayweather's precision... Mayweather's high guard defense (for southpaws) against Pacquiao's rapid fire combinations... The biggest, most anticipated fight in boxing... No question...

I just feel that there is NO WAY POSSIBLE Mayweather-Pacman can meet expectations...anything less than 8 rounds of Hagler-Hearns will be considered a let down after all this...I justfeel May is way too smart and good to make it a "great fight"...
Your right ! , I dont think it can be a great fight because Floyd will win easy .
my man focus and idea is to say there are OTHER FIGHTS out there in this game that are worthy and likely will be better to watch...also the fact is that Marquez took a lot of the shine off of this fight by performing as well as he did -again- in his last meeting with Pac...
Oh, that should be obvious to anyone who knows boxing.
