People forgetting Roy didn't get ko'd untill after he rematched Tarver. Didn't happen in his first fight after his heavyweight fight.
Fight with Ruiz, Roy 205
1st fight with Tarver at 175 = Roy won by MD (people thought Tarver won)
2nd fight with Tarver at 175 = Roy got ko'd
Roy finally fought a spirited fighter (it had been awhile) . A fighter that beat him in the amatures. Steroids could have played a role.
Well it looks like Helenius and Liakhovich may be fighting. Liakhovich Arreola could produce fireworks i think. Grant would be a decent stay busy fight tbh.
grant for his frame would be a good fight, if grant comes to fight, and i don't think they would have arreola fight him, even though arreola wouldn't care, i aggree on fighting the euros, but too much negotiation and not sure if arreolas team will allow him to go to europe and fight these guys,
Less weight = less punch resistance. He would be TOO small for Vitali/Wlad. Now if he was ripped at same weight or at 250? He is still pretty fat for a boxer.
How much is Chris getting paid for a fight like this? or how about the dude he fought? I couldnt see the journeyman making more than $5000 for a fight like this. Dont know how these guys do it, traveling across the country for very little money. Im sure this is a good pay day by his standards. Any insight how much they will make?
Warriors, i may talk **** but i couldn't do what releford did, talk balls and heart and getting hit hurts me thinks
The real question is. with this weight loss, would he do any better than he did before against either Klitschko?
if he fought for 12 rounds like he did before the knockdown of releford he'd have given a much better effort. and he needs more movement. but to answer your questrion, no. at least not on this night.
This bum has only been KO'd once in his life. But Chris Still needs to KO this dude or else it will be a fail fight.
Taking fights like this is all risk no reward. People can only not hate if you KO him in 1rnd
Anything else people will hate on. Imagine losing to a flunky hit or injury? Will be OMGZ he lost to a bum with 14 loses.
I wouldn't say that, its a stay busy fight. But kind of frustrating to see releford not attemp a full honest attack, and i know arreola is just better but at least go out guns blazing...he droped him good
I been yelling at the tube asking myself this question and now i'll ask it hear. Why the hell does Molina brawl when he doesn't have the power to bang? Why isn't he using his boxing skills, timing, angles, jab, distance? Why the hell did he start fast, when all he could have done was use the jab and control the first 3 rounds with it alone. Now he's a bit gassed and fighting flat footed and getting hit way too much for a fighter that has sooooo much potential. I am sorry but this guy could be a great boxer, if he had someone get him to use his boxing skills. He's shown he's got what it takes in terms of raw skills, he's very green fighting a style that is not very good for him at all!
They were saying earlier that Releford is a guy who often takes fights on late notice against contenders. He seems a better fighter than that 22-14 record of his. I wouldn't be surprised if he has been robbed a few times on his travels against green contenders. Or Maybe his durability is making me believe that....
i wonder if at one time he may have been a prospect he got the basics but no killer instict, no anger in him
Any time you an Olympic fighter you have been used to people kissing your ass for years telling how great you are :) Makes Olympic athletes fail sometimes. Look at Fraudley and the other Olympics who were so hyped up and started believing their own hype that they didnt think with their heads.
Not saying Molina gonna end up like this but they were saying he wants to be #1 P4P fighter on earth, lol!
Molina needs a lot of work. And i aggree with you 100 percent.
real talk, arreola just got the knockdown and guess what? arreola is reverting back to just following releford looking for a bomb to ko him. Stick to the improvement Areeola, this is what this fight is for. The guy needs to do wha he was doing in the 1st few rounds.
We don't see Todd Debuf try to steal Top Rank, like Shafer is trying to steal GBP. If Shafer is allowing Haymon to do business with GBP and Shafer is not securing fighters for the companey he works for than he isn't doing his job. Shafer has done a fair job its what he was brought in for, he's gotten his raise now he think he made GBP, haha.
Haymon is bad for boxing no way he can have the fighters best intereset with all the fighters he has been signing or keeping them busy.
Shafer should just leave GBP and start his own company. Delahoya built GBP to what it is today.
Funny how Max wouldn't dare say these things about Floyd, Hopkins, or Pac.
Max has always ****ted on Mex fighters in his days with espn, just like Teddy does when i used to be able to see espn fights on the regular.
People are remembering that Provackodav kicked Alvarados ass and you still are surprised that Marquez beat him. Ring the bells, Alvarado hasn't recovered from the beating he took from Provacativ its why he was choosen to be an opponet for Marquez, follow boxing, this happens all the time.
And many here are exaggerating how bad Marquez knocked down Alvarado.
How about mentioning how many times Marquez was hurt and how badly Alvarado knocked down Marquez.
The two things impressed me in the fight last night with Marquez 1# he has probably the most technical punchs in boxing. 2# no one imo, has better composure and calmness in the ring than Marquez.
One last thing Marquez has always had power. He started getting more ko's after he changed his fighting style after the John fight.
I was thinking the samething. A prime Margarito would have given Floyd tons of problems.
Tony Weeks was disgusting as a refferee last night. He was on that Floyd pay roll.
This may be the most i have every seen Floyd clinch a fighter so much with a vengence to summit his opponet from punching him.
And lets be honest here, Tony Weeks did a horrable job last night, anytime Maidanna got near Mayweather, he's break them up. And what about the low blow that Tony Weeks didn't see but Floyds reaction made Weeks call a halt to the action.
TONY WEEKS JUST ANOTHER PAID REFFEREE BY TMT.
I sure wished Chino threw more of the looping over hand right late into the fight but he may have had to adjust a bit to land that same shot. Its a shot Margarito used to have before he went with Garcia as trainer, that was a shot that most fighters used to say that they couldn't see where the shot was coming from. Marg had some advantages against Floyd, truth is Floyd just didn't want to have so much pressure on him applied by a fighter like Margarito, Marg would have ran right through Floyds shots and team Floyd knew this.
The picture of Floyd on the ropes "closeing his eyes as Chino hits him" well, who ever took that picture his name will be on the list of reporters not allowed to interview or watch Floyd workout.
Man... Mayweather has slowed down A LOT.
The body punches Mayweather ate in the early rounds were BRUTAL. Cringe inducing, really. I'm rewatching it in a calm state, and I'm seeing it for what it is.
His boxing skills saved him. And he has some dog in him. That saved him too.
I'm not trying to take anything away from Maidana's performance, but Money Mayweather is discernibly slower.
And his power is low to mid tier.
I think Mayweather should retire.

I was thinking the same thing during the fight. All fighters slow down, he just been taking the juice, you know the commision said "both fighters will be tested after the fight regardless of who they are" i think Floyd "maybe" looked slow due to something he didn't take before the fight. If Floyd wasn't injecting xoycline into his hands Floyd would not be able to punch like he does.
The bodyshots helped make Floyd look even slower and i think its one reason he was able to take Floyd to the ropes. Floyd has always been under-rated grite fighter.
Surprised really, thought i would see more Maidana, the way this site made it seem like a pure robbery, but even some ppl that i would consider not really liking Floyd gave it to Floyd. Does anyone know if the Castillo fight the press had more of a difference in the scoring? Also is Castillo the only one fighter to beat Floyd in compubox stats?

When the last time Floyd won the last round in one of his fights? I think it was the 9 or 10th round Maidanna took off than won two rounds in a row the last two rounds if i remember correctly.
Tony Weeks was horrable on saturday night, didn't think he could be paid off, i was wrong.
When you watch the fight ago, look in the later end of the fight how Maidanna has to shake off his arm after Maywether did a Tyson-Botha type of brake arm situation but Chino just shoke it off.
So damn near all of them had Floyd winning,a few draws and a couple picked Maidana
Floyd is like Oprah to them, they all want to get in the room and get luxerious items or gifts.
The only thing surprising about the thread is to read how the Floyd fans think using the forearm to push off an oppoent is legal. That is not legal, it is illegal. All professional refs will give you warnings when you try to push off an opponet with the forearm, Floyds not the only fighter who has used this tactic in fights, he's just one of the very few that doesn't get called on it by the refs.
Floyd holding in his last fight was disgusting for a fighter that claims to have such great boxing skills, to be saying to have the greatest shoulder roll in boxing he had to hold on for dear life. With lesser fighters the shoulder roll works with fighters coming in on Floyd trying to maul him but not against fighters at the level of Maidanna.
Hats off to Maidanna i thought this was going to be a total mismatch he proved me wrong.
How interesting is it that back at 130 Mayweather had another great Cuban boxer he should have fought but didnt'. Now in 2014 Mayweather has another great Cuban boxer in Lara and it seems like Mayweather is avoiding him.
